I am trying to sync my iPad to my computer. When I do, using either WiFi or USB connection, I receive the following message: "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPad "XXX". Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?" I have deauthorized and reauthorized repeatedly, and even trashed the SC folder, but the symptom continues. I am using OS 10.9.3. iOS 7.1.1, and iTunes 11.2.2. Suggestions/solutions would be welcome!

Me too...this is stupid, stupid, stupid. Just purchased my 200 (ish) mac and now I am told that my new Mac Book pro is not "authorized".
Which if my 200 macs are authorized. Can someone please tell me???
I "deauthorized" my old MBP and still told I cannot use my iPhone with iTunes.
Interesting that my old $2500 MBP, my new $3000 MBP and my $500 iPhone all cannot work cuz of some pinhead's decision to use this assorization process.

my iphone 5 will not sync with my macbook pro. it says my computer is no longer authorized to download purchased items from the iphone. However, when I go to authorize my computer, it says it is already authorized. How do I fix this?
You can't change the Apple ID that the Authorize dialog comes up with by default. It's showing you that Apple ID for a reason: it means that the items you want to play were purchased using that Apple ID and therefore you need to authorize your computer with that Apple ID. Changing the Apple ID given completely defeats the entire purpose.
If you don't know the password to the given Apple ID, then you will no longer be able to play those items. -
But when I de-authorise and then re-authorise it says it's already authorised and then the same window pops up saying "It can't be synced because this computer is no longer authorised for purchased items that are on this iPad.
Battled all day.
Removed the SC folder,
Checked iTunes log in is correct.
Checked Itunes is the same country.
Restarted both devices.
Tried different usb ports
Any ideas?I found the solution to this problem
the apple service helped me actually
the best and the esiest way is to solve this problem :
create a new account (as an administator recomended)
Bonjour servises must be enabled ( go to control panel > administartive tools> sevices> Bounjour services (change the category to large icons if you dont see administartive tools )
install itunes
sign in
authorize
SYNC
it must sync normally
but if the meesage pops up that points on a particular items that could not be synced ( to ur itunes because you are not authorized for this items ) REMOVE THEM
creating a new user account shows the items wich dont let you sync your iPhone
after you REMOVE those **** items that were not authorised , you can go to your old user account and SYNC it as old kind time
was having this problem 2 weeks , and nothing helped except this was. not deleting the SC Info folder, now copying apple folder to some other mobile divce folder
REMEMBER the problem is in your iPhone , it is about the items that are in your iPhone

I am trying to backup my iPad and every time I do it says I need to authorize my computer...it is authorized...
I am having a similiar problem. I did not ever have the problem with Lion and my 4gen iPad.
I allowed the Mavericks update just about the same time that AppleCare put a new Motherboard in this computer, so I don't know if either of those has anything to do with this or not? (4 year old MBP 17 dual i7)
But now when I reboot my MBP, it tells me that this computer is not authorized to play, sync, etc.. with my iPod (or iPhone) and asks me for my password. With I enter it, I get a message that says "This computer is already authorized". I have 4 Apple ID's and it asks me to enter that information for every single one and then tells me that the computer is already authorized.
How can I enter this ONCE and make it stick?

I recently purchased an IPAD AIR and synced ir with my comuter. 14 days later I try and SYNC it and I get a message " The IPAD could not be synced because this computer is no longe authorized for purchased items that are on this IPAD. The apple id's are the same and only 2 devices authorized. Meessage states to go to STORE and Authorize Computer. When I do I get a Message it is already authorized
The problem appeared to be a Pending Request on the IPAD for the new ICLOUD option to share Keychain. I cleared that up and it appears that fixed the issue. Thanks for your help

Just bought an ipod touch and it wont sync with itunes. Tried resetting sync history but doesnt work, plus when i try to access itunes preferences it freezes for ages and creates loads of distnoted.exe files?????
Just realised when reading other peoples problems that it is not actually letting me reset sync history???

Hello! I am trying to sync my iPhone 4 to my iTunes. My phone is connected to my computer, (was able to import pics) but I cannot manage my apps or music in iTunes. I ran diagnostics and it says 'no iPhone found'. It then takes me to Apple Support that says:
The device cannot be restored in iTunes.
An exclamation point, question mark, plug symbol, or "X" appears next to the device's entry in Device Manager.
During an update or restore, the device may no longer be recognized by iTunes

With the symptoms you described, try the step in the article below. See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode and If you see two "Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)" entries with exclamation marks on them. Then select the appropriate operating system that you are using.

If anyone in your household has an Apple ID, try authorizing the computer with their Apple ID and attempt to sync. I have been able to sync this iPad in the past (last time was in Nov/early December). I have not changed my iTunes account. I had recently updated iTunes to 12.0, but was able to sync iPad at that time. I am operating on OSX system. I have read through numerous support pages and feel like I have exhausted just about all of the suggestions. I have restarted computer and iPad numerous times throughout all of this. I have authorized/deauthorized/authorized (it says that it is authorized). I am baffled. The only change that I had made since last time I synced was: I had to change password because I forgot what it was. Credit information had to be updated. I created a different Apple ID for a different Apple product (iPhone). I am completely baffled and frustrated because I paid for this app that I need for work and I can't access it! Any ideas?

I know the article below talks about playing content in iTunes on your Mac and you are getting repeated alerts for playing purchased content, but try out the section for resetting the SC Info folder and then authorize your MacBook pro again and sync. Let me know if this helps.

Quit iTunes, restart your computer, reset the iPad and try again.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

Connect your phone to iTunes, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left sidebar and select Reset Warnings. Then sync again and you should get a warning listing the problem files.
