Hyperion configure interface datasource problem

i installed hyperion 11.1.2.2 and installation finished succesfully.
I login to console http://ip:19000/workspace and i try to call "configure interface datasource" menu
i get error message.
; nested exception is:
HTTP transport error: java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: Sessions.asmx
Code: java.rmi.RemoteException
Description: An error occurred processing the result from the server.

If a Sessions page is displayed, then IIS is correctly configured. If there is any error in IIS, check the Event Log to identify the problems. Check the System and Application Log to see if errors were logged by ASP.NET or IIS, and fix any errors. A possible cause is incorrect privileges for the user for the TEMP directory.
l Check the Event Logs from sources starting with HyS9EPMA. Possible causes are communication errors with Shared Services or the database.
l The ASPNET user may not have access to certain folders. If the Event Log displays any security-related errors, assign rights to the ASPNET user.
1. From the command prompt, go to this directory: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727.

Hi,
The first thing that stands out is that you are running on Vista, it is not officially supported and I know people have had troubles getting planning working with it.
The error message points to a problem with the connection to essbase.

Problem configure mysql datasource

Hi, I am trying to use mysql datasource for my application. I had configured MYSQL_DRIVER and then
i had configured gtasappdb datasource with
   driver-class-name = com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
   url               = jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/appdb
   alias             = appdbdatasource
And then i tried to deploy a EJB application which uses the above 'appdbdatasource'. When the application starts
it says cannot find 'gtasappdb' connectionfactory.
So can anyone tell me what should be done to use mysql for my application, please

There are two ways.
1. You should add a resource reference to the ds alias in the deployment descriptor of the application component.Once you have defined the reference,use the following snippet to access the data source
DataSource ds = (DataSource) context.lookup("java:comp/env/<res-ref-name>").
2. If you have not defined the reference in your application, use the JNDI reference "jdbc/alias".

EPMA interface datasource connection lost

Hi,
We upgraded from 11.1.2.0 to 11.1.2.2. When trying to do a validation of EPMA, we are not able to edit a import profile as the interface datasource information is lost after the upgrade. The error we get when trying to edit a profile is

Is this expected after an upgrade? Should we be creating a new datasource?

Thanks John. I created a new datasource with the same name and it worked.
Also i was trying to import a dimension, got this error.
The 'IsPrimary' column is not present in the import source for dimension 'CostCenter_Lv0'. Creating all imported members as primary instances.Are there new columns(IsPrimary) in the interface tables in the new version that did not get upgraded?

Configure Interface channel monitoring for PI in SOLMAN 7.1

Hi Experts,
I am configuring interface channel monitoring for PI in SOLMAN 7.1.In step 5 (Define scope) it is asking to select scenario.I can see all PI systems (Dev,QA and PRD) is listed in the table with "monitoring and alerting setup status" as yellow.when I select PI (prod) and proceed , in step 6.3 (Interface channel Monitoring config) I don't find any channel name in table.I need your support to clear my understanding on this.
1)My objective is to monitor all the interfaces that are existing between PI system and other SAP as well as non SAP systems (that include JDBC connections also).How can find all these interfaces in solman while doing Interface channel monitoring config?
2)I am not sure if I have understood correctly that I need to create scenario that includes technical systems between which Interface channel are to be monitored. If I am correct then how can I bring the technical system to SOLMAN SLD from Local SLD of PI(prod).Here I am not getting option to synchronize SOLMAN SLD from PI Local SLD. Even Import option is also not there. Do I need to create all the Technical systems (present in PI) to SOLMAN SLD manually?
If my understanding is not correct then please guide me through steps to do the configuration to achieve my objective.

the users SLDDSUSER and SLDAPIUSER got locked, I changed it in su01.
and I created rfc in SM59 for SAPSLDAPI and LCRSAPRFC and create the same in JCo RFC provider.
both are working.
but iam facing new problem.
I have solution manager 7.1 system and I configured local SLD. I did not connect any managed system as of now.
after all the trouble shooting, SLDAPICUST and SLDCHECK is fine but
the error is
"Functional call returned exception code 3"
"Access to XI Profile currently disrupted.
I have solution manager 7.1, I did not configure managed systems as of now. is this error belongs to solution manager 7.1 or for PI system.
can u please guide me how to trouble shoot this error. check the following screen shot for reference.

does anybody know if it is possible using aaa and privilage level commands to let a user to configure a specific interface on Catalyst 2950 switch (IOS version 12.1(22)EA4) ? For example, a FastEthernet interface but not the Giga interface.

