Human task 10.1.3.1.0 - Assigning Participants By expression

I want to assign multiple assignees by using dynamic user xpath option. By name, if I specify comma separated users, it works fine. But in my case, the user information is not static and I need to derive from the payload I receive. Can some one give me information on how can i assign to multiple assignees through xpath. Thanks in advance. Regards - Prakash

I want to assign multiple assignees by using dynamic user assignment.
As explained in document BPEL Developer's Guide (10.1.3.1.0) implementing interface IDynamicUserAssignmentFunction succeeds the desired goal. However i can not manage to perform since i can not find a detailed documantation or tutorial.
Thanks for any help.

  • How to change Human Task state from "Completed" back to "Assigned"

    I am working with human task through BPEL Worklist API
    There is Human Task with state “completed”. We need to change the state back to “Assigned”
    In other words or get this task with “Assigned” state or get exactly the same task with the same number (that I can use as int parameter in ITaskQueryService.getTaskDetailsByNumber method invocation) .
    Is it possible?
    I tried to use ITaskService methods but without results.
    Thanks.

    Hi ,
    This request sits in table RSBKREQUEST with processing type as 2 in data elements USTATE, TSTATE and this 2 is actually "Processed Successfully" status which is obviously wrong.
    All we need is, ask your basis person to change the status to 3 in both these data elements.Then you can delete the previous bad request . Once the request is deleted, the request status gets updated as "4" in table RSBKREQUEST.
    For manually status change you can use the function  module RSBM_GUI_CHANGE_USTATE
    Hope this helps you...

  • Human Task expiration containing Task History from another Human Task

    Hi All,
    Let me explain you my complete workflow in brief.
    I have 8 Human Tasks and all are sharing Task history. My each individual Human task are in Scope activity. In my payload I have a variable "strExpiryDuration" and I am setting its value in an Assign activity before my last human task. I have assigned this variable "strExpiryDuration" in the expiry duration of my last human task definition. For the reference I am giving the value as "*P0DT1M*". But it is not expiring my last human task at all. I doubt it may be because task history which I am sharing in my human tasks is overwriting the payload values and thats why the value of strExpiryDuration is not setting up in task definition.
    I checked by assigning the same variable strExpiryDuration to some other value ("*P3DT1M*") and assigning it to my first human task definition. In this case, whenever the workflow is assigned to my last human task it is also showing Expiry date as of after 3 days. What is the issue here? Please help.

    I have found the solution to this generic problem. Whenever you have a human task sharing task history in your workflow, you need to ensure that the changed/modified payload value is assigned to the human tasks properly. In most of the cases, Task history sharing Human Task will override the payload values with the payload values of the previously executed human task in the workflow.
    For that the fix is as below:
    1. Expand the Human Task.
    2. In the Assign activity, write a copy operation in which copy the changed individual payload variable to the payload variable of the Human task whose task history we are sharing.
    For e.g.
    <copy>
    <from variable="inputVariable"
    part="payload"
    query="/client:TravelRequestProcessRequest/client:ExpiryDays"/>
    <to variable="ApprovalsTask_1_globalVariable"
    part="payload"
    query="/task:task/task:payload//client:TravelRequestProcessRequest/client:ExpiryDays"/>
    </copy>
    3. Make this copy operation as the first operation in the Assign Activity.
    I hope this solution will help you to resolve your issues.

  • Human Task - Send Attachment

    Hi.....
    While creating a Human Task, I am facing an issue, while attaching any .xsl in "Specify StyleSheet For Attachment" in "Advance Settings" in " .task " file for transformation of Task file (WorkFlowTask.xsd) to either xhtml or xml.
    it is sending the attachment as message.html file............ can I change it to .xml also. b'cos I am attaching .xsl to convert to xml to xml not to the html.
    Thanx in Advance
    Nitin

    Add a new assign-activity after the human task and add a copy operation: copy the variable /task:task/task:attachment to the second human task.
    Don't use the assign activity CopyPayloadFromTask in the switch activity because it is automaticaly generated when you change the workflow.

  • Human tasks on working days

    How can I do to make Human task's expiration days count only working days?

