I am getting bulk junk mail and the sender is using my email address. How do I stop it?

They do not come into my main account, only through Thunderbird. I email myself sometimes, so I cannot make a filter to block myself.

In most cases, someone has acquired your email address and is simply pasting it into the "From:" box when he builds and transmits his spam messages. He hasn't "hacked" your account, and he isn't sending from any equipment you have any control over. Changing passwords almost always has zero effect, since he isn't logging in as you. Have you ever found any of these messages in your Sent folder?
You started a thread, then posted a reply in a separate thread. It's easy enough when you get an email notification of a reply to your thread, as the link in the email will bring you straight here.

Since you have no control over what any 3rd party does on his own computer (or more likely, an "owned" or hijacked computer) you can't stop him.
Anyway, why bother with a filter if the bad messages are being placed into Bulk or Spam? Your email provider's anti-spam system would appear to be doing its job. And if they aren't labelled as Spam or Junk, don't be afraid to do so yourself. Good spam and junk filtering is bit more sophisticated than just looking at the ostensible "From:" address; it will also be looking at IP addresses and checking against blacklists for known spam sources, and using heuristics to identify patterns.

I gave my wife an iPad 3 and set it up using her email address as the Apple ID. When I try to turn on iMatch so she can play our music from iCloud on her new iPad it tells me that she needs a subscription to iTunes Match. Is it Apple's intent that we would need two iTunes Match subscriptions? If not, how do I accomplish what I want to get done?

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

Now as you may know there is some icons at the bottom of the mail app, at the top left conner you should have the inbox button and on the upper right conner you should have two arrows to shift between emails. If any of those options works try :
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings
If that does not work try to re add the account
Last but not least, restore as new.

Start here (change country if necessary) and navigate to 'Password and Security', reset your security questions using the link provided, you will receive an email to your rescue address, use the link in the email and reset your security questions.
If that doesn't help, you don't receive a reset email or you don't have a rescue address, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, if you can't get the password for that email account reset then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

Getting a notification mail to the sender if the email sending is failed.

I have a requirement where the customer statements are to be sent via email to the customers.However the emails are being sent correctly but now the client is asking for an email notification (like mailer daemon)to the sender if the receiver is not able to receive the mail due to some reason say incorrect mail address or any other reason.This is to notify the sender that the customer has not received any email which has been sent by the sender.
Can u please suggest how to handle the failed emails..

A Basis setting has to be done as below.
Transaction SCOT>Settings>Confirmation of receipt.
The radio button SAPConnect expects receipt confirmation for receipt mail.

Hello, ... When i get an incoming email from a person and it is cc'ed to a whole list of people (separate email addresses) --> how do i put all those listed email addresses into my address book/ contact list?
For example, when i get an email from my kid's hockey coach and i want to contact every other parent that is listed on that cc list, ... how do i easily add all those on that list?

Right-click on each desired (separate) contact, and select "Add to Address Book."
Then make a calendar Group, name it Hockey, and individually drag those new contacts to the Soccer Group.

I don't know if it is from Firefox, bu you can try the DO NOT TRACK setting from the browser.
Go to Menu-> Settings-> and enable the Do nit track options.

I have lost my mail and the bullet on bottom of page. How do I restore?

I have a Macbook Pro and I have done something that has lost my mail. I have tried going to the mail account but I cannot figure out what I have done. Also I have lost the rocket that usually appears at the bottom of my window. I think it may be something I have done but not sure what it was.

Go to Settings>iTunes and App store and sign out of existing account and sign into the one you want.
Note:
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

With iOS5, I have two accounts on my iMac (my regular acct and my iCloud) and it is the same way on my iPad. On my iMac, I have iCloud as the default. I don't quite understand this iCloud thing yet. I've started getting pop-under ads every time I launch Firefox, and the uninstall instructions don't make sense, how can I stop these?

In the past couple of weeks, every time I launch Firefox, a full-size pop-under ad is also launched, regardless of what site I'm browsing.
The original ad was for a You Tube survey, and contains a link to coupondropdown.com, where there's a menu option for uninstalling. The uninstall instructions don't make sense, they don't mention what ad-on is controlling the ads, and I can't work out what's responsible for the ads from my very basic range of ad-ons.
The reason I'm writing is that the ads have progressed from annoying but harmless, to dangerous. The ad today was designed as a warning pop-up, text reads, "Threat Detected: Immediate Action Required. Fatal Registry Error ... click "Repair All" to eliminate all possible threats and clean your PC". I have screenshots of all the above.
I'm worried that another user, my son or mother, might take this warning seriously and install malware by accident. What can I do to prevent these ads? I expect this type of malware advertising on dodgy websites, but I'm getting them when I try to access hotmail, the news, etc, so it's not the website that's causing them.

Found the source using Microsoft Safety Scanner on a full scan. The culprit was a Trojan:Win32/Sirefef!cfg

Aliases have disappeared from Mail and I am left with one email address!!

For no apparent reason all my email aliases have gone and I have the choice of one!
Does anyone know how I can retrieve them?

Take a look in your Preferences>Accounts>Advanced to make sure the "Enabled" option hasn't been unchecked. That might cause the problem. Mine occasionally go awol and checking Enabled usually solves the problem.
