I always have many tabs open in FF, and rely on it restoring them each time I close/open it again. Sometimes I'll have a second window open and will close the main window first, losing a record of tabs I had open. Is there a way around this?
Seems like when FF restores a session, it restores the session of the last window open. If you use tabs as a way of keeping a list of things to do or look at, you have to be careful if you have a second window open to close the second window before your main one, or you will lose your list. I'm absent minded though and do this all the time. The only way to prevent this is bookmark all my tabs once a day, but I tend to forget to do even that. Any workaround for this?
When you re-open Firefox and choose Restore Session, by default it picks up your most-recently-open window, and the other windows should then show up in Recently Closed Windows.
The Firefox add-on Session Manager lets you manage how many closed windows and closed tabs are saved, in case it's not enough.

My folders that my message rules on iCloud divert emails to don't update when I open Mail on my iPad or iPhone. Only the inbox does. I have to click on each folder individually for it to update. A real pain as I have about 30 folders. Is there a way around this ? The folders update on my mac fine when i check mail without having to select each one of them. My Mac has 4 mail accounts coming into it, but you are correct, one of them is a POP account, (and unfortunately it is the main @ account, and is the one associated with my apple id, since we've had it for years). I couldn't figure out how to replace this with the Imap version, short of deleting that account entirely.
Is this what I have to do?

I have a new mac and want to sync my phone to the iTunes on it, but it won't let me manually manage without deleting all music on the phone already from another iTunes. is there a way around this?

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
An alternative which is really not what you should have to do, or the way it is intended to be done, if you properly manage your computer and backups:

Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer (except purchased content as mentioned above). Do not regard your i-device as a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up. -
I have highlighted words in an .iba file. Now I need to increase the space before (and/or after) the paragraph it's contained in. If I increase the space after, the height of the highlighting increases also. Is there any way around this?

I have 5 computers authorized on my account and I would like to deauthorize all of them. When I try it tells me I cannot do so until January 2016. Is there a way around this? I no longer have access to the computers that are authorized.
Did you recently deauthorize a bunch of computers? You can only deauthorize all once year.

I bought a used iPod touch and when I try to set up my iCloud account, it says that the maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this device. Is there a way around this? I thought I could maybe set up the account on my PC and go from there, but it won't let me do that. It is forcing me to set up on the iPod. I have an iMac with a 10.4.11 operating system. When I click on iTunes Store, I no longer get the iTunes screen, instead, I get a new iTunes download screen.

Woke up this am and opened Finder to find no sign of HD icon or a data stick I'd inserted. Couldn't open or eject the data stick as a result. Is there a way around this? Can I reconfugure my Finder to show the HD Icon and also to display data stick or external drives?
"Shut Down" the machine (not Sleep), remove the data stick, then power on the machine.

I have a Netgear NAS which uses Stora software. Mavericks will not let me install the software as it is not from an approved developer. Is there any way around this?
There is, but why do you need the s/w installed? The NAS should have a web admin interface, accessible via ip address (http://<ip address>) which should allow all the needed configuration that is required for it to work with machines running os x.
Try to install as little s/w as you need to do something in Mavericks or any OS as it is usually the cause of future issues or problems.
If you're intent on installing the s/w, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and If you have tried to run it before, it should be listed there. You can then "un-block" it should you wish. -
I have a Belgian Apple ID, but want to use the UK i-tunes store. I get a dialogue box saying "This Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the Belgian itune store". Is there any way around this? Thanks, Jackie and Manuel
When you move to Portugal (very nice, I've just come back from visiting Cascais/Sintra/Sines ) I think you'll just get re-directed to Portuguese iTunes. When I moved to France from the UK I got re-directed to the French store.
To view UK programmes in France I used to subscribe to a VPN server through https://www.my-private-network.co.uk/ (there are others, but very pleased with their service). The catch-up channels (iPlayer, etc) think you're in the UK so you can watch the programmes online. Wouldn't work with iTunes UK store though . -
My home movie DVD folders all have red circle with white dash and won't allow the files to be read. Is there any way around this so I can back up the DVD's on a external HD?
Drag the folders to the external drive, and if prompted, click Authenticate. You'll probably be asked for an administrator password.

The home icon by default has moved to the right hand side of the navigation toolbar.
In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload (Refresh) buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons stop/go/reload buttons, or want to move the home button, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again.
