I can no longer download and save files. They are now saved with a ".part" suffix that I can not use or open. What happened, I used to do this all the time?

Downloads seem to be happening normally at first but the file shows up with a file extension of ".part" that I can not use or open. If I refresh the folder where it was downloaded to, it disappears as though it wasn't there at all.
I used to do this and it just yesterday started to give me problems. It doesn't seem to matter what file type I do this with as PDF, MP3 and EXE files have all shown this problem.
Please help!

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.<br />
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

I just did a google search on this issue. OMG, I got a ton of videos on this or similar issues. Each one says in some way to clear the cache, reset the data, etc. Why in the world would this continue to happen and they not do a fix that resloves this without having to lose or stop what your doing. This is a very long and constant issue it seems with Android phones as there must have been pages and pages of what I now call "Unfortunately" So I am going to pray that Verizon helps me out and gets me away from this issue and helps me go back to iPhone or try the Samsung.

iTunes states " There's a problem with your Iphone, please contact apple service center " Also i took my iphone to a local service man and he told me the IMEI code has been corrupted and there's nothing that can be done about it. Please help, if you have any solution.

Go to www.ecamm.com and d/l PhoneView.
To prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - hold down the 'option' and the 'command' keys when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - key the keys down until the iPod/iPhone is listed under the Devices list in iTunes - this will prevent a sync from taking place.
With PhoneView you can take the content from the device to the iTunes library.

Well, you could install the drivers to the wireless printer in you other computers.

How can I download and save an EXE file or Office files i.e. DOC, XLS or PPT files to iPhone 5 and then transfer them to Computer/Laptop?

Any apps that download and save files to itouch?

Are there any apps that have the ability to DL and save files such as .PDF's directly to my itouch over the wifi for use offline, and without any syncing with my pc? It seems that any apps that i see require syncing with my pc either directly or remotely.
All I'd like to do is save a file while I'm surfing and open it offline. Free apps would be preferred.

Yes, feel free to uninstall and reinstall as many times as you feel necessary. However, this doesn't often fix problem (unless the install process didn't work in the first place or that files have become damaged or are missing since the install process).

I can no longer download a .zip file using Firefox 15.01 on the 2010 Mac (Snow leapard 10.6.8) using the method to have it SAVE in a folder of my choice.

Also..even though I tell file to SAVE to a folder of my choice..it will put a gibberish file in the Default DOWNLOAD folder with the suffix name ".part" at the end of it. I have uninstalled Firefox, loaded it fresh, zapped the prams, cleared the cookies. I really need this function back. Please help.
Works fine going DIRECT to DEFAULT DOWNLOAD folder then drag to folder of my choice but this is a BIG TIME WASTER ESPECIALLY as I have been doing this other way for several years now.

Do you get a working file if you remove the .part and if necessary replace it with the correct file extension or is that file still corrupted?
Firefox should still rename the file to the name that you specified after the download has finished.

How do I get to download and save files again?

When I try to download or save a file, a file with any format, nothing happens. Only way of getting the file saved is to open it in its designated programme and save it from there. Certain file types can not be saved since they have no programme to open in (like .ies file, for example).
Changing the file behaviours will not help, it still behaves the same way, i.e. it won´t let me save straight from the browser.
