I am unable to play youtube videos on WiFi or on my my cell network. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, first of all Thank you for your instant response.
Yes, I have updated to version 33, Now the problem is not as random as it was before. I found that I have absolutely no issues when I use FF for the first time after starting my computer. At this point there is no issue at all I can watch videos when both logged-in/logged-out and also they work perectly if I switch between flash and HTML5.
But as soon as I restart Firefox I cannot watch the videos at all. No matter if I am logged in/logged out, I did try HTML5 but still it didn't work. The error message was same in all the cases "An error occurred, please try again later".
We are secured by "Cyberoam" so I don't have access to proxy sites.
By the way these observations are for Windows 7.

  • Unable to play youtube videos after OS 10.2.1.2977 update

Hi, I got an OS update two days back "10.2.1.2977". after updating, all the data in my memory card got wiped off and I am unable to play youtube videos both in browser and Supertube/fasttube apps, it's showing as "Error1: Internal" I tried rebooting but the problem is still there. Does anyone faced the same problem. Please suggest me a way to get rid of this problem. Appreciate your help

Alternatively, you can use an autoloader to reload the software.
You can download it here for the same os:
    http://filefactory.com/file/7il26x7cisqd/10.2.1_B3247_Z10-3G.rar
Note that using this will also wipe all data from the phone.
    How to use?
    1) download it and extract it
    2) connect the device to a pc
    3) run the Exe file, it will automatically wipe and load the os in

