Hyperlinks in 11g (11.1.1.7)

I'm reposting a post from 2 years ago because, as far as I can tell, there is no solution. I'd like to know if anyone has successfully implemented hyperlinks in BIP 11g.
Can anyone share the method of calling a BIP 11g report from a hyperlink in an RTF file, and passing a parameter into that target report?
I have a BIP report that includes the REGION field, which I want to define as a hyperlink. I want to click on one of the values of REGION, and have it open a second BIP report, passing the clicked value into the RGN parameter in that second report.
The method in 10g was reasonably simple. We could assign the basic URL to a variable, then pass in an argument, like this:
Defining the variable: <?variable:Drill_Rgn;string('http://localhost:9704/path_to_BIP_report')?>
Hyperlink to call the report, passing the REGION field into the RGN parameter: {$Drill_Rgn}?RGN={REGION}
In 11g, the URL is significantly different, and has been made MUCH more complex. Instead of the parameter being passed in using the standard '=' method as it was in 10g, the 11g URL has the parameter imbedded inside the URL, as follows:
http://localhost:9704/analytics/saw.dll?bipublisherEntry&Action=open&itemType=.xdo&bipPath=%2F~retro901%2F_filters%2FRetrospectives%2FSubRegion_Sales.xdo&bipParams={"_xmode":"2","_xpf":"","_xpt":"0","_xdo":"%2F~retro901%2F_filters%2FRetrospectives%2FSubRegion_Sales.xdo","*_paramsRGN":"Central"*,"_xt":"Basic1","_xf":"html","_xautorun":"true"}
Notice the inclusion (bolded) of _paramsRGN"."Central"*, where Central is a value of my REGION field in the XML. The value is in double-quotes, and is imbedded within the URL. This is the exact code copied from the Share Report Link option on the BIP viewer screen when Central is the value of the RGN parameter.
Based on ideas from the documentation, I have tried replacing "Central" with: {REGION}, {$REGION}, REGION, %REGION, "{REGION}", "{$REGION}", "REGION", and "%REGION". No luck. The URL does not get formed properly (i.e. the field value is not substituted into the URL). I've also tried the old (10g) syntax. Nothing I've tried will replace the default value of RGN as specified in the data model.
What is the correct method, in 11g, for calling a BI Publisher report from a hyperlink in an RTF file, and passing a field value into a parameter?

Hi all,
does anyone know whether there is any system component pre-requisite, apart from installing xdk, in order for acl to work?
I have this question because after trying different methods we finally made utl_smtp worked on a testing server two days ago (without exactly know what made it work). Then, we tried to redo the whole process (i.e. create brand new database, import data, create acl, run the email function). Out of luck, we fell back to ORA-24247: network access denied by access control list (ACL) problem again. we compared the two databases but found no clue why one working another failed.
By checking the result of the two databases for the following
select host, lower_port, upper_port, acl
from dba_network_acls;
select principal, privilege, is_grant, acl
from dba_network_acl_privileges;
acl on both are the same
Is there any thing we missed out? any hidden pre-requisite?
This is urgent. Could somebody help? please
Some more update:
the database (say X) where acl works has "SYSTEM" as one of the owners of 'UTL_TCP','UTL_SMTP','UTL_MAIL','UTL_HTTP','UTL_INADDR' but in database (say Y) where acl doesn't work "SYSTEM" is not part of owner of 'UTL_TCP','UTL_SMTP','UTL_MAIL','UTL_HTTP','UTL_INADDR'
in X, acl is granted to a role, email invoker with such role can send email successfully;
in Y, both acl on user and acl on role do not work at all.

    are you able to view using xelsysadm? if yes. Provide the view, edit permission for each and every attribute to User's role using Authorization policy.
    If can't able to view using xelsysadm. Hope, you have migrated on other server. Take export of User.xml using Unix Export Utility from dev server and import same using Import unix utility on this server

  • Passing filters to hyperlinks in BI Publisher-Obiee 11g integrated report

    Hi,
    I've a report requirement to build a BIP report in integration with OBIEE.
    In my dashboard, I've a dashboard prompt, obiee reports and a BIP report.
    BIP report contains hyperlinks (created in template builder) which direct me to the obiee report pages.
    Now, when u apply the prompts, BIP report filters the data accordingly and displays it in the same page. (OBIEE reports also gets filtered accordingly).
    After this, when I click on the hyperlinks it takes me to the obiee page which is NOT filtered according to the prompt.
    So I would like to know how do I use the filters in these links?
    Can I please get some help on how to make this work? This is an urgent requirement!
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    You can try these steps
    On the BI Publisher 11.1.1.5, Go to Administration --> System Maintenance --> Server Configuration. Under the catalog heading,Test Connection. If the connection is successful, then click on the button Upload to Bi Presentation Catalog".
    After the above step you should be able to see your folder under catalog.
    Let me know if this helped.

