I can't get Firefox to work (unable to connect) yet IE works fine. Here's the crash ID: ID: 73f9c4c7-86e9-4bfa-b05a-302772140109

I've tried resetting it to the defaults but that didn't help.

You can install the beta version alongside of the current release with its own profile. Then you can check out if this helps to avoid the crashes and can still go back the the release version at any time by clicking its desktop shortcut.
You can install multiple Firefox versions via a custom install in different installation folders and keep the current release version installed to be able to fallback to the release version in cases when the beta build isn't working properly.
Make sure not to start Firefox after the installation has finished and use the Profile Manager to create a new (separate) profile for each version.
Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile for this version, so make sure not to start Firefox after the installation has finished.

Create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch each Firefox version with its own profile.<br />
The "profile" parameter is the name as seen in the Profile Manager and not the folder name on the hard drive.

Hi Drbobdog, there shouldn't be a compatibility with Android OS 2.2.3. There may be a compatability with the device itself.
    Here are the system requirements:

(also seen here as well : http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/platforms/ )
    I hope this helps.

Facetime between iPad2 and MacBook Air worked fine here in the USA.  The iPad2 is now in Rome, Italy and we can't connect internationally.  We both can hear the caller ringing in and can see who is trying to call, but after accepting the call we cannot connect.  No voice, no video. iPad is successfully sending and receiving eMails, but no Factime connection   What's up?

I am curious if possibly the hotel has some sort of VOIP block on.  Have you tried Skype?  Did you talk to the hotel staff?  My husband is traveling to Milan in a couple of days and I wonder if he will run into the same issue.  He has had no problems from Istanbul but he is staying in a corporate apartment there.  If you find an answer please post back.  Thanks

  • Can't get Firefox to work properly behind corporate proxy

I am forced to use Firefox behind our corporate proxy and have to continually make exceptions just to get to sites, but even this doesn't always work. I don't know much about certificates, but I know certificates are issued by our organization for each user and device. I've tried exporting the personal certificate from IE and importing it into Firefox without success (couldn't export certificate completely and in correct format for Firefox) and am not sure if I'm even taking the right approach. IE is our only approved browser and I'm sure part of the reason is that proxy settings can be forced via group policy. I've tried adding a certificate exception to Firefox for our proxy, but Firefox is "Unable to obtain identification for this site". Is there any way to get Firefox to function correctly in this environment or somehow get Firefox to work through IE?

I think most proxies work the same way: they generate a fake certificate for the website and present that to your browser so they can decrypt and inspect the traffic between you and the site. It's a hassle having to make exceptions for the individual fake certificates -- it's more efficient to recognize the certificate the proxy uses to ''sign'' the fake certificates as a valid certificate authority.
The trick is identifying that certificate. It might be easiest to do from IE or Chrome, since both use the Windows certificate store (Firefox uses its own). By inspecting the certificate for a secure site and the certificate used to sign it, you may be able to identify and export that certificate (DER or .cer format).
In Firefox, you would import that into the Authorities section of the Certificates dialog:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Certificates mini-tab > "View Certificates" button > Authorities mini-tab > "Import..." button
Of course, it probably is safest to verify with your IT that you've found and exported the correct certificate before importing it into Firefox.

  • How can I get Firefox to work?

I am unable to get Firefox to work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and created a new profile to no avail. When I open Firefox and type in a website address or attempt to complete a search, nothing happens. When entering a website, it just disappears, Please help!

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Hi, I can't get Firefox to work with "ScreenPrint Platinum". It has worked for a year and longer. However, now it does not accept commands via "prtScn" key .

I'm currently using version 5.4.0.4 of ScreenPrint Platinum and it works fine with Safari and Goggle Chrome, but I prefer Firefox. Has a change been made with later versions of Firefox. I'm using version 18.0.2 and would appreciate your feedback. Thanks, Richard

Do you know whether ScreenPrint installs an add-on into Firefox? If so, it's possible that during an update it became disabled. You could check that theory here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category
Note that disabled extensions are "grayed out" and listed at the bottom after all the enabled extensions.
As far as I know, Firefox does not intercept the PrtScn key for its own purposes, but it's possible that another add-on is doing that. Or if you have interacted with a Flash player in the current page, the player may be intercepting it.
If you need a Firefox-specific workaround, you can try this extension: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/fireshot/ Fireshot].