This is quite long but bear it out. Re: Antivirus on a Mac.
    1. This comment applies to malicious software ("malware") that's installed unwittingly by the victim of a network attack. It does not apply to software, such as keystroke loggers, that may be installed deliberately by an intruder who has hands-on access to the victim's computer. That threat is in a different category, and there's no easy way to defend against it. If you have reason to suspect that you're the target of such an attack, you need expert help.
If you find this comment too long or too technical, read only sections 5, 6, and 10.
OS X now implements three layers of built-in protection specifically against malware, not counting runtime protections such as execute disable, sandboxing, system library randomization, and address space layout randomization that may also guard against other kinds of exploits.
    2. All versions of OS X since 10.6.7 have been able to detect known Mac malware in downloaded files, and to block insecure web plugins. This feature is transparent to the user, but internally Apple calls it "XProtect." The malware recognition database is automatically checked for updates once a day; however, you shouldn't rely on it, because the attackers are always at least a day ahead of the defenders.
The following caveats apply to XProtect:
It can be bypassed by some third-party networking software, such as BitTorrent clients and Java applets.
It only applies to software downloaded from the network. Software installed from a CD or other media is not checked.
    3. Starting with OS X 10.7.5, there has been a second layer of built-in malware protection, designated "Gatekeeper" by Apple. By default, applications and Installer packages downloaded from the network will only run if they're digitally signed by a developer with a certificate issued by Apple. Software certified in this way hasn't necessarily been tested by Apple, but you can be reasonably sure that it hasn't been modified by anyone other than the developer. His identity is known to Apple, so he could be held legally responsible if he distributed malware. That may not mean much if the developer lives in a country with a weak legal system (see below.)
Gatekeeper doesn't depend on a database of known malware. It has, however, the same limitations as XProtect, and in addition the following:
It can easily be disabled or overridden by the user.
A malware attacker could get control of a code-signing certificate under false pretenses, or could simply ignore the consequences of distributing codesigned malware.
An App Store developer could find a way to bypass Apple's oversight, or the oversight could fail due to human error.
For the reasons given above, App Store products, and other applications recognized by Gatekeeper as signed, are safer than others, but they can't be considered absolutely safe. "Sandboxed" applications may prompt for access to private data, such as your contacts, or for access to the network. Think before granting that access. OS X security is based on user input. Never click through any request for authorization without thinking.
    4. Starting with OS X 10.8.3, a third layer of protection has been added: a "Malware Removal Tool" (MRT). MRT runs automatically in the background when you update the OS. It checks for, and removes, malware that may have evaded the other protections via a Java exploit (see below.) MRT also runs when you install or update the Apple-supplied Java runtime (but not the Oracle runtime.) Like XProtect, MRT is presumably effective against known attacks, but maybe not against unknown attacks. It notifies you if it finds malware, but otherwise there's no user interface to MRT.
    5. XProtect, Gatekeeper, and MRT reduce the risk of malware attack, but they're not absolute protection. The first and best line of defense is always your own intelligence. With the possible exception of Java exploits, all known malware circulating on the Internet that affects a fully-updated installation of OS X 10.6 or later takes the form of so-called "trojan horses," which can only have an effect if the victim is duped into running them. The threat therefore amounts to a battle of wits between you and the malware attacker. If you're smarter than he thinks you are, you'll win.
That means, in practice, that you never use software that comes from an untrustworthy source, or that does something inherently untrustworthy. How do you know what is trustworthy?
Any website that prompts you to install a “codec,” “plug-in,” "player," "extractor," or “certificate” that comes from that same site, or an unknown one, is untrustworthy.
A web operator who tells you that you have a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with your computer, or that you have won a prize in a contest you never entered, is trying to commit a crime with you as the victim. (Some reputable websites did legitimately warn visitors who were infected with the "DNSChanger" malware. That exception to this rule no longer applies.)
Pirated copies or "cracks" of commercial software, no matter where they come from, are unsafe.
Software of any kind downloaded from a BitTorrent or from a Usenet binary newsgroup is unsafe.
Software that purports to help you do something that's illegal or that infringes copyright, such as saving streamed audio or video for reuse without permission, is unsafe. All YouTube "downloaders" are in this category, though not all are necessarily harmful.
Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. If it comes from any other source, it's unsafe.
Even signed applications, no matter what the source, should not be trusted if they do something unexpected, such as asking for permission to access your contacts, your location, or the Internet for no obvious reason.
    6. Java on the Web (not to be confused with JavaScript, to which it's not related, despite the similarity of the names) is a weak point in the security of any system. Java is, among other things, a platform for running complex applications in a web page, on the client. That was always a bad idea, and Java's developers have proven themselves incapable of implementing it without also creating a portal for malware to enter. Past Java exploits are the closest thing there has ever been to a Windows-style virus affecting OS X. Merely loading a page with malicious Java content could be harmful.
Fortunately, client-side Java on the Web is obsolete and mostly extinct. Only a few outmoded sites still use it. Try to hasten the process of extinction by avoiding those sites, if you have a choice. Forget about playing games or other non-essential uses of Java.
Java is not included in OS X 10.7 and later. Discrete Java installers are distributed by Apple and by Oracle (the developer of Java.) Don't use either one unless you need it. Most people don't. If Java is installed, disable it — not JavaScript — in your browsers.
Regardless of version, experience has shown that Java on the Web can't be trusted. If you must use a Java applet for a task on a specific site, enable Java only for that site in Safari. Never enable Java for a public website that carries third-party advertising. Use it only on well-known, login-protected, secure websites without ads. In Safari 6 or later, you'll see a lock icon in the address bar with the abbreviation "https" when visiting a secure site.
Follow the above guidelines, and you’ll be as safe from malware as you can practically be. The rest of this comment concerns what you should not do to protect yourself from malware.
    7. Never install any commercial "anti-virus" or "Internet security" products for the Mac, as they all do more harm than good, if they do any good at all. Any database of known threats is always going to be out of date. Most of the danger is from unknown threats. If you need to be able to detect Windows malware in your files, use one of the free anti-virus products in the Mac App Store — nothing else.
Why shouldn't you use commercial "anti-virus" products?
Their design is predicated on the nonexistent threat that malware may be injected at any time, anywhere in the file system. Malware is downloaded from the network; it doesn't materialize from nowhere.
In order to meet that nonexistent threat, the software modifies or duplicates low-level functions of the operating system, which is a waste of resources and a common cause of instability, bugs, and poor performance.
By modifying the operating system, the software itself may create weaknesses that could be exploited by malware attackers.
    8. An anti-malware product from the App Store, such as "ClamXav," doesn't have these drawbacks. That doesn't mean it's entirely safe. It may report email messages that have "phishing" links in the body, or Windows malware in attachments, as infected files, and offer to delete or move them. Doing so will corrupt the Mail database. The messages should be deleted from within the Mail application.
An anti-virus app is not needed, and should not be relied upon, for protection against OS X malware. It's useful only for detecting Windows malware. Windows malware can't harm you directly (unless, of course, you use Windows.) Just don't pass it on to anyone else.
A Windows malware attachment in email is usually easy to recognize. The file name will often be targeted at people who aren't very bright; for example:
    ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!!!!!H0TBABEZ4U!!!!!!!.AVI♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.exe
Anti-virus software may be able to tell you which particular virus or trojan it is, but do you care? In practice, there's seldom a reason to use the software unless a network administrator requires you to do it.
The ClamXav developer won't try to "upsell" you to a paid version of the product. Other developers may do that. Don't be upsold. For one thing, you should not pay to protect Windows users from the consequences of their choice of computing platform. For another, a paid upgrade from a free app will probably have the disadvantages mentioned in section 7.
    9. It seems to be a common belief that the built-in Application Firewall acts as a barrier to infection, or prevents malware from functioning. It does neither. It blocks inbound connections to certain network services you're running, such as file sharing. It's disabled by default and you should leave it that way if you're behind a router on a private home or office network. Activate it only when you're on an untrusted network, for instance a public Wi-Fi hotspot, where you don't want to provide services. Disable any services you don't use in the Sharing preference pane. All are disabled by default.
    10. As a Mac user you don't have to live in fear that your computer is going to be infected every time you install an application, read email, or visit a web page. But neither should you have the false idea that you will always be safe, no matter what you do. The greatest harm done by security software is precisely its selling point: it makes people feel safe. They may then feel safe enough to take risks from which the software doesn't protect them. Nothing can lessen the need for safe computing practices.

