Hyperlink to specific pdf page

I would like to be able insert a hyperlink into Excel 2011 which specifies a page within the pdf to jump to.  From looking at various web pages, it appears that one should be able to append the following text to the hyperlink #page=25.  However, this does not appear to work.  I thought that it was something to do with Excel but even if I insert the hyperlink into Safari, it still does not work.  With both Excel and Safari, the pdf opens but it does not jump to the specified page.  I am running OS 10.6 and 10.7 and I get the same results on both.
Has anyone managed to get this working?

Thank you for the link.
I think the solution is for a windows machine that can use Internet Explorer.  I have already tried using this solution but with Safari but it unfortunately does not work.  Ideally, I would like the hyperlink to open preview at the required page.

  • Accessing Specific PDF page in a hyperlink within CHM

I have built a CHM in RoboHelp 9 and am trying to make a hyperlink that will take the reader directly to an included PDF page number, that starts a section in this PDF of about 3 pages.

Having multiple images in a tiff file is probably not the best practice. THe image object meta data might not make much sense (width, height, format...).
    But....
For 8.1.7, there is no way to do it from PL/SQL. You could do it outside the database in a servlet.
For 9i, there is an undocumented interface to allow for access to tiff images other than the first image that is being considered for documentation with 10i.

  • Create excel hyperlink directly to PDF page in a file

I have seen some old posts on this saying this could not be done. Wondering if anyone has developed a way to do this yet?
I want my excel hyperlink to take me to a specified page within a PDF that is filed on my harddrive.
I'm able to link the PDF but not to a specific page.
Any ideas how I might do this?

    Hi,
    it's me again.
Well, with the PDF open parameters I am now able to open a pdf document via HTML on a specific page number.
However page numbers are changing so I want do define a special Article using the following command:
    http://example.org/doc.pdf#nameddest=Article16
but the pdf opens always at the first page. Is there something to do in the pdf document with Article 16 first ?

  • Specific PDF page range via URL

    Hi!
We have a 60 page PDF, but would like to be able to only show pages 5-10 (or whatever) via a URL and have parameters in the URL only show pages 5-10.
Is this possible?  It would be as if the URL parameters hide/omit pages 1-4 and 11-60, and simply show the user specific data presenting a "lightweight" version of the original PDF.
    Thank you!

No, this would require a server process to make a subset PDF and serve it.
You can link to a specific page.
Also, when shown in the browser, if a file is optimized for fast web view, it goes directly to specific pages rather than waiting to load the whole file.

  • Way to scroll to specific PDF page fast ?

Im using Safari for reading PDF docs from web.
The PDF docs have a lot of pages. 200 pages is standard.
Is there a way to quickly get to desired page ? Ie page 100
Scrolling manualy thought 100 pages isn't exactly user friendly.
Also is there a way to bookmark specific page in PDF for Safari ?
so it doesn't opens on 1st page, but goes straight to page 100
I'll be glad for any advice.

This is not something I know personally can be done right now.
But iPhone 2.0 is coming out soon and many cool applications. So maybe a nice PDF application for iPhone might be coming out. Not sure. We will have to sit back wait and see what the world of App programmers have to offer

  • How to add a Comment to a specific PDF page or page element?

I'd like to share a multipage PDF and gather comments about designs presented on the different pages.
Currently comments seem to only apply to the entire PDF file and not to individual pages or elements on pages. I don't see an obvious way to add contextual annotations.
If someone adds a comment, how do I know which page they are commenting on? Perhaps they just have to write something like "Looking at page 4 I'd like to change..."
    Thanks,
    DAN

Thanks for the feedback. Currently you cannot comment on a specific page in the Creative Cloud.

  • Adobe acrobat 7 (8) - URL-link to specific pdf-page

Is there any way to create page specific URLs in Acrobat 7.0 (or 8.0)? I was hoping that somebody know if there is a way that I can create links from a web page directly to a page in a pdf file.