    Here's a bit of Java code to generate the string for 8 hour expirations only on days of M-F. It assumes a BPEL variable named strExpirationMinutes of type string has been created. You can pass the variable in to the human task as a parameter and directly assign it via XPath on the task configuration screen.
    String tmp = "PT";
    int iMins = 0;
    int hrs8 = 60*8;
    int hrs23 = 60*23;
    int hrs24 = 60*24;
    java.util.Calendar calNow = java.util.Calendar.getInstance();
    int hours = calNow.get( java.util.Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY );
    int minutes = calNow.get( java.util.Calendar.MINUTE );
    int dow = calNow.get( java.util.Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK );
    // if a M-T
    if (dow>=2 && dow<=5) {
    // if starting before 8 am - add 8 hours plus the interval between now and 8 am
    if (hours<8) {
    iMins = (60-minutes) + ( (8-hours-1)*60 )+ hrs8;
    // if starting between 8 am and 9 am - just add 8 hours
    } else if (hours==8 || ( hours==9 && minutes==0) ) {
    iMins = hrs8;
    // if starting between 9 am and 5 pm - just add 23 hours
    } else if (hours>=9 && (hours<17 || (hours==17 && minutes==0)) ) {
    iMins = hrs23;
    // if starting after 5 pm - add 8 hours plus the interval between now and 8 am
    } else {
    iMins = (60-minutes) + ( (24-hours-1)*60 ) + hrs8 + hrs8;
    // if Fri
    } else if (dow==6) {
    // if starting before 8 am - add 8 hours plus the interval between now and 8 am
    if (hours<8) {
    iMins = (60-minutes) + ( (8-hours-1)*60 )+ hrs8;
    // if starting between 8 am and 9 am - just add 8 hours
    } else if (hours==8 || ( hours==9 && minutes==0) ) {
    iMins = hrs8;
    // if starting between 9 am and 5 pm - add 23 hours plus the two we days
    } else if (hours>=9 && (hours<17 || (hours==17 && minutes==0)) ) {
    iMins = hrs23 + hrs24 + hrs24;
    // if starting after 5 pm - add 8 hours duration plus the interval between
    // now and 8 am saturday, plus the 2 we days
    } else {
    iMins = (60-minutes) + ( (24-hours-1)*60 ) + hrs8 + hrs8 + hrs24 + hrs24;
    // if Sat
    } else if (dow==7) {
    // add 8 hrs duration, plus the time between now and midnight sat, plus
    // all of sunday, plus 8 hrs for monday before 8 am
    iMins = (60-minutes) + ( (24-hours-1)*60 ) + hrs8 + hrs8 + hrs24;
    // if Sun
    } else {
    // add 8 hrs duration, plus the time between now and midnight sun, plus
    // 8 hrs for monday before 8 am
    iMins = (60-minutes) + ( (24-hours-1)*60 ) + hrs8 + hrs8;
    // finish build the time string
    tmp = tmp + iMins + "M";
    // save the string to bpel proc and audit
    setVariableData("strExpirationMinutes", tmp);
    addAuditTrailEntry("strExpirationMinutes:",tmp);

  • Human tasks, complex types and variable assignment.

    Hi folks,
    I encountered a problem while working with 10.1.3.1 which I haven't managed to solve yet and would be grateful for assistance. I have defined a complex data type (just a sequence of strings) and want to fill that data type by going through a flow of screens, e.g. through several human tasks. I have defined that type as a variable to the BPEL process and have managed to assign simple expressions to the variable and pass that into a Human Task. In the task I see now a simple input form for all attributes of the type.
    Now the problem. After I fill out the form and complete the human task, I have
    The global variable:
    <outputVariable>
         <part xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" name="payload">
              <MyProcessResponse xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/VacationRequest">
                   <vorname/>
                   <nachname/>
                   <strasse/>
                   <nummer/>
                   <postleitzahl/>
                   <stadt/>
                   <maximaleDauer/>
                   <minimaleDauer/>
              </MyProcessResponse>
         </part>
    </outputVariable>
    and the return value from the human task:
    <task>
         <title>CaptureData</title>-
              <payload>
                   <MyProcessResponse>
                        <vorname>David</vorname>
                        <nachname>Beckham</nachname>
                        <strasse>HighStreet</strasse>
                        <nummer/>
                        <postleitzahl/>
                        <stadt/>
                        <maximaleDauer/>
                        <minimaleDauer/>
                   </MyProcessResponse>
              </payload>
    </task>
    Now the only thing I would like to do is to replace the original values in the variable with the new values that have been returned from the task, this should be performed in an extra assign step. Sounds simple. JDeveloper wouldn't even let me klick through the return value from the HumanTask, so it seems as if I have to do things manually.
    These are my tries:
    Command 1:
    <copy>
         <from variable="CaptureData_1_globalVariable"
    part="payload" query="/task:task/task:payload" />
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"

    --> Task does't return (!!!). In the BPEL Worklist, the task is completed, however in the BPEL console it still apears as "waiting to return from Human task".
    Does anyone have a hint on how to copy the values so that I get exactly the structure that I printed at the very top?
    Thanks for help. Rock On !

