Huge number of failed database connections to on site database

Question

Ok so since about the 13th of December we have been seeing a massive amount of failed connection attempts to our database. It started off intermittently for a minutes or hours at a time but now it is nearly constant with several errors each minute, as of
yesterday we have about 30k failed connection attempts all with the same error:
MySQL error: 2002 - Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted.
We use a ClearDB MySQL database and according to them it is a problem in the Azure network. Anybody have any idea if this is something we can fix or what is going on? For weeks before this we have had 0 problems, we changed nothing and our server load has
not dramatically increased.

Hi,
Based on your description, you didn’t change anything and server load has not dramatically increased, from my research, this error is not related with MySQL and Windows Azure, I would suggest you reading this article
