I am having trouble with plug-ins. How do I cure this? The last time I believe I had to update my operating system. My current operating sytstem is MAX OSx , Version 10.6.8
I am having trouble with plug-ins being blocked. I have an I-Mac, 2.4 Ghz processor, 2 GB memory, and using Safari as my browser. My operating system is MAC OSX Version 10.6.8
Any particular plugin or all of them? If Adobe Flash Player, try un-installing and then re-installing.

TS2518 Anyone else having trouble with plug-ins in Aperture 3.2.3?
I am having problems with Aperture 3.2.3 using my Nik plug-ins. I have updated everything from my iMac to Aperture to my plug-ins. I've done a repair permissions, restarted, and all that as well.
The problem is that when I edit a photo using my plug-ins, and hit save, instead of it normally rendering all the changes, the photo appears normal. If I have more than two edits, and I hold scroll all the way over (from first to last), it will show the edits to the last photo only, but only as long as I continue to hold the scroll arrow, once I let go, it returns to normal. Other times, when I edit a photo, hit save, it appears normal, but if I close Aperture, reopen it, the edits are there. Obviously, this is not very conducive to getting much done. I have Photoshop 12.0.4, but my plug-ins are specific to Aperture, and I actually prefer Aperture, but I've had minor stabilty issues with it from day one, and this is just really problematic.This is a known issue:

I'm not sure how to post a message. I hope this might interest someone. The situation; 3 floors,I am having trouble with an an Airport Extreme, 802.11n on the top floor and a Mac Pro 3.1 on the bottom floor. Not always but often it has trouble seeing the Airport and making a connection. I have an older Airport Express, would it help to install it? would it work best if it was installed in the same room? should it be installed half way in between? Get another Extreme? The Mac Book Pro on the middle floor can see 11 networks in the neighbourhood if that might be causing a problem or would if I installed the Express. Thank for your consideration.

I appologize for the font and colour, I compossed the question in pages and failed to notice the font colour as grey ... there are a variety of computers of various ages so I think it is using a setting that allows both 5G and 2.4 ... the connection to the Airport is thru a cable modem and cable does run throuhout the house ... maybe those hard wires would be a place to look at ... do you think that putting the 'Express' on the second floor might help ... thanks again ...

I am having trouble with my iPad, i can start it, but the iPad does not work. i tried to use the power and home button at the same time, the apple logo appears, but the iPad does not work. What am I suppose to do?
After the Apple logo appears, what happens then? Can you hear any sounds or if you tap on the screen, does it seem like apps can open or are you just seeing a black screen? You might have a hardware problem, but you can try restoring the software and see what happens.
Read this in its entirety before you do anything. Make sure you read the sections at the end about using recovery mode.

I am having trouble with my Apple ID and AppStore
Here are the steps I have taken and the results:
Changed my Apple ID with new email address.
Changed my iCloud with above new email address.
NOW - Apple ID appears correct in AppStore Settings, iCloud and AppStore*
If I scroll to bottom of screen in *App Store/Featured, I can see that the Apple ID is my new email.
Upon “updating” Apple ID reflects OLD email.
Deleted accounts, re-added accounts.
Signed out and signed in with new UN/Email
Issue remains the same.To migrate your data to a new iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud and turn off all synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.), when prompted choose to keep the data on your phone. After everything is set to off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, create the new iCloud account on your phone and turn on syncing for contacts, calendars, etc again. If prompted, choose Merge. This will upload your data to the new iCloud account.

I would think (from your original post) that the document was created in Numbers '08. Numbers 3.2.2 will not open a Numbers '08 document. Hence the message to save in Numbers '09. It looks as though your colleague must export to Excel and send you the Excel version.

ThanksThis is a strange question, not sure where you are going with this one. On the computer you Restored with, iTunes requests to back up the iPhone. These are time stamped and stored on the computer. You can use iTunes to search the list of back ups of your iPhone and see the dates, so you can at least see the dates of the back ups.