  • Unable to play youtube videos - using proxy (squid)

Youtube videos do not play in my configuration. Most youtube content appears, but attempting to play a video results in a popup message "This movie could not be played". Sorry for the length of the post, but I'm trying to get enough documentation down here to save some time for the next person who runs into this.
    My basic network configuration is:
    ipod->wireless-router->squid-proxy->pix->internet
*I am analyzing logfiles from the proxy and the pix, and I have network traces from the proxy.
There are 2 issues so far with proxy access from the youtube application on the fw v2.2 ipod touch. After hitting the first issue, I made a call to tech support who pointed me to an older apple discussion thread about a similar issue which indicated the problem could be fixed by "reconfiguring the proxy server", but no details were given in that discussion thread about exactly what needed to be 'reconfigured'. I believe have figured out what was going wrong, and I document it as issue 1 below in case anyone else runs into it.
Issue 1 (which I managed to get solved) is that the youtube application sends a 'Host:' header pointing to gdata.youtube.com, but the requested url is actually iphone-wu.apple.com. Squid rewrites the 'host' header to iphone-wu.apple.com, and the target server fails the request with a 404. A solution (for squid) is to use a redirector to rewrite these url's to actually go to gdata.youtube.com and to set the 'urlrewrite_hostheader off' value.
Unfortunately, resolving issue #1 was not sufficient to get youtube off the launch pad:
Issue 2 (which seems unsolveable at the moment) is that the youtube application is ignoring proxy settings for some of its content requests. In addition to the proxy requirement, I have egress firewalling and logging set up. I observe the youtube application asking for many url's via the proxy and then I observe the egress firewall deny an attempt at a direct access to port 80 on an external server BYPASSING the proxy settings. Without opening up the egress firewall rules (and thereby disable requirement for a proxy), this makes the youtube application inoperative.
If anyone has some insight on how I can get this working, I'd appreciate it. I will attempt another support call tomorrow with my logfiles in hand...

Thanks for posting! -- I'm glad the info is helpful to you. There is more that I have been deliberately keeping quiet about while trying to work through a support call that was logged 27-dec-08. Without going into a lot of detail, the support call is still open, and I'm still working on getting a resolution from apple engineering. I hope that by providing this information, my support call doesn't get terminated as having been "solved" - which it most definitely has not been. It is my belief that only a firmware update will fix this.
(And as an aside ... I've spoken with three or four support reps at apple, and all have been very nice and have tried to help out! I've been quite pleased with the front end to their support org. I just really want to hear that someone has LOOKED at the code and found the error and it will be fixed in a future update!)
A work-around for the youtube and itunes applet failures is to set your squid up as a transparent proxy. That way, the network accesses that these applets make that attempt to bypass the proxy are hidden and the applets "work".
I would most certainly appreciate any further corroboration of this misbehavior -- more than one site being able to demonstrate these applets bypassing the proxy would be quite helpful.
(Note also that the lastest firmware 2.2.1 also exhibits this issue)
    Thanks.