    Read following document:

  • Link to a pdf page on web from a chm file

    Hello,
I'm using RoboHelp 9.0.2.  I'm trying to create a link in a chm file to a specific pdf page using a URL.  The link I am using is http://www.actuarialstandardsboard.org/pdf/exposure/ASOP_No27_second%20exposure_2011.pdf#p age=41
I put the above line in my chm file.  It appears correctly in the URL project list and shows correctly when I choose Show.  It also apeears to be correct in the HTML code of the page.
However when I create the chm clicking on the link just brings me the start of the pdf file.  After clicking on the link in the chm file and explorer opens, the URL in explorer does not show #page=41.  It ends at.pdf.
Am I missing something or does anyone kno whys this is not working?
    Thanks
    John

    Hi there
That link doesn't even work for me when I paste it into the address bar of my Firefox browser. It does work in IE, but not in Firefox. In Firefox it opens the PDF generically.
I tested in a CHM and it did try and link, but it presents a black page. Looks like the correct page, but it's blacked out.
CHM files rely upon elements of Internet Explorer to display their content. So perhaps it's something specific to a certain version of Internet Explorer as well as a certain version of the Acrobat Reader.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How to hyperlink from a pdf file to a specific page in a second pdf file

I would like to setup a set of pdf documents, on the hard disk of a PC or Mac, that can be open in acrobat pro and have hyperlinks that jump to, and open in a new window, in acrobat pro, to a given page of a second document in the set.
It seems to me to be something that everyone would want to do and should be simple enough.
But I seem to be missing something.
I had partial success a few years ago using what I recall are the following general points:
    Create files in word,
    Use absolute address
    Use / not \,
Converting the spaces in the address to %20
Set the hyperlink base to “file:///T:/PdfDocumentsFolder/”
Add location with  #page=3 to end of file name,
Convert to pdf with acrobat pdfmaker
Open pdf with web browser into reader.(could not get it to work on mac with OS 9) by Checking Edit-Preferences-Internet-Web Browser Options-Display PDF in browser
This will allow the pdf to open to a given page, but only in the acrobat reader under MS IE, Not in Acrobat pro and not on a mac even in the reader.
Now I have a large (500) PDF documents with a very large number of comments and a key user switched to a Mac and can not automatically go to the page and would lose or have to transfer comments that have been made on the pdfs.
I have looked at and tried a number of things that have not worked:
Change all the links by hand:
    Tools-Advanced Editing-Link
    Action-Open file
I can not see where when Inserting a link by hand one can place the page number
    Action-Open weblink
Close, This can open a file,
If Edit-Preferences-Internet-Web Browser Options-Display PDF is checked it will jump to a page
But if it is not checked it will open in acrobat pro and not to the page
Does not seem to work on a mac
    Looked at acrobat javascript
Don’t seem to see any method that would allow a page number
    Under open document
    Open under a URL
    app.launchURL("Document.pdf", true);
seems to error if a #page=2 is add to file name
    Looked at security
Don’t seem to see that there is anything in the preferences that can be set to enable the jump to page action
Looked at privileged and non-privileged and did not see how that would help
    Looked at adding disclosed=true;
    function Disclose()
    this.disclosed = true;
Looked at Portfolios to see if some kind of group of documents would allow the jumps but could not find a solution.
I have not looked at bookmarks to see if I bookmarked every page “Pagexxx” and then jump to the bookmark would get around the problem.
So I am not getting the right combination and could use some help
    Thanks
    John
    Current Systems in use:
    Windows XP
    Acrobat 9 pro version 9.4.4
    Or
Mac OS 10 Lion version 10.7.4
    Acrobat 9 pro version 9.5.1
(note I have limited understanding of Mac’s)
    P.S.
In a similar vain within the word source documents I was able to get a hyperlinks to make the same kind of jump to a page using a VBA macro with the following call:
    Shell "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe  /A page=" & iPageNum & "&Zoom=125=OpenActions """ & sHyperlinkBase & sHyperlinkAddress & """", vbNormalFocus
After parsing the hyperlink and to get file name and  the page number
So I know acrobat pro can be called as an application to jump to a page

    Thanks for that information.
I did not see that the “go to view link” could change documents. I thought it was only within a document.
I manually added two “go to view links” and that seems to work on both mac and pc computers.
    That brings up two questions.
For old files can a acrobat java script batch file be setup to read the hyperlinks in a pdf document  and replace them with a “go to view link” style?
Can one place a “go to view link” style in a word document and then have the adobe convert to acrobat process it into the pdf format with the rest of the document? (or set up the converter to make word hyperlinks change to pdf “go to view links”?