  • Add hyperlink  - Custom sign in page OBIEE 11g

    Hello,
    I a m trying to customize the sign in page.
    We already succeeded, but a file disapeared ad we can't do it again...
    I explain, we have created the path
    /opt/oracle/obiee/middleware/biee11g
    In this path we have :
    customMessages
    sk_pageaideaccueil
    s_pageaideaccueil
    WEB-INF
    In the customMessages we have :
    messages/l_en/
    and the files :
    logonmessages.xml and
    productmessages.xml
    So, we modified some files to add an hyperlink "help" on the sign in page.
    In the logonmessages.xml we add the line :
    <WebMessage name="kmsgSampleMsg1"><HTML><sawm:if name="logonURL"> <a href="/analytics/olh/l_en/scorecard026.htm">Help</a></sawm:if></HTML></WebMessage>^M
    of course kmsgSampleMsg1 = Help is already created too.
    So we are here.
    I have my custom logonmessages.xml file in my custom path and i have the help folder in the original path :
    /opt/oracle/obiee/middleware/Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/web/app/olh/l_en/
    When I write an existing file like scorecard026.htm (or any other file which is from OBIEE) it's okay.
    But if I copy scorecard026 and I rename it helpme.htm, if I write in the path:
    <WebMessage name="kmsgSampleMsg1"><HTML><sawm:if name="logonURL"> <a href="/analytics/olh/l_en/helpme.htm">Help</a></sawm:if></HTML></WebMessage>^M
    It told me 404 error even after retsarting the coreapplication service.
    Do you know what I missing ?
    Thank you,
    Antoine

    Hello JaniRautiainen and thanks for your answer !
    So you have understod quite well the problem
    I just want to add a link to the sign in page so like you said : "there is no change to the actual login behavior".
    After that, when I click on the link "help" tha I have addes on the page, the redirection is fine (the link is working).
    But the page does not work, I have a mistake if I use the name of a file I have added to :
    /opt/oracle/obiee/middleware/Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/web/app/olh/l_en/
    But if I use a file which already exists in this path ,it's working...
    So I think that there is another file somewhere which know the files which are from Oracle or not.
    A new problem now, if I use a file which exists for exemple biee0002.htm, it's working. So when I click on my help link I arrive on this page.
    But now, if I modify the file biee0002.htm and I restart the coreapplication services, the file I see is the same...
    So it appears that I am in the wrong path...
    Do you have something on this ?
    Thank you
    Antoine

  • Where to change the hyperlink of the logo in OBIEE 11g?

    Hi all,
    The title explains the question. Does anyone know the answer for it?
    Thanks in advance.
    -Amith.

    In OBIEE 11g the Logo in the upper-left corner does not have an AHREF reference or tag.
    The only way to change this is to modify the actually header template XML file for the header.
    This should be easy enough to find.

  • Calling a method on click of a hyperlink which opens popup

    Hi,
    I am new to the technology.
    I have a hyperlink on .jspx page. Upon clicking it a pop up should open. I need to pass an object to a methd in the bean which will pre populate data in the pop up as soon as it opens. i.e. want to populate the data in the pop up from the data base. Please tell me how that can be done?
    Using adf 11g jsf 2.0

    1.On click of the hyper link, call a managed bean method. You can set the value to be passed to managed bean method on click of hyperlink via setActionListener.
    Check this for setActionListner example: http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/docs/tagdoc/af_setActionListener.html
    2.And based on that parameter, populate the data from the data base.
    3. After that launch the popup programatically. Read the article with heading How to launch a popup programatically from Java in http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/oct2010-otn-harvest-183714.pdf

    AFAIK, this is not the correct way to set the image location.
    We call the working directory as context, so inside the context root along with WEB-INF, maintain a folder with name img and put all the images in that directory.
    You can use either .\<image_folder> or the optimum way would be (if you are using JSPs) to use getContext() method and traverse accordingly.
    FYI,,, using getContext() will give you context root directory, from there it is as simple as accessing any other folder.
    Hope this answers your question.
    Cheers,
    Jeets.