I think I can let a user with a privelege level 3 to configure interfaces if I put the following commands in the config :
username labo2 privilege 3 secret 5 XXXXXXXXXXX
privilege configure level 3 interface
privilege interface level 3 duplex
privilege interface level 3 speed
etc..
The problem is the user labo2 will be able to configure speed not only ont the FastEthenet interfaces but also ont the Giga interfaces. Do you know if there is any way to avoid it or it's just impossible.

I have the following problem: Configuration a datasources to MS SQL Backend with option encryption enforced (by SQL Server).
I goggled in the internet for the configuration of the datasource and find multiple articles/advices:
Configuration a datasource type other with jtds.jdbc.Driver and manual configuration of the connection string:
1. Downloading the driver and copy to the cfusion/lib directory: Done, the driver was recognized by coldfusion after a restart of the service.
2. Copying the ntlmauth.dll to the bin directory of jre/bin: Done
3. Configuration of the jdbc URL: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://xxxx.xxx.xxx.net:1433/db: Works, I don’t get a connection timeout
4. User and PW: Works: I don’T get a login failure.
5. Advanced settings: Connection String: Maybe here is something wrong: EncryptionMethod=SSL; TrustStore=Path\sqlstore.jks; TrustStorePassword=xxx; ValidateServerCertificate=true; HostNameInCertificate=xxx.xxx.xxx.net;
Error Message (Coldfusion logs/stack trace): I/O Error: DB server closed connection. SQLException while attempting to connect: java.sql.SQLException: I/O Error: DB server closed connection..
Has anybody experiences with this topic/can give me advices/send me screenshots.

we tried: add EncryptionMethod=SSL; ValidateServerCertificate=false; to the connection string;
And it doesn't work.. Are you sure, that you have enabled encryption enforced in your SQL-Server Settings.
Oherwise the connection works, but the Connection is not encrypted:
Coldfusion lies!
You can controll this by veryfining the open connections on the sqlserver with the query:
SELECT net_transport, protocol_type, encrypt_option ,auth_scheme, program_name FROM sys.dm_exec_connections AS c JOIN sys.dm_exec_sessions AS s ON c.session_id = s.session_id cross apply sys.dm_exec_sql_text(most_recent_sql_handle) AS d
There you can see the jtds Connectionand the (programname) and the encryt_option (must be true).

Is it possible to move some tools or their setting parameter from Configuration interface to Inspection Interface?

We use Vision Builder for machine vision. There are two interfaces in Vision Builder (Inspection Interface & Configuration interface). It is better machine vision operator would work with Inspection Interface and he should not access to all of setting and tools but he need to redefine some parameter like RIO in some tools like measuring tools for different products.
Is it possible to move some tools or their setting parameter from Configuration interface to Inspection Interface?
Or is it possible to define security like password to some tools and their setting but not all of them?

Vision Builder generally isn't supposed to rely on user input, but there is a step called "User Input" that allows you to get input from the user. ROI would be tricky. I think the slickest way to do that would be to create a VI that displays the image, lets the user drag a rectangle, then pass those coordinates back to Vision Builder to configure the ROI.

I have a problem on one of the interfaces on a cisco 3560 switch. In fact, I set up a monitoring network recently (cacti), and I have a significant number of errors on the interfaces. the problem is that when I do a sh interface I see no errors, and even by making a clear counters it does not solve my problem .. I also changed the wiring with cat 6 cables but nothing has changed ..
What are the main causes of errors on an interface of a switch? what should I do in this case?

