I am unable to get my BT Home Hub3 to turn-on the ...

I am aware that this is a user to user forum.
I after many calls from BT sales team succumbed to their request to move my phone calls & broadband with BT.
I have been with Pipex using their speedtouch router [provided by the Pipex]. It is connected through Ethernet to my desktop computer that has Win Ultimate x64 OS for the last 4 years without any problem.
I passed on the MAC Code to BT 2weeks ago for this trouble free transition in anticipation. BT issued me with an order number for the transition and a letter arrived few days later from BT informing my activation date for the Broadband - BT Total Broadband Option 1 as on the 22 Mar 2011.
My BT Home Hub3 arrived yesterday - 22 Mar 2011.
I attempted to connect my Home Hub3 last night and again this morning with no avail.
On each attemt to connect the "power" "wireless" light turn blue but the "broadband light flash orange and then purple and orange for few minutes and finally red.
I tried to troubleshoot through the Hub Manager but the "broadband"light firmly remain red. [This indicates Broadband is active but not through BT I presume]
When I disconnect the BT Home Hub and connect Pipex issued speedtouch router the broadband becomes accessible and I am able to post this message to this form for help.
I phoned BT to India after 25 minutes listening music, the polite lady has cut my line off without any resolution.
Can any-one help me?

Now that it appears that you've now got to wait till the 30th, you could ask the forum mods to double check this for you. Whether they can wave their magic wand or use some fairy dust to speed it up is doubtful, but ya never know....

Problem: I am not able to get HD Wide Screen 16:9 to fill the screen on TV. Leaves dark bands on the top and bottom of picture.
What I'm working with: Mac Pro Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processors with 2GB Memory soon to be 6GB & 30 inch screen. QuickTime Pro 7.5.5, Final Cut Express 4.0.1, and iDVD, 7.0.2.
New JVC, GZ-HD3U camcorder with QuickTime conversion software, recently updated, provided by JVC with the camera to change native TOD. files created in the camcorder to native MPEG2 files in Quicktime at a size of 1920 x 1080.
Two TV's, one Wide Screen HD and the other standard screen. I have changed the TV aspect rations back and forth from 4:3 to 16:9 and the only thing that changes is the size of the black bands on the top and bottom of the screen. The black spaces are larger in 16:9, making the picture appear squeezed.
I am using RW DVD discs so I can continue to try different setups without wasting discs and so far I have tried about 12 different arrangements. Two methods work but they are export conversions to a 4:3 aspect ratio and 720X480DV/DVCPRO-NTSC. Certainly this is a work around, but doing this looses the Wide Screen HD effects provided by the original JVC movies.
When I import the clips, and I've tried a number of different imports from QuickTime to Final Cut Express, I make sure that the Sequence set up matches or comes as close as possible to the imported clips. I've tried exporting them from FCE without changes and I have exported them using QuickTime to change them to different formats using nearly everything available trying to get the clips or sequences ready to import to iDVD.
In iDVD I have set up using both aspect ratios and it appears as thought setting up in 16:9 makes the spaces above and below even larger on TV. In fact it creates these spaces above and below even on the 720X480DV/DVCPRO-NTSC clips that work just fine on the 4:3 aspect ratio settings on the same TV.
If anyone has overcome this problem, I would greatly appreciate your guidance. So far, I've spent over a 100 hours on it to no avail.

Tom, I don't know where to go in FCE to create a AVCHD AIC Sequence. I can find the
1920X1080i60 in the Sequence format without any problem. And in QT don't know where to select AIC but I select Apple Intermediate Codec, and under compressor I select HDV 1080i interlaced frame rate 29.97. Under Export Size Settings I don't know rather to select 1920 x 1080 HD or HD 1920 x 1080 16:9 and what about preserve aspect ratio using and Deinterlace Source Video?
Part two: When I create a Sequence in FCE with the 1920X1080i60 designation, and then import a QT HD 1920X1080 16:9 Intermediate Codec clip into a bin and then open the clip in that sequence I'm asked if I want to match the clip to the sequence and if I don't I have rendering. If I match them the rendering, as you said, goes away. However, I notice that when I check out the Item Properties on them after the above process, the Aspect ratio in the clip and Sequence, suddenly becomes HD 1440x1080. Is this normal?

This is a known bug, and has been for years. It occurs when Firefox is your default browser and some glitch (or program) changes that default. Thankfully, there's a fairly easy fix, though it does involve monkeying around in the Registry.
(Note: These instructions apply to Windows Vista and 7 only.)
1. Click Start, type regedit, and then press Enter.
2. Navigate to the following entry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL\shell\open\ddeexec
3. In the center pane, double-click the Default entry, then remove whatever value is there (it'll probably be a weird string of numbers and commas).
4. Click OK, then exit Regedit.
5. If Outlook and/or Firefox are open, close them, then restart them.

I am unable to retrieve my voicemail messages with my new iphone 4S. I went to Sprint and they told me I had bad software but apple was working on it and I should just keep checking for updates. Is this not correct and should I ask for a new phone.

I have lost my iphone5 recently. Luckily, the location services were on and I could trace the phone twice, but was still unable to get it back. I was wondering, can the thief restore all the settings of the phone with or without the charger?

Once the find my iphone location service is disabled, it is of no use.
Apparently, I believe apple should make sure that once somebody puts his phone in the "Lost mode", all location services should be turned on by default.
The person should not be allowed to turn it off, and neither delete the "Find my iphone" app. In that way, the service may prove beneficial.