  • Hyperlink from an HTML page directly to an artikle in a pdf document ?

    Hi,

  • Firefox does not load a pdf-page shown by a specific link, but goes slow and finally crasches instead. IE10 does work. Link is fro state official side, smhi.se

I have windows7, just installed and no bugs. As said above, when I try Internet Explorer 10, recently installed, I have no problem looking on this pdf - page.
The page is found by logging in to smhi.se, the swedish wheater service. I have no problem with the majority of information shown there, just one specific page.
It can be found by clicking "Väder", then "Is till havs", then down under click "Istjänsten" and then "Senaste iskarta i färg".
This pdf-document is then loaded very slowly and if I try to navigate on the page it crasches.

First, after clicking the Firefox button in the upper corner, there is not popping up the square on your solution above!
I can not select Applications in that menu-line thus.....because I do not have it!
Instead I get a small square with swedish text. Only thing which resembles me of any action is: Settings (Inställningar), so I chose that and another square shows where strangely enough the same line is about Acrobat is repeated twice. No other settings are repeated twice.....
So I go to the line for Acrobat and change both lines to Acrobat reader
Then I save and go out.
I try again to log into the link I am interested in, but no result, same problem as before.
Has your swedish people done something strange???
    Best regards // Hans Hällström

  • Can a Hyperlink be created in Word to open to a specific PDF bookmark?

I'm learning to create & use PDF files so excuse my newbiness...
I  want to create a Word document (eventually converted to PDF) with a Hyperlink so that it opens a separate PDF file and immediately  position to a particular Bookmark.
I am able to create a  Hyperlink in Word which opens the PDF file in Adobe reader, but I don't know how  to position to a particular Bookmark in the PDF file.
    Is this possible?
    TIA

A Word Hyperlink to a PDF can only provide, in the PDF made from the Word file, a link to the PDF file.
A Word Hyperlink to a Word bookmark that is in the Word file becomes a viable link in the output PDF (if Adobe PDFMaker is configured properly).
A Word Hyperlink in a Word file (Doc1) to a bookmark in a different Word file (Doc2) will be a link to the other file only when Doc1 is processed to create a PDF.
A Word cross-reference, to something in the Word file, that has the 'use as/show as hyperlink' feature selected will be a viable link in the output PDF.
With proper configuration in Word and of Adobe PDFMaker a Word generated TOC (for the open Word file being worked) can result in viable links in the output PDF.
Once you have the PDF you can use Acrobat's Link tool to developed more refined links.
fwiw - In context of setting up more refined links within a document and between documents much more can be done with FrameMaker & InDesign than with Word.
    Be well...

  • Hyperlinks Transfer to PDF From Publisher 2007??

My hyperlinks in Publisher 2007 are not transferring to PDF.  I  have done a video to better explain it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lsB0Pv_XCs.
Thank  you for any help you can give.

Acrobat 9's PDFMaker supports creating links when you convert Publisher 2007 to PDF.
However, the "create link" option must be selected in PDFMaker's Configuration settings.
n.b,. For any Office 2007 application, Acrobat 8.1 or better is required.
Earlier releases do not support Office 2007.
Check you CS4 install. If needed, do the step updates of dot releases to get to the current dot release.
More specifically, for links "on"/"over" an image.
You need to assure that when you use Hyperlink in an Office application the link fully spans the image.
You'd want it to start somewhat to the left of the image and end somewhat to the right of the image.
(if that makes any sense  )
Else, in the PDF page content, the link can be "under" the image and not usable.
    Be well...