  • Embedded PDF - How to get hyperlinks to work?

    Using APEX 4.1 - about to go to 4.2, Oracle 11g, IE9
    I have PDFs stored in a table as a BLOB. I display them inline with the EMBED tag on a display item:
    RETURN '<object width="800" height="600" data="'||APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC('P3_DIRECTIVE_PDF',:P3_DIRECTIVE_ID,null,'inline')||'" type="application/pdf"></object>';
    The BLOB displays just fine. However, if the user has any hyperlinks within the PDF document you can hover over the HYPERLINK but you can't click on it (all you get is the stupid little hand as if you were trying to grab the text or something).
    Is there any other way to display the PDF inline and get the hyperlinks to work correctly? When I use the file browse/viewer (which will display the PDF on a new page), the hyperlinks work just fine (so I know the PDF itself is okay).
    Thank you in advance.

    For what it is worth, I duplicated the problem on apex.oracle.com
    WORKSPACE: CHECKDATES
    USERID: GUESTUSER
    PASSWORD: PDFTest
    If you look at the "View Page" tab, the summary report shows the PDF with the link "View Inline". The links work.
    But if you select the pencil icon on the left, when the page is displayed and the PDF embedded into the page, the links don't work.
    Thank you in advance.
    5/21/2013: I guess there isn't a solution to this problem? It is strange because when I embed the PDF into an HTML page without using the BLOB, the hyperlinks work. Which makes me think that something that the GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC routine is doing makes the hyperlinks not work correctly. SIGH.

    Previously i used to use jinitiator for 10g. Is there any configuration need to be done or should i sign the jar files.

    You might want to use google:

  • Dynamic Hyperlink in Publisher  Report.

    Can anyone suggest a way to build a Hyperlink Dynamicaly in a Report based on web site returned with the data?

    Hello again,
    I just noticed there is a bug 11061157 - HYPERLINK WITH DATA PARAMETERS IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY BI PUBLISHER LAYOUT
    I am on 11.1.1.5.0
    Do I need to upgrade to another version for the fix?
    I am trying to create a drill down to another BI 11g report and I cannot pass parameters. I read that there is a bug 11061157 and I need help to implement a work around for this.

  • BPEL Process showing as service in SOA 11g version

    Hi All,
    Morning...need some help with this as we are currently stuck with this.
    In the SOA Suite 10g version (10.1.3.3) when we deployed a parent bpel process making a call to another bpel process ( child process ) via the partner link (by mentioning the complete WSDL location/url for the deployed child process in the partner link). When we see the flow/audit trail for such a bpel process in the BPEL Console it shows the separate flow diagrams of the bpel instances for the parent as well child process..
    Now when we have migrated such a bpel process to SOA Suite 11g (J developer : 11.1.1.4) by opening up the project file ( .jpr ) for both the processes in Jdev 11g version and going through the migration steps in the wizard. It finally says migration to version 11.1.1.4 is successful
    Now we deploy the child process successfully to the server --> Then compile/build the parent process --> deploy this parent as well.
    1.Now when we see the composite.xml for the parent process in Design view it shows the child bpel process partner link in the External References section.
    2.In the front end we invoke the parent process , it completes successfully ..we could see the flow diagram for this parent process..
    But for the child bpel process we don't see a new separate instance created in the front end in the EM console
    Could someone please let us know how this could be achieved so that we could see a separate bpel instance for the child bpel process as well..what settings/properties could be changed..
    We need to see separate instances for the parent as well child bpel process within the BPEL Console.
    With regards

    Hi Todd,
    first of all thanks for your response..i am putting below what exactly is happening.
    1. We trigger the parent process..
    Go to SOA Composite for parent process --> Dashboard --> Recent Instances ---
    there it shows the composite instance id lets say 123 for parent process..
    We click the hyperlink for this instance id --> it opens up the Flow Trace screen -- on the right side it mentions the ECID value. this is correct ...
    Now below it shows the Trace section. here in tabular format it shows below columns :
    Usage Instance Type Composite Instance
    Service parent process name (hyperlinked) BPEL Component composite instance # 123
    Reference child process name web service(local invocation) composite instance # 456
    Now if we need to see the flow trace for the parent process we click the hyperlink just mentioned above and it opens up the flow trace page showing the bpel process instance details for parent process.
    On the top right side it shows the BPEL id for this parent process. this is fine...
    Now if we need to see the same flow details for the child bpel process..how do we see this in the frontend.
    In the older version of SOA 10g Bpel Console 10.1.3.3 we used to see these 2 bpel processes separately in the BPEL Console under the BPEL processes tab & there we could see the instances for the child process with complete flow trace/audit details
    This is the problem we are facing now..hope it is clear now.
    Thanks