  • Firefox unable to play youtube videos: "An error occurred, please try again later."

Tried deleting cookies, clearing history, reinstalling flash, firefox safe mode, all add ons turned off, made a different firefox profile, restarted firefox to its default settings. Nothing works, start playing any youtube video and at the 1 second mark the error appears. It doesn't matter if the video is embedded.
Curiously, youtube does work in chrome.
    What do I do?

If your computer doesn't have any sound (no speakers hooked up, etc. then
plug in a set of headphones and see if it works. I know it sounds funny, but I've been dealing with this problem for months on a work computer that has no speakers. Plugging in a set of headphones fixed the problem.
Youtube now requires a sound device present to work correctly.

  • Unable to play YouTube videos

I am having problem playing YouTube contents. I can't get any sound on playback. I am using Window 7 and have updated my Flashplayer. Please help.

  • Unable to play youtube videos unless on youtube.

Recently my system seems to nolonger be able to play any youtube videos unless on youtube. any other site the video could be embedded in it just sits at 00.00 with out loading the file. I have tryed disableing all addons. and the videos still refuse to load or be played unless I got to youtube to do so.

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.
Could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

  • Nokia x2- 01 unable to play youtube videos

my nokia x2-01 does not play any videos from youtube even though it connects to the media player. I've been constantly trying to open it. A message saying try later pops up but it hasnt worked ever since i bought the phone

    Hi Johannadj13,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the Nokia discussion forums.
In regards to your issue, the first thing I would recommend is make sure you have the latest software version for your phone. You can check this on your localised Nokia website by selecting your phone model then going to support and then software. It should list the latest software version and details on how to update.
Give this a go and hopefully this should resolve your issue.
If it doesn't I recommend you do a soft reset. This can be done by typing *#7780# on your device. This will reset the settings on your phone but will not erase any of your data. If your device asks for a code the default is 12345. If this doesn't resolve your issue then you can try a hard reset. By typing *#7370# on your device this will reset your phone fully and will erase all data. Once again if your phone ask for the default code this is 12345.
If you do a hard reset please remember to back up your phone. You can do this by using Nokia Suite. I have attached a link to a guide on how to backup your phone below.
    http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-ovi-suite/howto?ccf_name=nokia-suite-3-2/guide...
There are also some application you may want to try from the Ovi store which also may help resolve this issue if you look at the below link:
    http://store.ovi.com/content/68870?clickSource=search&pos=2
    http://store.ovi.com/content/161242?clickSource=search&pos=3
Hopefully this should fix your issue.
Let me know if it helps.
    Kind Regards

  • I am unable to watch Youtube videos on Firefox ?

I don't know why I am unable to play Youtube videos on Firefox (this problem stated around mid Sept. 2014).
I explored many solutions but in vain. Firefox/flash (I am not sure) is behaving weirdly, I found some solutions on 'Mozilla Support' when I apply these, I am able to play YT videos but after some time (usually after a re-boot) I get the screen "An error occurred please try again Later" and this cycle repeats. I use a public Wifi/LAN of my university and everyone(using Firefox) has the same problem, and everyone noticed the problem at the same time.
    Some solutions I tried are:
    1. Deleting Cache, Cookies, History etc etc
    2. Uninstalling and Re-installing Firefox and flash.
    3. I do have the latest version of both flash and Firefox
    4. Using Firefox in safe-mode (Sometimes even in safe-mode I couldn't play YT videos)
    5. Disabling Hardware Acceleration (though I use a I5 machine with Windows 7 and Intel(R) 3000 Graphics card).
    6. Tweaking DNS settings (changed my DNS server address to 8.8.4.4 etc)
    7. Degrading to previous versions of Firefox (I used FF 28.0 in Linux worked fine for a while and then the problem repeats itself)
I am confused, I am not sure where the problem is, because I use Linux(Ubuntu 14.04) and Windows 7 and in both of them Firefox won't play YT videos but Chromium/Chrome does. As I said before videos would play for certain time and then they would stop playing giving me "An error occurred please try again Later......". Another observation is there were only 2 resolutions (1020p and 240p ) available and the result won;t change even if I change them.

