I am missing my tools including bookmarks, frequently visited sites, etc. at the top of my home page? How do I bring them back?

Other tools missing are EDIT, TOOLS, FILE

Toggle Menu Bar (when hidden) click '''Alt + F10(in keyboard) to see it again'''.
or if you are in Full screen click F11(in keyboard).

Hi youssef8888, you might also want to search your entire C drive to see whether your bookmark backup files might be in an unexpected location. I would try this pattern:
bookmarks-2013*.*
To make sure your search checks for hidden files and folders, see this article from Microsoft: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files].

• I am missing the choices of "File, Edit, View, Tools, etc., at the top of my page, how do I get them back?

at the top of the screen....where you can click on FILE or EDIT or VIEW or TOOLS....etc., that entire line is missing from my Firefox window....how do I get them back?

Firefox 3.6+ versions have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.
Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark.
The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.
• My "Bookmarks" button is missing from my Menu Bar which is at the top of my screen. How can I get it back?

I'm using version 3.6.8

If it's the entire menu bar that's gone, you just need to press ALT or F10 in your keyboard to make the Menu Bar temporarily visible. If you want it to be permanently visible, go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'', or right-click the Navigation Toolbar (the Reload button, for example) and select ''Menu Bar''.
If this doesn't help, right-click the navigation toolbar, select ''Customize...'' and click ''Restore Default Set''. If it doesn't appear right away, try pressing ALT or F10. You can go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'' to make it permanently visible, or right-click the Navigation Toolbar and select ''Menu Bar''.
If none of this helps, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Try disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal.

• My frequently visited sites which used to be on a tool bar have disappeared when Firefox upgraded itself in the last few days. How to get them back?

There used to be a bar with my frequently visited sites just below the search bar. It disappeared with the upgrade. How do I get it back? I don't understand the terminology in the help video

Was it the Bookmarks Toolbar? You can display the Bookmarks Toolbar below the main toolbar in a number of ways.
* right-click a blank area of the tab bar > Bookmarks Toolbar
* right-click the "+" button on the tab bar > Bookmarks Toolbar
* tap the Alt key to open the classic menu bar (File, Edit, View), the click View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar
Any luck?

• I ran the update. i lost my "tools bookmarks file ect. how do i get them back

I ran the update to i think 3.6 Before the update i had the words " file view etc across the top. now they are gone how do iget them back?

Can't see the Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, History...Help)? Hold down the key and press the following letters in this exact order: V T M
The Menu Bar should now be displayed permanently, unless you turn it off again (View > Toolbars). Turning the Menu Bar on and off is a new feature in version 3.6.

• I have been dragging my files to a external drive to have a back-up for them and I lost some of my folders. They just went completely missing. I didn't delete them, and it was all stuff that I have worked on in the past month. How do I get them back?

You really should be doing backups with an actual backup application, especially one that will work automatically, and, if your external HD is large enough, back up your entire system. These can automatically back up only what's changed since the previous backup, and some will keep "archive" copies of things you've changed or deleted, also.
Too many things can go wrong, such as your internal HD failing, and you'll have a major project to reinstall everything.
You already have Time Machine, built-in to OSX. You might want to review the Time Machine Tutorial, and perhaps browse Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.
#27 in the second link mentions some alternatives, too.

• All my bookmarks and personalized start page are GONE. Where are they and how do I get them back?

I opened Firefox & was told it had automatically updated to 3.5 (yes that is what it said). ALL my bookmarks, my bookmarks toolbar and my other two toolbars are GONE, my personalized home page is GONE. How do I get them back? VERY frustrated with Firefox which has been crashing a LOT lately, and several other updates have taken away my personalized home page. Why can we not keep these even tho you update?? Loosing my bookmarks is NOT ok with me. My Xmarks and delicious are Missing... HELP!
== This happened ==
Just once or twice
== Firefox auto updated to version 3.5. It was ok yesterday

OK. It was Firefox 3.5.x that was on autoupdate (which I stopped now so I have to be asked before updating) on a Mac Book Pro (31/2
yr. old but updated with more Memory & larger hard drive (not sure I have that right, but now is 3GB Memory and 250GB hard drive Intel Core 2Duo). Using several places from the link cor-el (above) gave me, I finally found a copy of my bookmarks and have them back.
While trying to find my personalized homepage, I went to a google add-on for finance after adding several other items to a new inprogress homepage, and out of the blue, my old homepage shows up when I click on the google finance gadget! I could not believe it. And all my other stuff was on there. I immediatley saved it to my Bookmarks, to my idisk and remade it my homepage for igoogle.
Now, how do you explain that? Anyway, I am now back and good to go, just scared to update to the FF 3.6x version for fear of similar problem.
The only thing missing now is the 2nd toolbar that I don't remember what it was so guess I won't miss it. The other was the NPR one which I got back from NPR website.
Thanks folks!

• I have lost the glyphs that sit on the left side of my bookmarks. How do I get them back?

I have lost the glyphs that sit on the left side of my bookmarks. How do I get them back? They have been there, but as of a few days, they are gone.

Hi carl82,
Can you be more specific as to what is missing? What was the function of these ''glyphs''? You might want to try starting Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the ''Option'' key while Firefox is starting. If you disable all themes and add-ons and everything looks right again, you can try turning things back on one by one until you find the culprit.
Do you mean the icons for your bookmarks are missing? If that's the case, you should take a look at [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/latest-firefox-issues#os=mac&browser=fx9 this article] that discusses some of the issues with the latest build of Firefox.
There is some information in there that should help you to resolve your issue. Luckily, it is a very easy fix.
Hopefully this helps!

• I've suddenly lost multiple apps (including settings, App Store, iTunes, camera, photos etc). How do I get them back?

I've suddenly lost multiple apps (including settings, App Store, iTunes, camera, photos etc). How do I get them back?

Thanks for replies, however...
Tried turning off/on and hard resetting - didn't work.
Spotlight search didn't find them either.
Had about 5 pages of apps - now only have 2 so they're not on another page.
The settings app is missing too so can't reset through settings.
They were all there last night but my ipad is almost empty when I picked it up tonight.
