If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.

I need to transfer music from another itunes library. My last compter hard drive failed. I have several hours of songs and I don't want to lose these. Is there a way to transfer music from another libray to current? I have recovered the purchased music but would like to transfer other. I have a mini without a disc drive so it makes loading the same music difficult. Please help.

My mac gets slow when I play music from my iTunes library
Hi, aproximately six months ago I noticed that everytime I play music from my iTunes library that its stored in my 27" iMac's hard drive, the computer gets slow, the images start to flicker, the animatios on the dock and the one when u minimize or maximaze the windows, also flicker. As soon as I close iTunes the computer works fine again. When I play music from a CD this doesn't happen.
I've taken the iMac to two service providers along theese 6 months and neighther have been able to fix the issue. What they have diagnozed is an issue with the hard drive which has been changed 4 times already.
What could be the issue?Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

When I click on the Music tab on my Apple TV 2, a message tells me I have to set up iTunes Match to stream music from my iTunes library on my iMac. I don't want to set up and pay for iTunes Match. You need to look for your itunes library under Computers and select it, then music.
Music column is for web based content not local content, just to confuse everyone.

I bought a new iPod Touch and cannot sync the music from my itunes library. There are a lot of error messages that come up as I am attempting to sync the music. I have talked by phone to Apple people, returned the iPod and got a new one, re-installed itunes on my computer and have reformatted the iPod.