    Hello everyone,
    It seems that we are talking about different things, I am afraid. Let me describe the scenario once again:
    - I want to have a BPEL process with more than one role involved
    - This process should be used to gather some complex data.
    - All data gathering should be done through HumanTasks.
    So I defined an xsd complex type, that contains a sequence of fields. This complex type should be part of the process payload.
    Now before HumanTask 1 is called, I copy the contents of this variable into the input for tasks1. This works fine and I see the appropriate values, when opening the Human Task in the BPEL worklist application.
    Now after HumanTask1 is completed, the values I entered inside that tasks are returned as a variable from the HumanTask. My problem is, that I cannot copy the contents of the task back into the main process. With simpleTypes this is relatively ok, since Jdev supports the assembling of the copy operation, however for complex tasks it fails.
    A typical scenario for this would be where e.g. a customer fills a shipping address and afterwards a store staff fills product details in the same order. In Java this could be solved via "pass by reference". Who can provide an example?

  • In human task, dynamically assign group doesn't work

    Oracle SOA 11.1.1.4
    My bpel process invokes a human task.
    On the human task Assignment tab, I assigned 3 users (by name), 1 group (by expression).
    The group is configured in LDAP
    When I tested the bpel process, I entered the group and other data required.
    From the worklist app, I see the task listed. It is assigned to the 3 users, but not the dynamically passed-in group.
    From the Audit trail, I saw all data I entered (include the group). Everything seems correct, but I still can’t make the dynamically-pass-group work.
    If I assign the group by name in human task, it works fine.
    The problem is: dynamically assign group doesn't work.
    Please kindly advice.

    Yes, it is possible assign a group as participant of some human task, passing the group name as parameter.
    I have tested just now.
    It works pretty well in SOA 11.1.1.4 (BPEL or BPM).
    Make sure add a data parameter in your human task definition and pass a valid group name to it.
    At the Assignment tab, in the participants' list, add a group, data type by expression, and set the value to the right xpath expression to the corresponding parameter.
    For example: /task:task/task:payload/task:group
    If it is not working look the SOA log files, probably you'll find some information about the error there. Maybe there is some problem with your jazn.com configuration.
    You can also test if there is something wrong related to the group name, trying to transfer some task to the same group by the worklist.

  • Human task assignment for users in Group1 and Role1

    Is there a way to make a Human Task assignment in Oracle SOA Suite BPM 11g for all the users in Group1 who has the Role1 role?.
    I don't want to assign the task to all the Group1's users plus all the Rrrole1's users. I only need the users who belong to both: Group1 and has Role1, but I don't know how to configure this in the HumanTask.

  • Error in Dynamic Human Task Assignment

    Hi,
    I am trying to assign task dynamically using Xpath but i keep getting error when i deploy & run the BPEL process.
    I tried using orcl:create-nodeset-from-delimited-string(') but it returns the error
    "Error while processing xpath expression, the reason is message can't be null.
    Please verify the xpath query."
    I tried using Qname as 'task:assignee' as well as '/task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:assigneeUsers/task:id' but it returns the same error!
    I would really appreciate if someone can tell me how can I assign user dynamically!

    The trick is that the user id to which you will assign the task should be present somewhere within your payload. When editing the task file, the dynamic user xpath expression you enter should be pointing to this element which contains the user id. That's all indeed.
    By the way, "message can't be null" error may occur if you are not setting the payload instance correctly. You specify the message or element types for the payload while editing the task file, however you should specify real object instances for the payload elements in the dialog box which opens when you double click the human task activity in the BPEL diagram.
    Hope this helps..

  • Routing  a human task while invalid dynamic assignment

    hi,
    we hav a confusion while using route process in human task.
    In our case when an invalid user is dynamically assigned to BPEL ,an Alert is generated for the jcooper user .As we have set "overrride default exception management" for jcooper user in adavance setting of .task file.
    When jcooper user route the task to any other user say jstein,the state of the task of jcooper is completed and also the BPEL process is completed.But in the worklist of jstein no task is shown .
    What we think is,BPEL process should not be get completed when jcooper user route the task but it should get complete when jstein act on the task.

  • Assign the next human task to the specific participant??

    If my process has two swam, the first swan has a Script Task, and the second swan has a human task. If I want the script task to update the participant for the next human task who will belong to the role, how can I do it? Can I do it on the over the xpath? Because each human task should belong to one of the specific people in the role to handle, I don't want to show it to all people who belong to same role in the workspace.

