Hyperlink from a cell to text in Pages

Hi everyone,
Here's my problem,
I'd like to create a kind of hyperlink from a cell in a table in a Pages doc, so that the number in the cell automatically copy where I want in the doc.
Ex: you want to copy an number from a cell and paste it in a sentence so that you only have to change the number in the cell.
Does anyone know how to do it?

Nice! I was puzzled to know how it would work in Pages (your original post). I see that you have used Numbers to do this, with some of the Table (Tableau) borders white.

Now I know what you were trying to do, I found that this will also work in Pages with the same formulas:
Here with all borders black:
Cost cells formatted in Inspector > Table > Format > Currency > Euro

Hi everyone,
I copy a lot of text from websites into Pages documents, and I'm looking for a way to remove multiple hyperlinks from a slab of text all at once without having to remove each hyperlink individually? This would save me a lot of time!
Not sure if Pages actually has this feature - if not then it would be a good feature request. It would be similar to MS Word's function to clear a slab of text of all formatting (including hyperlinks).
Any tips would be much appreciated!

Select all the text concerned. Then:
This will stop them being live links but they will probably be blue and underlined. Click the underline button twice, and use the colour selector to turn them black.

When printing to Adobe PDF from Microsoft Publisher, the text on page 2 is not 100% black

I'm using Microsoft Publisher 2013 to print to an Adobe PDF file (I have a trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.)
I sent the PDF to my printing house but they can't print it because the text on page 2 is not 100% black. In Publisher, the text colour on both pages is CMYK 0/0/0/100.
I created a test file in which I copied the text from page 1 onto page 2 so both pages are identical. However, the PDF created from that file, when I click Print Production, Output Preview and de-select Process Black, all the text on page 1 disappears (as expected) but none of the text on page 2 disappears! It seems that Publisher and/or Acrobat is printing the text on page 1 correctly but not page 2. Does anyone know why? Am I doing something wrong?

Do not use the PDF Maker, but print to the Adobe PDF printer and see if that meets you need. If you need some of the tools of PDF Maker, then turn on only those you need, not them all. Check to be sure that the graphics are indeed being downsampled and possibly go back and reduce the graphics you have in the WORD file so that you are at least not using millions of colors, 256 max. Also consider using straight B&W if color is not needed, or at least gray-scale.

Hyperlinks from other file formats working in Pages

You can't. Pages can only hyperlink to Pages documents. When you open a word document in Pages it becomes a Pages document and isn't a Word document anymore.

New hyperlink from URL crash in CS5

When I try to create a hyperlink from a url or text in InDesign CS5, many times InDesign crashes. It's mostly when I haven't created a hyperlink in a few hours, and then when I do, InDesign crashes. Once I restart InDesign, I'm good to go and everything works perfectly. Anyone else have this problem?
My system is InDesign 7.0.2 and OS 10.6.4

I'm on CS4 and I've been labouring with this problem for the past year. I have consistently returned crash reports but it concerns me considerably that the same problem has translated to CS5 without a fix in sight. I get the crash with New hyperlink from URL and also with New hyperlink... where the dialogue appears but the program crashes as soon as I try to access the dropdown menu to change to url, email, page or whatever. Like everyone else, I have to restart the program and everything works just fine ... for a while. Now I never call the New hyperlink dialogue without saving the document first, as I never know when it will choose to crash. Despite all my crash reports, which have included my email address, nobody from Adobe has given me any feedback, so it doesn't surprise me that no one from Adobe has taken an interest in this thread.

Hyperlink from word in topic to glossary

Can I use insert hyperlink from a word on a topic page to glossary term? I am not a programmer and wonder if there is an easy way to do this. I'm using Robohelp 7.

Hi there
If you are thinking you might link to a term inside the Glossary tab or panel, the answer to that is no. It quite simply cannot be done.
The Glossary panel is simply a display method. We cannot link to terms inside it or link from terms in it to elsewhere.
What you can do is to run something called the "Glossary Hotspot Wizard". This is a wizard that will scan your topic content seeking matches to Glossary terms. Where a match is found, a DHTML Expanding Hotspot is created.

As a student, you might be able to get Office for Mac from the college bookstore at a substantial discount. Otherwise, I think your best option for documents that need to be shared with Office users is to get one of the free Office clones such as LibreOffice.

