Hyperlinks in keynote HTML export.

I've created a presentation with Keynote 3 and would like words and objects to link to external web sites.
The links work when the presentation is viewed using Keynote. But when I export to HTML the links don't work.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is this feature not available?

Sigh, well that makes perfect since Apple, have "hyperlinks" built into keynotes that work like a webpage in preview, but when you export to HTML ( a logical choice) have it stop working...
1 this should be an easy fix for apple, make each slide a seperatr HTML file and link between them. Currently it's already exporting each slide as a JPG.
Yes I know Keynote is not meant to be a web design program... But if it can export to PDF, Quicktime, and even Powerpoint, HTML export (that works with hyperlinks) should be easily done...

  • Keynote html exporting

    After creating a keynote presentation, I've exported it in html format, and I've played it.
    But I noticed that the mouse cursor is hidden by passing it on the slide. There's a way to fix it? Maybe editing the files created by Keynote while exporting (assets folder)?

    the mouse cursor is hidden by passing it on the slide.
    This is the correct behaviour,  the pointed hand cursor will only appear over a hyperlink.

  • Keynote html export not displaying correctly in Internet Explorer

    I exported a Keynote presentation to html, uploaded it to my server, and only half of the slide shows in Internet Explorer. Every other browser displays the presenation just fine. Any ideas how to correct the Explorer error?

    Hello! I have a real fix to this issue.
    Open the the player.js file and find the o an u varibles and hard code a resolution, I chose 1280x1024. Choose anything you want it will all work. There's some issue with the varibles that are being passed because as soon as you hard code a resolution it works across the board... All browsers are good.
    o=document.viewport.getWidth();
    u=document.viewport.getHeight();
    are the varibles that you must change... I changed mine to:
    o=1280;
    u=1024;
    and it worked like a charm.

  • Keynote html export edit link

    I have a keynote presentation, let's call it doggie, I exported as html. It created a doggie.html file and and folder doggie_slides. No problems.
    What I want to do is modify the "home" button to jump to an external linked file instead of going to the first slide. I see it's javascript and a "onclick" command.
    I know I'm in the right place because I can make the "home" button go to a different slide rather than the first one. I'm editing the code in BBedit.
    Can anyone give me advice on how to modify the "onclick" command so it goes to whatever url I put in?
    Much obliged

  • Image hyperlinks are lost upon export to HTML

    Hi,
    I have many documents I need to convert to HTML.  I need the images in the documents to be links.  This has worked fine, according to normal procedures if the images are png, jpg, or gifs.  However, most of my images are not those formats.  So if I have an eps, pdf, and tiff in my document, upon html export, there is no hyperlink.  That is, the <a href></a> tags are not in the HTML at all.  But if I convert the images to png, jpeg, or gifs, put them in my document, then choose that file format for conversion, the links work fine.
    I want to say there is an issue with the link tags upon file conversion.  It could be something else, but I am not sure why it works for certain file formats and not others.  I figured ID would keep the association with the hyperling after converting an image from say and eps to jpg.  If anyone knows what if going on, that would be most helpful, or if anyone knew of a good way to keep hyperlinks for images after exporting to HTML, I would greatly appreciate it.
    (I can obviously add the link tags myself in the HTML, or convert the images myself and put them in the docs, but I have many documents and would like some automated way.)
    Thanks for the help!

    Might help if you told us what version of InDesign you're using.

  • Keynote 8 (4.04) HTML export problems.

    The Navigator in my HTML exports works fine in Safari, but all of the hyperlinks are dead...whether to a next slide or a webpage. Also, any "MouseUp" click annoyingly goes to the next slide; can I disable this?
    Grateful for any help.

    Welcome to the forum.
    I first want to commend you on a well-written, and detailed post. Wish that others would take a page from your book.
    Now, the first thing that I notice is the lack of free space on your system (C:\) drive. If your Virtual Memory is dynamically managed (the default), you are likely to be running out of space for it. At least you have 2 physical HDD's, which I feel is the absolute minimum for video editing. I would look into cleaning out some "stuff" on your C:\, to get more working room there. The general feeling is that 30GB of defragmented free space is the min., but I lean towards ~ 50GB, with a statically managed Page File. With 4GB of physical RAM, I would look to a Page File of about 2 - 2.5x the RAM, or 6 - 10 GB. The static management will do two things: take the Page File management overhead off of the OS and also will locate the Page File in the same area of the HDD at boot up. You might want to experiment with placing it on your D:\, as separating it out from the C:\ can result in performance gains on many systems. This needs to be tested, however. I have my Page File on an otherwise pretty empty D:\, but have many more physical HDD's for media, for Projects, for Exported files, etc. My Projects and their Scratch Disks are separately located too, so the entire workload is spread over a half-dozen HDD's.
    Now, I have two articles, that might be useful. The first is to set up a system for video editing, and is HERE. The second is for finding clues, when a program, or system crashes. It is located HERE. There are also several good articles in the FAQ sub-forum, on optimizing both one's system and the PrE program. I highly recommend those.
    Hope that something there is helpful, and good luck,
    Hunt

  • Hyperlinks in Keynote?