  • How to play youtube videos in C2-01?

    Hi,
I recently buy nokia c2-01. In that i unable to play youtube videos. Please help me on that.

    Hi,
Here is the latest information i received from the C2-01 unit:
I expect the new SW to be available for C2-01 very soon.
Youtube videos cannot be played in Airtel India network (X2-
    00) and also for C2-01.
When trying to play videos from Youtube
(http://www.youtube.com) while using Airtel India network,
error message is displayed (e.g. "No response. Try again", or
"Unable to open file", or "Operation failed").
If this error is persistent, refer to solution described below.
If the error happens only temporarily, this is due to non-
optimal network coverage and cannot be fixed in the device.
    Solution:
Default access point (APN) "Airtel Live!" is not suitable for
    streaming videos from Youtube.
Perform the following steps in order to change the APN
    manually:
Go to main menu -> press "Menu" -> "Settings" ->
"Configuration" -> "Preferred access pt." -> choose "Mobile
Office" (instead of "Airtel Live!") -> press "Select".
In case there is no APN named "Mobile Office" to choose,
please contact your operator to get APN settings directly.
If you get APN information as plain text, values must be
entered manually by selecting "Personal config. sett." in
"Configuration" menu. After having entered the correct values,
the newly created APN must be activated as described above.
Note: using a different APN than preconfigured by your
operator may result in high costs if not covered by your data
plan. If in doubt, check your contract details with your
operator before manually activating new APN settings!

  • Asha 210 - Unable to play youtube

    Hi
I've just bought nokia 210. I'm unable to play youtube videos. It is streaming upto 60% then says "data transfer not possible check connection".
I'm using a wifi connection to access youtube. I'm able to access other apps such as whatsapp and fb through the wifi.
    Please help me..

Mhm. Works here in Germany with my Nokia 210 and Nokia Xpress 5.0. Do you use that YouTube icon or do you go via Nokia Xpress » (Entertainment ») YouTube? Or via Nokia Xpress » m.youtube.com? In which country are you located?
Anyway, I attached a small HTML file. Download it and rename the file-extension from ‘doc’ to ‘htm’. If you place that file onto your memory card (and open it via Apps » Gallery » Memory Card) you are able to launch the (native) platform browser. This avoids the proxy-based Nokia Xpress browser. Does that help?

  • Is it possible to play youtube video in safari browser on WiFi in iOS devices ?

    Hello Support,
I have a query regarding playing you tube videos in iOS devices (like iphone, ipad). I can able to play youtube videos in safari browser in iphone on 3G data connection but can not play the same video on WiFi. I am facing the same issue in the youtube iOS application also. Is it possible to play youtube video on WiFi in iOS devices ? Please help me to fix this issue.
    Thanks

My understanding is that you should definitely be able to play youtube videos using a Wi-Fi network. To me, it sounds as though the issue may be more network related as the videos will work over cellular data. I have a couple questions I believe could help narrow down the exact issue:
    • Is the device able to browse to other websites while connected to Wi-Fi, or will no sites work?
    • Are there other devices (iPads, iPhones, computers, etc) that work on the same Wi-Fi network?
These are some troubleshooting articles that come to mind as well:

Please can someone help, I am just trying to set up iCloud on my iPad.  When I click on accept terms and conditions it says unable to connect to server? I have googled how to do this, forums suggest to open a find friends app, then try to reconnect.  It still doesn't work.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Check this. Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is correct as well.

  • Play YouTube Video Using Movie URL

    InDesign CS3
    Hello,
Is it possible to insert a movie that uses a URL to a video on YouTube?  YouTube URL's do not contain the actual file name/type and I believe that is why I am unable to play the video - however I thought I would check and see if anyone has had success doing this.
My goal is to be able to play the YouTube video within the exported PDF.
