I am having issues with my iPhoto application. Anytime I connect my camera to my computer and try to import the photos, iPhoto crashes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but still no luck. How can this be fixed?
I have read other posts similiar to my problem to try those solutions such as searching for 3ivx add-on but it was not found on my computer. Not sure how to get iPhoto to start working again.
I import photos and the last time I imported photos was in November. Just recently I've tried importing photos again, with the same camera to the same version of iPhoto by connecting my camera and when I click "import" the program freezes and closes. After iPhoto closed the first time I thought that it was just an update that it needed so I updated iPhoto to the latest version. The same problem with importing is still occuring.

is this a known issue?
If you close Firefox properly the problem will practically disappear.
To close Firefox properly:
:Closing Firefox ''(#close_firefox)'', avoid getting Firefox already running messages: To properly shutdown Firefox when multiple windows or closing the
last window use File → Exit/Quit (or Firefox button → Exit). Closing Firefox with the [X] in the upper right corner closes the window ("Ctrl+W") but that does not necessarily close Firefox if it has subtasks running. If you want to close and reopen Firefox use the "Restart" within Add-ons if you made a change requiring a restart, or install "[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/restartless-restart/ Restartless Restart]" ("Ctrl+Alt+R") which will allow you to take Firefox down and restart without having to check the Windows Task Manager to see if Firefox first actually ended. ([http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs Firefox hangs])
In checking the Windows Task Manager be sure to check the "Process" tab not the "Application"tab/ -
Why are my ap icons all gray? I restarted iPhone 4s already but still gray. How can I fix this? Please help!!!
Are you signed into your phone with the same AppleID as that which was used to purchase your apps?

Why am I having trouble loading apps and updates on my iPad? I have closed out all my apps and rest my iPad but still no luck. Can someone help me please?
Try a reset, press and hold both the home and power buttons for 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own.

I am using an early 2008 MacBook Pro and am having issues with it deleting text on its own (in word, emails, etc.). As I am typing it all of a sudden starts deleting and I can't stop it. This happened once before and it was due to a buldging battery pressing on the track pad. I checked the battery and it appears to be fine. What can I do?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -
My IPad crashes every time I use an application. It keeps crashing to the desk top where all the other apps are at. It doesn't matter what application I'm in either. How can this be fixed?
Hey Hlrj09,
I'd check out this article and follow the troubleshooting steps within:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1702
Even though it is geared towards applications purchased from the App Store and you're experiencing the issue with all apps, most of the steps would still be applicable to your situation. I would also take a look at the troubleshooting assistant to see if that helps:
Frozen or unresponsive iPad
http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/ipad/
Hope that helps,

I have an iPhone 4 still running 6.1.3 software. A few days ago it stopped working through my car's USB connection (I have a 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid). I can no longer control my music through my car's stereo system. I am unable to choose what song, album, playlist, etc. to be played and cannot skip songs. When I try to skip, it reverts back to the first song. When I choose what to be played directly on my phone, it can only be played for about 30 seconds through my car's stereo system before it stops and displays the message "Unsupported Version." How can this be fixed? (Also, I know it is my iPhone and not my car because someone I know has the same exact car as me from 2009 and it did the same thing on theirs.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This problem is extremely frustrating and the alternative of trying to change music directly on my phone while driving is a risk I am not willing to consider. Thanks!Alright, sorry for not having browsed this page a bit more before stating my question. I have just found some other similar topics on this problem. Please don't reply this thread unless there actually is a solution to the problem, because at current time there is not.

Safari 5.1.7 does not open PDF How can this be fixed?
I have been having to use Firefox to see PDF's. How can this be fixed in Safari 5.1.7 ?
Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -
I have tried everything including reseting my iPhone5c but still can't connect to App Store, and it's been over a week now! Totally annoyed now!! I'm not sure if it started after I updated my iOS cos I was able to update a few other apps. I just can't connect to neither apps store nor iTunes! I need help else I'd boil this phone alive!
Hello IamJudekow,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with connecting to the App Store on your iPhone 5c. I found a couple of articles I recommend for this issue.
First, I recommend using the steps in the section titled “Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch” in the following article (the article title refers to the iTunes Store, but the steps are relevant for the App Store as well):
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
If the issue persists after following the steps in that section, I recommend continuing with the steps in the section titled “Isolate the issue: (Mac OS X, Windows, iOS)” in the article below:
iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Best,

I just downloaded episode 3 of Top of the Lake and there is no audio for dialogue. How can this be fixed?
I'm curious if anyone can verify if this issue has been fixed or still remains? Also, I'm curious as to which stores are being used, as this is important in knowing where the corrupted index lays.

Wonder why the auto-saves were kind of all over the place as far as their numbers and my progress? Oh well!!
A few years ago I looked at the ordering of those AutoSaves, but could not find the thread. So, I decided to look at Premiere Elements
13/13.1 ordering of the AutoSaves.
My Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoSave settings were the following to speed things up
Automatically save every minute(s) = 1
Maximum Project Versions = 5
In the Adobe Premiere Elements AutoSave Folder were:
My new video project-1.prel (first and the oldest)
My new video project-2.prel
My new video project-3.prel
My new video project-4.prel
My new video project-5.prel (last and the newest)
I am OK with the first 5 with the maximum project versions = 5, but.....
Since I have set for only 5 versions, where do the subsequent versions go every 1 minute since you continue to
see only the above file names in the Adobe Premiere Elements AutoSave Folder.
My new video project-1.prel
is now the 6th AutoSave and replaces the original first AutoSave.
My new video project-2 prel
is now the 7th AutoSave and replaces the original second Auto Save.
Since I did 7 AutoSaves, this is the last and the newest.
My new video project-3.prel is still the original third AutoSave.
My new video project-4.prel is still the original fourth AutoSave.
My new video project-5.prel is still the original fifth AutoSave.
So, after the generation of the 10 th AutoSave, all the original 5 AutoSave would be gone,
and the My new video project-5.prel would then again become the last and the newest)
As for the question about
Can I re-save this auto-save under a different name?
Yes, but review the Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks for the locations of the scratch disc. If same as
project, then those scratch disc will end up in the folder with the AutoSave which has become your project.prel.
A battery failure was at the core of this situation. So you should be OK moving forward.
Best wishes

Updated to iOS 7.0.4. Now a restrictions passcode has been set, not by me. How can this be fixed without resorting to factory restore?
Hi Mullan13,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Restoring your device is the solution for this issue, but if a backup was made you can also use that after the restore. This article provides details on how to go about this:
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
I realize it may not be the solution you were seeking but you should be back on track after performing these steps.
Cheers,

I have tried the troubleshooting methods, restarted my phone, checked airplane mode, turned wifi off, hard rebooted the phone, and it still won't send picture messages. It is becoming increasingly frustrating. How can this be fixed to send MMS and Picture messages.
@daphilli64
I see you have already tried a number of troubleshooting steps in an attempt to resolve this picture messaging issue. When did this problem begin? Please tell me your device current software version number: http://vz.to/1nu1lwh. Let me know so that I can further assist. Thanks!
