I can't find the package, "com.sun.faces.config.beans"
Hi. To research the implementation mechnism of JSF, I downloaded JSF reference implementation source JAR from javaserverfaces.dev.java.net.
But when I unziped the JAR and import these files into eclipse to compile this project, a serials of compile errors occurred. Making a comparation between binary JAR and source JAR, I found that some files contained in binary JAR weren't in the source JAR. For example, com.sun.faces.config.beans package exists in the jsf-impl.jar, but not in jsf-impl's source JAR. I ensure that the binary files and source files have the same version.
Any advice is welcome. THX.

There are three source projects for JSF. The jsf-api, jsf-impl, and jsf-tools. The jsf-tools one contains the package you're looking for.
I never understood why the JSF developers organized their projects this way. Basically, it looks like the jsf-tools project gets compiled into the jsf-impl jar. Thus it's not 1 project to 1 JAR. And confuses people like us!

How can I find the package com.sun.enterprise.naming?
Where does the following package come from? From which jar file?
com.sun.enterprise.naming
I am worling on j2sdk 1.4.2.10 and SUN Application Server 8.1.02.You should not use the classes in the package com.sun.xml... directly. Use the XML API (included in the Java SDK since version 1.4); look at the javax.xml package.

Error com/sun/faces/config/ConfigureListener when creating/opening project
Hi
I have installed creator and everything was working fine. I was able to develop some projects and deployed fine. I have closed my creator and reopened it again. From then it startted giving this problem.
I am unable to create a new project. When I click on Create New Project button on welcome page, it asks me the project name and the directory. Once I enter the name for the project and click on OK there, nothing comes up and the welcome screen remains there. Now there is a red cross mark at the bottm left that shows com/sun/faces/config/ConfigureListener. It behaves the same even if I try to open an existing project.
I believe this problem started after I upgraded my patch to 112785-43. But even after I removed this patch nothing happens. Reinstalled few times but still it shows same com/sun/faces/config/ConfigureListener at bottom left corner.
Any ideas ?
Thanks
SRGot it finally .. The user settings directory is created as[b] //.Creator/1_0 instead of /.Creator/1_0. I know that I need to remove the folder .Creator/1_0 but could not find in the root directory. Went in to // and found the .Creator folder there. Deleted the folder and reinstalled it..

Re: com.sun.faces.config.ConfigListener not found
I am using Tomcat 4.1.24 and got the demos from EA4 working. Now I am getting an error in my own JSF WAR file about com.sun.faces.config.ConfigListener class cannot be found.
What jar file would I be missing?
Thank you.Hi All,
I am facing the same problem on TOmcat 4.0. I copied the jsf-ri.jar from war file/lib to tomcat_home/common/lib and the problem was resolved. Can anyone from Sun address this issue please as to why this is so?
Also, now the container is not able to access the Faces Servlet. I should mention here that this does not work only when deployed as a war file.

Component and renderer can't share the same name in face-config.xml
Hi All,
I've noticed that a component and a renderer can't share the same name in <face-config.xml>.
For instance,
<component>
<component-type>tree</component-type>
<component-class>com.xxx.tree.component.Tree</component-class>
</component>
<render-kit>
<renderer>
<renderer-type>tree</renderer-type>
<renderer-class>com.xxx.tree.renderer.Tree</renderer-class>
</renderer>
</render-kit>
generates a cryptic error message.
It's not a big deal but would be nice to support it.
The workaround of course is to use a different name for the component and renderer (tree and treeRenderer for instance)
Stephanei dont know why it doesn't work for you. It works for me alright. Can u elaborate on what error messages you are getting? It maybe some other problem.

BUG in com.sun.faces.config.ManagedBeanFactory
While browsing the JSF 1.0 source code, IntelliJ found a "silly assignment" in com.sun.faces.config.ManagedBeanFactory:
public void setManagedBeanBean(ManagedBeanBean newBean) {
synchronized (this) {
//ManagedBeanBean clone method implemented to return deep copy
this.managedBean = managedBean; // (ManagedBeanBean) newBean.clone();
//set the scope
scope = managedBean.getManagedBeanScope();
}The problem is that the line
this.managedBean = managedBean;is assigning a value to itself, whereas of course it should be:
this.managedBean = newBean;Geoff RimmerThis has been fixed and will be availabe in the next release.

Where can I find the folder: com.apple.mail.drag
Which is the folder that files are saved into when I accidentally press "Save" button instead of "Save All".
1. It tells me that it is in a folder called Privet, but I'm unable to find it via finder.
2. is there a way to change this default folder?
3. I accidentally opened a file in Photoshop and Saved it to this folder. how can I delete this file?
thanks
good day,
shlomitI believe your screenshot is only showing a temporary repository of the file, which may not be permanent. Where it would/should go when clicking the Save button should be the Mail Downloads folder, unless you in Mail Preferences/General have specified another target in the box beside Downloads Folder.
The Mail Downloads folder would be found by double-clicking on your hard drive icon, clicking on the Icon of a house (thus the common reference beginning with Home), and it will be there along with Documents, Library, Music, Movies, etc. If you check this folder named Mail Downloads you may be surprised by what you find stored there.

Package com.sun.media
Where do i find the API documentation of the package com.sun.media.
hi,
it is likely you won't find any api-documentation for this package since sun
usually discourages the use of some packages (compare sun.*)
and does not provide any documentation for that cause.
at least this is what i suspect; why do you want to use the anyway?
p.s. you can always have a look at the source code itself since it is open.
cheers
