I am needing to recreate a logo urgently.  What is the best method to do this?

I have a low res image and I need to create it again.  Please help.

In the past I have had to acquire Client logos to use in promotional videos but often the contact doesn't know where to get them from, or I am working on a deadline out of office hours.
One workaround is to run a Google search to find only PDF's with the companies name in the search criteria - for example:
"tinto toner cartridges" filetype:pdf
This will return relevant PDF documents which you can open and look for the logo - obviously a vector format is desirable. Once found either place the relevant page of the PDF into Illustrator or use the Edit Object Tool via Adobe Acrobat Pro to Edit the logo. Release clipping masks if required and ungroup until you're left with what you need.
I was able to extract this in literally just a few minutes and it appeared in the first Google search result.

  • I need to "update" BSEG-SGTXT. What is the best way to do this?

For a bunch of FI documents, the BSEG-SGTXT has been entered wrong while creating the documents. We need to change the BSEG-SGTXT values. What would be the best method to do this. We understand, direct table updates are risky and not suggested. Also BSEG-SGTXT is duplicated in other tables, like BSIS, BSID etc. We wanted to get some BAPI/ other FM. But we have not found any such one till now.
Can anyone suggest a suitable method for this problem?

Hi kaushik just check this Fm to change the text ..
    BAPI_EXPENDITUREPROGTREE_SVRPV
    also check
    BAPI_EXPENDITUREPROGTREE_CHVAL
    hope this helps regards,

  • I am trying to make a pdf of a file and I need to get the file size to be no bigger than 10MB. What is the best way to do this

I am trying to make a pdf of a file and I need to get the file size to be no bigger than 10MB. Even when I save it, the image quality at minimum the file size is 10.9 MB. What is the best way to do this

@Barbara – What purpose is that PDF for? Print? Web?
If web purpose, you could convert CMYK images to sRGB. That would reduce the file size as well.
A final resort to bring down file size is:
    1. Print to PostScript
    2. Distill to PDF
That would bring file size down even more. About 20%, depending on the images and other contents you are using, compared with the Acrobat Pro method. If you like you could send me a personal message, so we could exchange mail addresses. I could test for you. Just provide the highres PDF without any downsampling and transparency intact. Best provide a PDF/X-4.
I will place the PDF in InDesign, print to PostScript, distill to PDF.

  • HT1451 I need to move my library from my old computer to my new laptop. What's the best way to do this?

I need to move my library from my old computer to my new laptop (Windows 8). What's the best way to do this?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • When I upgrade from OS10.5.8 to Snow Leopard will all my data transfer.  If I need to back up what is the best way to do this?

I plan to upgrade from OS10.5.8 to Snow Leopard. Will all my data, applications and settings transfer automatically?
If I need to back up what is the best way to do this?

If everything works perfectly, your data should not be touched.
Personally I never trust my data to everything working perfectly.
I always backup everything twice at least.

  • Do Macbook Pros need antivirus protection? if so, what is the best antivirus protection software?

Do Macbook Pros need antivirus protection? if so, what is the best antivirus protection software?

Mac OS X versions 10.6.7 and later have built-in detection of known Mac malware in downloaded files. The recognition database is automatically updated once a day; however, you shouldn't rely on it, because the attackers are always at least a day ahead of the defenders. In most cases, there’s no benefit from any other automated protection against malware.
The most effective defense against malware is your own intelligence. All known Mac malware takes the form of trojans that can only operate if the victim is duped into running them. If you're smarter than the malware attacker thinks you are, you won't be duped. That means, primarily, that you never install software from an untrustworthy source. How do you know a source is untrustworthy?
Any website that prompts you to install software, such as a “codec” or “plug-in,” that comes from that same site, or an unknown site, is untrustworthy.
A web operator who tells you that you have a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with your computer, or that you have won a prize in a contest you never entered, is trying to commit a crime with you as the victim.
“Cracked” versions of commercial software downloaded from a bittorrent are likely to be infected.
Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash, must be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. No intermediary is acceptable.
Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be as safe from malware as you can reasonably be.
Never install any commercial "anti-virus" products for the Mac, as they all do more harm than good. If you need to be able to detect Windows malware in your files, use ClamXav -- nothing else.

  • Hi, I bought my iPhone in Canada but have moved to Australia. I need to speak with someone at Apple Canada what is the best way to do this? Is there is an e-mail address?

Hi, I bought my iPhone in Canada but have moved to Australia. I need to speak with someone at Apple Canada what is the best way to do this? Is there is an e-mail address? When I call the Apple Canada number it says I can't call from my location.

In what way did you buy your iPhone? If you paid full price at the Apple Store then your phone should be provider unlocked and should work with practically any SIM card you choose to insert in it. If you bought it cheaper with a contract then it's provider locked then your best bet is to call your cellular provider in Canada. Be sure to note your IMEI number (Settings > General > About) as they're going to need it to do an unlock. Be aware they may or may not charge for this.

  • I have a lot of movies on my computer and need to free up memory.  What is the best solution, if I think I may need these movies in the future?

I'm an elementary music teacher and my students perform regularly so I have a lot of their performances on my computer.  Now I need to free up memory so am wondering what the best solution would be, given that I may need access to these movies again in the future.
I do have an external hard drive, but have never been able to figure out if you can store movies on it, instead of on the computer hard drive.
    Thanks so much!