Here's another way that is pretty quick to do.
Formula in Column B is:
=LEFT(A, FIND(":", A))
Formula in Column C is:
=RIGHT(A, LEN(A)-FIND(":", A))
You can eliminate the colon from the result in column B by writing:
=LEFT(A, FIND(":", A)-1)
Once you do the conversion, you should freeze the result by Selecting columns B and C and then Command-C, Edit > Paste Values.

Does anyone know how to deactivate a hyperlinks from a PDF exported from Pages?

I have created a pages doc that I needs to be exported as PDF. In pages, I all the hyperlinks are deactivated, but every time I export it to a PDF the hyperlinks are reactivated. Does anyone know how to make sure the hyperlinks stay deactivated once the doc is converted to a PDF?

If the links are spelled out (example:http://www.somewebsite.com) and not actual hyperlinks where the links are embedded under regular text, Reader will recognize them as links automatically unless the user has that option turned off (it's on be default). You can't keep that from happening unless the text is an image.

I am putting together a gradebook type spreadsheet. I would like to display the text from another cell if the number entered in another cell is greater than or less than a certain number.
So - if the number in cell A is equal to or greater than 70 then the text displayed in cell B equals the text contained in cell C

The Numbers User Guide PDF available from the Numbers Help menu as a download is good reading for beginners. As a reference document, the iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide is also valuable.
The function you need is called "IF", and the syntax is: IF "logic-expression" is true, then do this, else do this. As a calculation in a cell, that would have the form: =IF("Cell A" is equal to or greater than 70, then display the content of cell C, else display "something else") You need to provide the "something else", which can be a null string, "", if you wish.
As you will find when you read the guide, the cells all have row and column address components where the column is identified by a letter of the alphabet and the row by a number. So If your data is in A1, your text string in B1 and your expression is in C1, you would write in C1:
=IF(A1>=70, B1, "")

I am new to Oracle APEX. My requirement is to setup a Hyperlink from one page to another page.
Currently I am displaying 4 columns in the report of Page 1. The report is like below,
Survey Response Count_of_Cities City_Name
AB Y 2 LONDON,CHICAGO
AB N 3 DELHI,MUMBAI,CHENNAI
AC Y 1 LONDON
AC N 4 TOKYO,HONGKONG,BANGALORE,HYDERABAD
But the revised requirement is I need to show the City_name in another page i.e. Page 2 when the user clicks on value of the Count_of_Cities. i.e. If the user clicks on 3, In page 2 the values should be appear like below
DELHI
MUMBAI
CHENNAI
If I click on the 4, the values in the page should be like below,
TOKYO
HONGKONG
BANGALORE
HYDERABAD
Currently in Page 1 I am hiding the City_Name and created a Hyperlink on Count_of_Cities. When clicked on Count_of_Cities it is navigating to Page 2. But the values for City_Name are not showing properly.
Please sugegst how I can show the City_Name values in page 2?
Please let me know if you require any additional information.
Please provide the solution. The requirement is urgent.

Inspector > Table > Table > Cell Borders
The buttons immediately below "Cell Borders" allow you to choose left, right, inside, outside etc.
Choose None from the border style Pop-up.
Download the Number'09UserGuide from the Help menu in Pages. Search for borders.

Another method is tosave your Word document as an a web page. Then open the htm file, copy the text and paste into an HTML snippet on your web page. Resize to show all the document and publish. It will retain the style, font and alignment of the original Word document.

Copy text from multiple cells

How do I copy the text (cell contents, not cell) in multiple cells (all at once)?
I am trying to cut and paste the text from a Numbers table (actually an Excel file opened in Numbers) to a text box in InDesign to create an InDesign table.
When I select multiple cells and Command 'C', I copy the cells not the content.
It was easy in Excel... but I am trying to avoid installing 'Office' on my new MacPro!
Help much appreciated.

It's handy sometimes to be able to copy cells from Numbers and paste them in other applications, where they appear just as they do in Numbers. Numbers does that well.
If you just want the content of the cells as text, you could use an AppleScript. That would not be complicated to write..
But first, does InDesign have an Edit > Paste Special (or similar) menu choice where you can tell it to accept the pasted material as unformatted text? One sees that in Word, for example:
