I am trying to install os x yosemite and it has frozen and nothing has happened for over a day now?

I have been trying to download os x yosemite on to my macbook air version 10.9.5 since yesterday and its currently frozen at 870 MB. An error keeps appearing and starts to re download but nothing happends

My iTuens keeps waiting for a sync with my iPhone 4 that I have paired and synced up with for months. I had this problem last week then I installed the iTunes update and it synced okay for a few days.

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the installer file isn't working. Have you tried deleting the installer and redownloading the installer? I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

USB2.0 PCI cards that use the NEC chipset seem to give the least amount of problems for Mac users.

Do you also connect the external USB drive to the AC power as well while you use it ?
Sometimes USB external drive problems are resolved simply by plugging them into the mains power and trying again.

Sounds like the CD drive died. Luckily they cost next to nothing to replace. Or get an external LaCie instead. I have a dual G4 1.25 and the CD drive was always so anemic I use a LaCie Porsche with it.

I booted with start up disk , ran disk repair and all is ok. Tried to re-install OS but when I get to designating drive its blank. When I go to startup disk there is a "?" mark. When I restart under startup disk search for a drive it still comes up with nothing. Before I got the grey spinning wheel I had a locked screen. Could not move curser or click on anything. Shouldn't still have a 'beachballing'... if the drive is being found and the system is trying to boot from it but is having problems, I would suggest looking over ds store's user tip - Step by step to fix your Mac.
It's likely either something corrupt in your system files or a failing hard drive. But follow ds's steps until you find the cause of the problem.

Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

Updates do not normally require any kind of password access. It is more likely your machine's security is asking for you to allow things to be updated.

There is no serial number for CC Cloud versions. They are authenticated via your Adobe ID.
Sign in to your Cloud account with your Adobe ID and download the software via the Cloud app.

For me it worked when I switched the virus protection off while doing the installation. After you run the installation you then switch the virus protection back on.