    Good evening,
I see you have another post about deleting movies and iDVD projects.  Wanting the video to be available in the future is a significant criteria because video files are very large and are very compressed to fit on a DVD.   If you want the video to be available in the future for additional editing (eg, highlights of the year), ideally you'd want to save the video in a format which will easily allow this.   To me, this suggests you delete the iDVD projects but keep the iMovie files for future editing.  This accomplishes the easy editing objective but keeps a lot of large files on your hard drive (each iMovie/iDVD project will be about 20% smaller -- assuming a 4 to 1 compression).
If you are willing to accept some additional work in the future and are okay with some reduction in video quality, you can pull sections from an existing DVD and use iMovie to combine them.  The extra work is required to decompress the DVD, and this is also the reason for loss of some sharpness.  This strategy reduces the file size of your combined projects by about 80% if you save disc images (virtual DVDs), or if you save the physical  DVDs, you save 100% of the space.
I'd decide about the tradeoffs before jumping into action.

  • I need to install cc on my new MacBook and remove it from my old MacBook. What is the best way of doing this?

Well, as above really. Should I just install again? Or do I export from my old MacBook?

Don't try exporting it. Adobe software needs to be installed.
On the new MacBook, sign in to creative.adobe.com with your Adobe ID, download the Cloud app then install your apps.
You can leave it installed and activated on the old MacBook since you're entitled to 2 simultaneous activations.
Or you can deactivate on the old MacBook. Launch any Cloud app and click Help > Sign Out. That will deactivate the entire suite.

  • I need to get rid of Maverick and go back to Snow leopard 10.6.8    What is the best way to do this

I do not want to lose my 20,000 photos, so I need to delete Maverick ASAP.

Thjis issue is now resolved.  I restarted, the Apple with the option key pressed, then choose my time machine back up disk to rebbot from, and then chosse the date i wanted to reboot from.  The HD was automatically erased, and the previous system and all of its files were installed.  It took almost 8 hours to complete the project, but at least I got all of my photos back.  Now I want my money back from Apple, the $15 I had to spend to get my Iphoto app to work on Maverick.
Maverick has got some nice featuresw to it, but when I can not open my photos, 21,0 0 0  It just aint worth it to have the latest OS.
Mavericvk is so sick. . .  Fix it Apples

  • I really need to speed up my IMAC.  I purchased a new external drive specifically formatted for apple.  I also would like to move some other media (movies and music) to this external drive.  What is the best method for this?

Please help...I need to delete iphoto pictures and back up to external drive without losing pictures. I have the external drive and would like to start this process.  Can you help?

Formatted for Mac is not a format - for iPhoto you MUST verify that it is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled)
and putting your iPhoto library on an external drive is NOT a backup - you MUST have a good backup plan like Time Machine running or you are 100% guaranteed to lose your photos sooner or later
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
other media questions need to be ask in the forum for the software you use for them - this forum is only for iPhoto and the above instructions are only for iPhoto

  • Urgent: What is the best uptodate approach to generate Webpage from Forms

    Hello,
We are in 10g, with Portal + SSO.
We have a Forms application that need to generate a webpage (with SQL queries).
In 8i, I used JSP for generating this webpage, it worked well in 8i.
But in 10g, I experience pb (and I cannot get any good solution) ....
To quickly summarise, it seems that the webserver doesn't interpret
the JSP code (no connexion, and even not possible to display an
"out.println" message.... HTML code seems ok)
So, I need to go forward, and I suppose that I need to convert my code into another technology.
I had the suggestion to use JSTL, but my administrator thinks it's an old tools, and I should use something newer and better !!!
Do you have any suggestion and advices ....
    Thanks a lot,
    Olivier

I don't know about "new technology" but the XSQL servlet is great for this sort of thing. It's simple to program, setup and can produce amazing results(I've never reached the limits). You can couple it to XSLT to produce plain HTML, CSV or Flat Files what ever you like. Steve Muench's book got me started "Building Oracle XML Applications"
Reading your post : it depends on whether you want static pages or dynamic. XSQL works well with a simple web.show_document call creating dynamic pages.

  • New MacBook Pro (first Mac). I need to move my itunes library from my pc to a networked external hd (wd passport for mac). I have an ipod with all my media (including video) and i have itunes match. What is the best way to do this? PC to Mac HD ...

Can I just consolidate and copy to the journaled hard drive over the network?  Will a pc recognize a Mac formatted hard drive?  I have searchd the forum and online for hours and can't seem to find anything that specifically address this.  Does anyone know the best solution?
Itunes library on PC -> WD Passport for Mac (connected via airport extreme to new MacBook Pro).  I plan to use this as the default location for my library because the new Pro only has 256 GB onboard.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • I need to reinstall Snow Leopard on a MacBook 1.1 after replacing the hard drive.  The DVD drive is not working.  What is the best way to do this?

My hard drive died.  I installed a new one and want to restore from my Time Machine back up, but my DVD drive will not read my Snow Leopard upgrade disc.  It did read the grey Tiger install discs that came with the coumputer, so I now am back to 10.4.11, but how do I restore from my Time Machine backup from this point?  The system does recognize the Time Machine Drive, but "restore from backup" simply copies the entire contents to new hard drive.   have access to an external USB DVD drive, but I cannot boot my Snow Leopard upgrade DVD from it.

This article contains instructions for reinstalling OSX on older Macbook Airs.  It should also apply to your situation.  Give it a try.