  • Hyperlink target connects from Outlook e-mail to file in Oracle database

    Greetings.
    Due to lack of permissions, I cannot create text file on the UNIX server.
    This will not be changed.
    I have stored the file in the Oracle 11g database.
    I want to send e-mail from PL/SQL with attached file.
    No UNIX scripts at all.
    It is a big file.
    Thought crossed my mind.
    Can I send e-mail from PL/SQL containing a hyperlink which connects to the file stored in the Oracle database ?
    The link target is a file stored in the Oracle database.
    Has anyone done this before?
    Let me know your ideas.
    Thank you.

    No UNIX scripts at all.Can be done using UTL_SMTP or the newer UTL_MAIL.
    Attachments to e-mails are just that - the contents of the file is attached to the body of the mail. The mail arrives at its destination, the mail reader recognises the attachment and enables it to be saved to disk (or opened/viewed).
    This is standard stuff.. see MIME for details on how to construct a message body that includes attachments.

    The link target is a file stored in the Oracle database.Yes. You need a web server that has been configured with Oracle "+access+" - the default is using Oracle's Apache server that includes a module called mod_plsql. This module enables the web browser to use a URL that refers to a web enabled PL/SQL procedure in a specific database schema - and pass parameters (as part of the URL's query string) to the procedure.
    You can also use Oracle EPG (Extended Procedural Gateway I think is what the acronym means). This provides a web server directly inside the Oracle instance via the XDB (integrated XML database) option in Oracle. It too has a mod_plsql type module that provides an interface (via http) to web enabled PL/SQL procedures.
    This procedure can be a "+document download+" procedure. Oracle provides a system procedure called WPG_DOCLOAD.download_file()+ that you can use inside that web enabled PL/SQL procedure. This will return the contents of blob/clob as a "file" to the web browser.
    For example, a download web-enabled procedure will simplistically look something as follows:
    create or replace procedure downloadFile( fileName varchar2 ) is
            b       blob;
            mimeType varchar2(50);
    begin
            select
                file_content, mime_type  into b, mimeType
            from my_documents where file_name = fileName;
            OWA_UTIL.mime_header( mimeType, false );
            HTP.p('Content-Length: ' || DBMS_LOB.getlength(b));
            OWA_UTIL.http_header_close;
            WPG_DOCLOAD.download_file( b );
    end;The URL will look something like:
    http://my-webserver.my-domain.com:7777/pls/ora/scott.downloadfile?filename=somefile.docwhere:
    scott.downloadfile = name of PL/SQL procedure
    filename=somefile.doc = parameter name values to pass to procedure

  • Why can't you create image hyperlinks in Yahoo mail??!!

    ''locking - duplicate - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/806494''
    The whole feature that allows images to be entered inline with text is messed up when using Firefox. And you can't make any image a hyperlink! This is a really useful feature that I hate to resort to IE for!! Why can't Firefox get this to work if IE can?? Firefox is better in every way except this one!!

    My oracle version is 11g, Starting in Oracle 11.1, you can use sequences directly in an assignment statement. For example:
    :NEW.id.sbl := sq.gdi.NEXTVAL;You don't have to SELECT it from dual any more.
    and i am not reading it because i don't know where to read. Oracle documentation is available on line. For version 11.1:

    I am trying to use simple sql and not PL/SQL as much as possible.That's great! Your code will be more efficient and easier to maintain.
    As mentioned earlier, you can create as many triggers in the same script as you want to. Whether you use 5 scripts, or 1, or none at all, you have to put a / after the final END; statement in each one. Follow that by SHOW ERRORS to get complete error messages.
    END;
    SHOW ERRORSPersonally, I prefer having a separate script to create each object. If you want to have one script that calls 5 other scripts, use the SQL*Plus START (or @) command. If the 5 child scripts are on the same directory as the parent script, then you can call them like this:
    @@child_script_1
    @@child_script_2
    @@child_script_3
    @@child_script_4
    @@child_script_5