    In BPM 11g you can use xpath expression to assign users, groups, or roles. See this section in the docs:

  • Human Task : assign task to user at runtime based on some conditions

    HI ,
    I have a requirement that is, Assign task to users/ groups at runtime for approval based on material qty. please help me in design approach to achieve the same.
    thanks in advance.
    Guru

    Hi Guru
    You can achieve this with and without business rules. I am assuming you have a payload with element like "qty". In task details page or somehow, this gets filled. Now later on you can have like this:
    1. Without Business Rules:
    a) Lets assume you have human tasks like ApproverDefault, Approver100, Approver200, ApproverAll etc.
    b) After your first Task, add a XOR Gateway. Default path of XOR goes to ApproverDefault. Then you have like 3 more paths with Conditions like qty between 0 and 100 goes to Approver100. Qty between 100 and 200 goes to Approver200. Qty more than 200 goes to ApproverAll.
    Quantity
    No conditions (Default) -> ApproverDefault
    qty < 100 -> Approver100
    qty > 100 and qty < 200 -> Approver200
    qty > 300 -> ApproverAll.
    2. With Business Rules
    a) This needs some learning. Please do refer detailed online docs. I am just giving brief steps. Create extra fields of type Boolean in payload like AutoApproved, NeedApproval100, NeedApproval200, NeedApprovalAny etc. Have more meaningful names as per your requirement and human task though.
    b) You need to drag and drop Business Rules component and edit it in JDeveloper.
    c) First create a Bucket set with Range of Values for Qty field like -infinity to 0, 0 to 100, 100 to 200, 200 to infinity. You just enter rows like 0, 100, 200, and rest is taken care to add these Ranges.
    d) Now create Decision Rules. For each range, create a action and set the flag(s) appropriately.
    e) See hello world example for exact steps and full understanding.
    http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/obpm/11g/r1/firstProcess/firstprocess_obpm11g.htm
    Pros & Cons:
    a) Without Business Rules is very simple and straight forward. Quick and easy to develop and test. But if you want to control the range of values for qty, you need to modify the process and redeploy. Its kind of tight.
    b) Business Rules gives more flexible. You can change qty at run time, provided you use BPM Composer. But takes some learing and needs some debug if it fails like that.
    There are many differences and pros and cons. But above are the main ones.
    If you are a beginner, go with First Approach for now.
    Thanks

  • How to assign hierachical groups from OID, in bpm human task.

    Hi,
    We have a group in OID like
    "cn=MED,cn=Reviewer,cn=NSTIP,cn=STU,cn=KSU,cn=groups,dc=kacst,dc=edu,dc=sa"
    and I am tring to assign the group to a human activity using the assignment tab of the human task.
    I am using the lookupGroup function under Identiy Service Functions as below
    ids:lookupGroup('cn=MED,cn=Reviewer,cn=NSTIP,cn=STU,cn=KSU,cn=groups,dc=kacst,dc=edu,dc=sa')
    The human task is not able to assign the user under the group MED present in myrealm and OID.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Tuku

    Hi Dear,
    Thanks for your reply.
    what you have suggested to use like ids:lookupGroup('MED') ,this is working fine and I had already tested it before, from jdev and aslo from bpm workspace administration link. But here our problem is we are having more then one 'MED' group with different hierachy . so using directly ids:lookupGroup('MED') will be a problem because we dont know which
    'MED'group it will be assigned.
    Another problem is ,when I am going to search from myrealm (jazn.com) it showing me 3 MED groups (that is present currently in our OID with different hierachy) but not the hierachy, so its also difficult to find out which MED group belongs to which hierachy.
    If we can find a solution to ids:lookupGroup('cn=MED,cn=Reviewer,cn=NSTIP,cn=STU,cn=KSU,cn=groups,dc=kacst,dc=edu,dc=sa') then there wont be any confution to assign the actual group.
    Regarding your question "Do you get like any error or is it that Task just can't get assigned. Have you tried assiging directly like from EM to make sure that Group and user in this group is all fine."
    I am not getting eny error message its just can't get assigned and goes to the end of the bpm process cathing the happy path.
    tested the groups using the url http://soahost:soaport/integration/services/IdentityService/identity here is the result.
    1 ) For group MED
    Result :

  • Assigning human task to a user not exist in the ldap - actionable task by email address

    Hello experts,
    we have a requirement to assign a task to an external user (not exist in the ldap) to perform some action by allowing the system to send an actionable email.
    Internal user will capture the external-user name & emailaddress in the task form. System should use this information and assign the task to the user by sending an actionable email. Our requirement is, these external users should not have access to bpm workspace, so we can not store the user information within the system.
    Currently I have tried assign the task to an internal user (users configured in weblogic) and system sends out an actionable email and able to set the outcome of the task by replying to the email.
    How can the same be achieved, without the user being in our system? Is it possible? I am OK to create a temporary user before assigning the task, but will be there be any impact if I delete the user after the task has been completed?

    AnilB,
    Assigning a task to a user that is not in the directory will likely result in the BPM flow going into suspended state. To avoid this, assign the task to a pre-created group, you should not get an error even if the group is empty. You can then add and remove the users to that group to control access to the task.