Is anyone else having trouble with Siri calling someone from your Contacts on the Iphone 5?
Has anyone had trouble with Siri on the Iphone 5 in dealing with your Contacts. She gives all of the correct information on scores for the NFL but not if I ask her to call somebody in my contacts. She has no trouble with which movies are playing tonight at my local theaters.
If I ask her to call someone from my Contacts, she takes a very long time and then says something like this, "Uh oh, there's a problem. Can you try again?" or something of this nature. Any help appreciated. BTW I download my information from Itunes and also had to change my sim card in order for Verizon to keep my same telephone number.I have not had this problem. I am new to Siri (with an iPhone 5 upgrade from an i4) and Siri has made a number of calls from my contacts. She asks, which John Doe (if I have more than one), which number (if I have more than one) and off we go.

Well, it certainly could be a factor. Many Newstand apps are multimedia, and contain sizable files. However, once the download is complete, everything needed to view the issue is generally there, at least in my experience (mostly with NatGeo). Its possible US Weekly is different and designed to access live internet content.

There's a number of potential problems here, and they may not necessarily be at your end.
First of all, it should be clear that CMYK is not so much a generic "image mode" as it is a description of specific press conditions. If you produce final CMYK, you must have the right profile. Don't use Image > Mode, use Convert to Profile.
Given that, I would question anyone who doesn't accept Adobe RGB photographs for a magazine article, because it implies a process that isn't properly color managed and generally not up to date. A standard workflow today would use InDesign, where images are normally placed in their original RGB space whatever that is. Then the conversion to final output CMYK is done as the last step, when producing a press-ready PDF from InDesign.
It helps tremendously if you know that final CMYK, because then you can proof to that so your file survives the CMYK conversion with the least possible damage (we're talking gamut clipping here; not general color shifts). But it's not absolutely required, which is why this workflow is relaitively safe.
Third, CMYK jpeg is in itself risky, because many jpeg decoders (in some software) don't have proper CMYK support. The result can be weird colors. This could well be the problem here, because it sounds as if your client uses a non-standard workflow.
So what to do? I would send two files. One sRGB as reference, which is guaranteed to come through correctly. Then find a way to send TIFF for the CMYK version if they insist, or ask them to try opening it in different software. Of course you should have a calibrated and profiled display, but I agree that's probably not the immediate problem here. There's no particular reason a CMYK file should come back with twisted colors if it's opened and processed in properly color managed software. -
Hard drive crashed, having trouble recovering photos. How can I do this?
My hard drive crahsed a while ago, so I had to buy an external one to hook up to my mac to replace it. After the crash, I used this external hard drive as my new computer. The old hard drive was broken, it wouldn't let you edit or change any files on it, but it let you view all of its contents, and open it. You just couldn't delete, remove, or change anything, it's like a read-only file. All of my photos were on that hard drive, and I found the iPhoto Library, where they were all stored. Like I said, I can open these files on my new hard drive, so that's what I tried to do, but it says that it can't open the Library, because the version of iPhoto I have is a later version than what the iPhoto library is. This is probably because my OS went through many updates on my new hard drive, after the old one broke.
How can I recover these photos on the older iPhoto Library? Right Now, I have iPhoto '08, 7.1.5, so the library i'm trying to open is some version earlier than that, though I don't think I went through many updates, so it's possible it's still '08, just an earlier version.
Does anybody have any advice?FIrst off it sound like you might have a permissions problem with your old drive - you could try the support forum for your computer to see if anyone there can assist in actually fixing that problem
As to upgrading - each newer version of iPhoto can open (and convert as needed) older versions of the library - so iPhoto '08 version 7.1.5 should be able to open (and convert as needed) any library from iPhoto 1 through iPhoto '08
If the conversion is not working then you have a damaged library and need to load your backup or rebuild the library after backing up - depress the command and option keys and launch iPhoto and rebuild the library