So, the only glimpse of hope for me is through IMEI tracking?

If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this.

It's probably a notification, for example when a new email arrives. Check the preferences for the apps you have open at the time.

The music was on your computer, and is now gone? If that is the case you have a serious hard disk failure on your computer. Search the computer for the music, and if you find it drag and drop it onto iTunes on the computer. If it isn't there restore it from the backup that you keep of your computer.

Need help with error on Lion Server (kernel: add_fsevent: unable to get path for vp ..)

I have had some Xsan issues and one of my volumes kept failing. I did a complete hard reboot of the entire system after trying all the cvfsck options. Now the volume seems to be ok but I am now getting the following errors and can not figure out what they are. Any help to a new Admin would be greatly appreciated.

Turns out there were disk issues that I repaired by rebooting into Lion Recovery Mode (restart, hold Command-R during startup) and running Disk Utility. Disk Utility reported:
Volume bitmap needs minor repair for orphaned blocks
Invalid volume free block count
It fixed both problems and the drive then verified clean.
While I was there, I also repaired permissions, though I doubt that the permission oddities were the cause of the errors.
After rebooting into normal Lion, two things happend:
Time Machine quite happily went back to work and took a backup, no issue. Several hourlies have run since then, no problems.
Spotlight did some re-indexing. This caused some hangs (spinning beachballs) at first, but it self-cleared. It definitely didn't last long enough to re-index the entire drive; I'm guessing that it needed to re-index some of the repaired sections.
So far as I know, no files were corrupted -- but the drive is about 80% free space, so odds are that the orphaned blocks were not in a critical area.

Unable to get area list, access projects

I'm running RoboHelp Server 9 and I have two issues that could be related.
First, when I attempt to publish WebHelp Pro from RoboHelp, I am unable to select a Help Area in the SSL dialog. I receive a message stating, "Unable to get area list from server." I opened the RoboHelp Server Web Administrator and verified that the areas are listed.
Second, when I go into the server and open the RoboHelp Server Web Administrator and select Projects, I receive a message stating, "Communication error. Server is refreshing project data. Try reloading projects pane in a little while."
I am at a complete loss. Here are things that I or my IT department have tried to do to fix this issue. None of these have worked:
Change the "reindex" property in the robohelp_server.properties file
Increase the PermSpace available to Tomcat:
Run the tomcat-install-dir>/bin/tomcat6w.exe file to open the Apache Tomcat Properties dialog box.
Verify that the Maximum Memory Pool setting is not blank. If it is blank, then specify a value, such as 512 MB. Make sure that the Maximum Memory Pool and XX:MaxPermSize values don't add up to more than the actual memory you can make available to Tomcat.
Restart Tomcat.
Wait 5 – 10 minutes after you publish your project to make sure that the data structure is loaded.
Rebooted the server
Removed recent updates from Adobe and Windows.
Tried using Firefox browser
I appreciate any help that can be offered.
Also note that this was not a problem before. I was able to successfully publish to the server, then suddenly I could not.

The step that puzzles me is "Removed recent updates from Adobe and Windows". Could you expan on what the Adobe updates were? The reason I ask is that in my experience the application set-up (e.g. Tomcat + RHS) does not react well to removing things. You may have been OK just removing updates but as you have to install the applications in a precise order, removing updates could have messed with the communication between them.
You certainly seem to have gone through the steps we normally advise in this situation. You could try connecting to the database you are using. If you respond it would be useful to have further information about the physical server and database configuration you are using.

Unable to get SLDCHECK

Tecra A10 - Refurbished - unable to get it connected to my home network

I just got this Tecra A10-104 refurbished Laptop...before I take it back I am asking here just in case theres something I have missed as I am unable to get it connected to my home network.
I am running a Belkin Wireless Router that has 2 main PC's directly connected (LAN), and another PC wirelessly connected.

All PC's working fine and connected.
Now I'm trying to setup this laptop to connect.
I uninstalled the Vista Business and ussed the XP Pro Product Recovery disc that came with the Tecra.
My WiFi card is: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 5100 (Driver Date: 27/04/2008 - Driver Version: 12.0.0.73)
It sees the network but no matter what i try just won't connect.
What I have done so far (read before suggesting stuff I have already tried):
Reconfigured routers WPS to Shared Key system.
Made sure the wireless adapter has settings set to 20/40hz (auto)
Restarted router, cable modem & laptop several times
Wireless button on side of Laptop is ON.
FN + F8 to enable WIFI (ON) BLUETOOTH (OFF)
Added wireless network to Auto Connect settings along with SSID and passcode end encryption method.
Clicked connect when network appears in network viewer dialogue and retyped passcode.
Not working.
I should add the Laptop has no problems connecting via its Gigabit LAN port.
Anything else I'm missing?

UPDATE:
The next thing I tried was to reinstall Vista Business from recovery disc to see if this suffered from the same problem.
The wireless connection worked fine on Vista and, despite the updates that I was being offered, worked without needing to update any drivers.
This made me think...so the issue is probably XP DRIVER related.
What I have done now is backup all the driver updates I was told to download by TEMPRO (BIOS & wireless manager updates included).
I think part of the problem is that TEMPRO only works in Vista (not XP) so you are not informed of any updates that may be required if you downgrade to XP straight after purchase (which is what I did).
