If the movies were rentals then no.
If the movies are purchases and you have the iTunes 10.4 then you should be able to access the 'cloud' option from in the main iTunes page - purchases - (upper right corner) and go from there.
You should also have the option to transfer purchases from the iPad back into iTunes. I don't have an iPad but you can transfer purchases from the iPod/iPhone back to iTunes.

No. You must connect your iPad to a computer (it does not have to be yours) in order to restore it to factory settings.
Once you're home, you can restore it from a backup.
Any content that you did not backup has been lost.

You can drag and drop a file from TM to the desktop.
Let's say your newsletter is on the desktop. First thing to do is to add something to the file name, say Newsletter_1.
Next open TM as if it is just another external drive by double clicking the icon. (This is not the same as "Enter Time Machine" which you do when you want to restore.) The file hierachy in TM follows the same logic as on your hard drive. Navigate to the date you want, find the file you want, and drag and drop it where you want it to be. Because you changed the name of the most recent version you can both files in the same space.
I do this often.
But remember if you make a back up now you will end up with both versions in TM.

I'm not sure if it was taken from my carry over or it dropped from the exterior pocket, that I found open. I do not have the serial number of the one that was given to me in Florida. I did try calling the store, but When requesting to talk to an specialist, no body answers the phone. what can I do to find the serial number?

If its working with word, excel, etc no you cannot. Some classes have you do work on the programs and submit a finished product. Sorry if thats the case.

Check to see if they are on your calendar on icloud.com. If they aren't, all you can do is try to restore to your last backup, although it isn't clear that calendar events are included in the iCloud backup.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

If you haven't already, restart the ipad by holding home and power for ten seconds until the apple appears.
There may be an app that is draining the battery.
Try the following:
1) Kill all apps by double-tapping the home button, then holding any app's icon until it displays the ' - ' symbol. Touch the ' - ' symbol on all apps. This stops the app.
2) Go to airplane mode to turn off wifi and 3G, if so equipped.
3) recheck the battery life by using an offline-only app, like a game, for an hour or so and see if the battery seems to last longer than before.
Typical battery life is a drain of 10% per hour. Your mileage may vary.
If the battery is lasting longer, you need to isolate what is causing the drain.
4) If still rapidly draining, try going to Settings, General, Reset, reset all settings.
5) If none of this gave you any change in the battery life, you may want to do a restore of the ipad from within itunes.

Everytime I try to send a message to a person that does not have an Apple product ( Iphone or Ipad ) it comes up saying contact is not registered for iMessage and wont send it. I can only send them a message from my iPhone 4 instead. Do I have to install a new App from the App store to send these non iMessage cell users a message?

Is there any way to locate a stolen ipad if I have the Serial number but didn't turn on the Find My Ipad?

My Ipad (and backpack, laptop, & other stuff) was stolen at the Portland Oregon Airport at 1:30 PM on 2/27/12.
unfortunately I had not turned on the Find My Ipad function. I do have the serial number and the IMEI number (although I never enabled the 3g function).
Is there any way to locate or track this?
Earlier discussions suggest this can't be done, but I have registred the laptop with Apple.

Apple are not in the business of tracing your stolen iPad, any more than the manufacturer of your car will trace that if stolen.
Tell your service provider (now, before the thief spends a few thousand on international calls....), the police and your insurer.