    What is happening with Slide to slide hyperlinks in keynote on ipad 2?  I have new keynote software purchased november 2011.  I have read in these forums that the latest updates now allow for this - but it isnt working for me.  Anyone have any information on this?
    Thanks

    I don't understand why Apple took Flash export out of Keynote 09. It's Microsoft that makes software worse with each update not Apple.
    I have created a Keynote slide with clickable links that I want to export to flash for a web site. I have Flash MX, which does not work with Snow Leopard. I have Keynote 08 and 09, but the file was created with Keynote 09, and Keynote 08 can't open it.
    Updating my old Studio MX to Snow Leopard is $400.
    Does anyone have any ideas on how I can create a graphic with clickable links without upgrading to CS4? I have a simple product photo with 9 text callouts that each link to an HTML page describing that product feature.
    Help and thanks!

  • Better navigation in HTML export?

    Hello,
    Keynote's export to HTML provides minimal navigation: go one step forward/backward and go to the very beginning. This is not good enough especially if you have exported all the builds as separate images, and would like to skip through some of it.
    Is there a way to get direct navigability to "end of current slide," "beginning of next slide" and/or "go to slide# n"? I understand it should just be a matter of having the appropriate javascript code in the html file. Is there some tool out there which can look at the directory of the slide images and produce such an html file?
    And, is there any navigation at all possible in flash exports (other than step forward)?
    Thank you!

    Welcome to the discussions, appleprof.
    I haven't examined the html myself, but I would imagine you could manually change the links so that clicking goes to the slide of your choice.
    Also, you might want to look at eZedia QTI. It may give more of the control you want.

  • Keynote PDF Export - black text appears white on some computers, but not all - why?

    This problem seems to have been going on forever, why is there STILL no solution? I'm really keen to mover over to Keynote, cos Powerpoint is very cumbersonme and frustrating in my experience, but I'll only ever use Keynote to export PDFs for presentations, so if it can't even get this basic function right, there's really no point in abandoning Powerpoint - at least I know my docs will come out fine and won't have to be embarrassed when clients come back to me frustrated cos they can't read the text!
    Any thoughts?

    That would because some of the colors you are using are RGB and are being converted to cmyk.
    Make a color swatch in the Color specifier and set the ICC profile in the small rainbow square next to the pull down menu in the color sliders tab.
    Then use that color swatch in set styles to ensure you have the same color set on all your objects and text.
    You should not be using jpegs if you want to ensure an exact color. jpegs are not suitable for flat areas of color.

  • Hyperlink to a html report

    Hi ,
    I`m using LV2009.
    I have simulated a test report of a test board and generated a HTML report in the VI. The generated HTML report is saved in the file in some folder in the hard drive.
    All I wann is the hyperlink to the HTML report in the front panel.
    I saw few posts in the forum on the hyperlink but majority dealt with the excel sheets.
    Looking forward for your solutions.

  • Creating transparent backgrounds in Keynote for export as titles in FCP

    I am creating titles in Keynote and exporting them into Final Cut. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make transparent backgrounds so I can overlay the titles on videos. I have tried "include transparency" but have been unsuccessful. I haven't found any help files to address this situation.
    Many thanks

    1. make sure your slide background is set to NONE, no color, no image
    no nothing
    2. Check the Include Transparency check box when you choose the
    QuickTime export
    3. Choose Custom from the formats pop-up
    4. Click the Settings button
    5. Choose Animation or PNG from the pop-up (it probably says Sorenson)
    6. Choose Millions of Colors+ from the depth pop-up
    Make any other quality or frame settings, and export it. You SHOULD get
    a movie that has a transparent background.

  • Add custom html / scripts to html export

    Hello all,
    I'm looking for a way to add some code into each page after export file to html.
    the code is something like:
    <script type="text/javascript">
      parent.pageVisited[1] = 1;
      </script>
    Is there an easy way to add to each page when exporting file to html?
    Thanks
    Omer

    I don't believe that the HTML exporter is open source, so you cannot alter its behaviour. What you can do is pick up the HTML file created by a Javascript as a textstream and read it line by line in a loop. Search each line for the specific end tag in the HTML line and insert your lines after that position. Finish of by replicating the other remaining lines. Save the textstream.
    This can be done in every programming language in fact. Hope this helped.

  • Weird Tags in Story Editor Breaking HTML export

    Some of my manuscript files will not export to html. After further exploration, we found that in story editor mode, there are weird arrow type characters around text (ie, superscript numbers or within references)  that seem to be the problem. Once the characters are removed, the html exports fine.
    Any ideas as to why these random special characters/tags show up only in the story editor mode and where they come from?

    Here is what I am seeing in story editor mode. These tags don't show up in the normal layout or preview mode.

    Looking to determine what causes these. Could it be leftover Microsoft Word Formating?