I've a e61i and I experience a similar problem. My phone work very well on WiFi network with no encryption as well as 64-bit wep.
At home I've 2 wireless routers, both encrypted at 128 bits, one with WEP and the other with WPA. On both of them I can correctly obtain an IP thru DHCP, but the traffic do not go thru.
By using IfInfo I think I discovered the reason of the problem (unless IfInfo is not working properly...) and it seems a bug related to the netmask, broadcast and gateway settings. The router is 192.168.15.1 and this is what I get:
1) DHCP case -- I get two IP adresses: the 169.254.x.x and the one assigned to the router. DNS is also set properly, but both gateway, broadcast and netmask are set to 0.0.0.0 for both IPs.
IP Addr: 169.254.162.106
Netmask: 0.0.0.0
Broadcast: 0.0.0.0
Gateway: 0.0.0.0
DNS1: 192.168.15.1
IP Addr: 192.168.15.100
Netmask: 0.0.0.0
Broadcast: 0.0.0.0
Gateway: 0.0.0.0
DNS1: 192.168.15.1
2) Static IP 192.168.15.64, netmask set to 255.255.255.0 and gateway and DNS set to 192.168.15.1. The 169.254.x.x disappears and I get only one IP which is set to:
IP Addr: 192.168.15.64
Netmask: 0.0.0.0
Broadcast:192.168.15.255
Gateway: 192.168.15.1
DNS1: 192.168.15.1
So in conclusion, it seems that with 128bit encryption, in the DHCP case gateway, broadcast and netmask are not assigned correctly! While in the Static IP case the netmask is still not assigned correctly!!!

SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0: SAP_BW 701 0007 SAPKW70107
BW system: PI_BASIS 7.01 SP 6
ECC/source system: PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 SP 11
Problem exists throughout, both with generic and standard DataSources.
Here is one specific example:
Generic DataSource ZXXXXXXXX
InfoPackage "ZXXXXXXXX(ZXXXXXXXX)" does not run. Error:
DataSource ZXXXXXXXX(SOURCESYS) must be activated
Message no. RSDS179
Then followed these steps:
1. Replicate Metadata from source system
2. Report RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL from SE38 for source system SOURCESYS and DataSource ZXXXXXXXX
Errors returned:
Inconsistent user object ZXXXXXXXX SOURCESYS for PSA /BIC/B000XXXX
Error saving DataSource ZXXXXXXXX SOURCESYS
DataSource ZXXXXXXXX (SOURCESYS) could not be activated
When I try to choose "Manage" from the context menu for the DataSource, I see an error:
Invalid DataStore object name /BIC/B000XXXX: Reason: No valid entry in table RSTS
Message no. RSM1294

Just to help the folks out here.
In my case,
Inspite of going through several valid NOTES & program, my issue didnt resolve (you reply was pretty accurate - but dint help me :-)).
I have resolved the issue by adjusting the PSA table for the same.
Procedure:
Take the psa name --> go to table rstsods --> find the ODSNAME_TECH name for the relevant psa --> se38 t.code --> enter ODSNAME_TECH and click on 'adjust & activate database table' (make sure you have selected 'save data' radio button.
Just in case anyone who come across this problem, can do the above steps.

Configuring a DataSource

I'm trying to configure a DataSource for MySql, but when I try to make a ping to the Connection Pool appears this message: "Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Connection could not be allocated because: Syntax error or access violation message from server: "Incorrect database name 'jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/tienda'"
I'm using this parameters:
DataSource classname = com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlDataSource
Resource type = javax.sql.DataSource
database name = jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/shop
Can anybody help me?

I suppose you use Windows XP and you have create a System DNS throught Administrative Tools in Control Panel.
If you didn't do it then you should use a Type1 JDBC Driver, an ODBC-JDBC driver. You should donwload the MySQL ODBC Driver and install it.
Then insert this code in your program.

Error invoking hyperion configuration wizard

Hi,
I am installating Hyperion System 9 including Planning. I have completed the installation of Shared Services and Essbase. After the installation of Planning, while invoking the hyperion configuration utility, to register Planning tool, I am getting the following error,
" could not determine central location: use "-enginehome" to set manually" .
Please let me know if anyone has faced this issue, and possible ways to resolve the same.
I am using Sun Solaris OS-8, SPARC 64 bit application.

I did not set the class path manually, I only used the sapinst wizard.
How to check the class path and if the com.sap.aii.adapter.lib.zip is not installed, how to install it?

because I wanted to change the PI default client from 001 to 100, I executed the client copy, change UME to new client and deploy LM　CONFIGURATION(LMCFG01P Patch 02) according to the SAPnote 1309239 Q4.