  • Can't get firefox to work for more than a week. won't pull up any website - IE works great

I have been having problems with Firefox for some time now. I have a HP running a AMD Athlon II X4 (Windows 7). Only major software is PC Tools PC Doctor, Skype, and other MS Office software.
Firefox will simply stop loading webpages and just sit there. Internet Explorer will work fine. I have completely uninstalled, ugraded, and just about everything I can think of. This has been ongoing. It will work great for about 2 weeks, then stops. Any help would be appreciated, i don't want to use IE.
    thanks

  • I can not get firefox to work

I have tried on my pc and tablet to get fire fox to work but I cant and their is an assumption on your help that its all straight forward, and I desperately need a better search engine then google for both myself and my partners research for University degrees because to call Google shit would be demeaning to shit as it has great uses in the garden and produces good results while google just reproduces more of itself in between selling you guessed it more shit, im old and only reasonably 'geeky' but would desperately love to use your product as it is as good as you say and would make research a lot easier, cheers dave [ed removed email]

The most reliable way to get Firefox on an Android device is to use the Google Play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox

  • How can you get firefox to work locally with the windows subst command?

I want to test my website locally using the windows subst command to emulate the root of my website. It works perfectly with IE8 (except IE8 displays the layout different to firefox) but will not work with Firefox. All of the images, styles sheets and anything with a root path does not work. If I use a relative path (../../ for example) to the objects they works fine.
How can I view web pages locally using a website root path?

Now I understand why Firefox does not load local pages and and IE does. I followed the link and tried all the various solutions. The noscript version did not work (but at least I have better security now) and the \\\\\ UNC path trick did nothing. Eventually I downloaded the IEtab plugin and that worked perfectly. All I wanted to do was to check webpages locally before submitting to my website and the IEtab plugin worked perfectly.
    Thanks

  • I just did an upgrade to the latest version (3.6.15) and after installation and restart of the computer I can"t get Firefox to work. Not sure if this a Firefox problem or something in Windows XP. Can any one help?

Received notice of a new version of Firefox and clicked to receive it. It downloaded and I did the install. After restarting the computer I could not get Firefox to open. Tried to reinstall again and had the same results.

What a waste of space to paste the code.
Why not ask in the iLife > iPhoto forum where your question belongs.

  • How can I get Firefox to run on a network with multiple users logging on with the same user name and password?

I am trying to get Firefox running on a large network where I have multiple users that log on with the same user name and password. The problem is that when another user logs on to another computer the message comes up that their is already an instance of firefox running on that computer even though there really isn't. Only one instance can be run on the network at one time. I believe it is because firefox stores a shared profile as it thinks it is actually the same user even though it is being run on another computer. I repeat that each user that logs on uses the same user name and password but on different computers.

  • Since upgrading to 3.6.13, i can no longer open tabs using the extension, only by right clicking on the open page, and then not always. I've had to go to Chrome as i can't get firefox to work.

Firefox worked great. I have been using it for years. When i completed the recent update to 3.6.13, the new tab button/extension little + box quit working. I can click and nothing happens. I right click, get the drop down menu but nothing works. I cannot open a blank tab or windwo as when i want to go somewhere new without closing windows i have open. The only way i can access a new tab is if i go to my bookmarks and open one then use that screen to go where i wanted to go. I've had to switch to Google Chrome to complete tasks i need done online, but it doesn't let me do a lot of what i want to.

I'll try to make this clear. I USED to be able to left click on a hyper link and the hyper link would open in a NEW tab. Now for some unknown reason the hyper link by default opens in the same tab (window). I have to right click the hyper link in order for it to open in a NEW tab. (Yes, my 'tools'> 'options'> 'tabs' are set to "open new windows in a new tab." (Please no answers telling me to get rid of the Ask toolbar because I don't have one.) Thank you.

  • After upgrade, firefox will not launch says : you cannot open the application "Firefox" because it is not supported on this architecutre how can i get firefox to work again?

unable to launch firefox after I upgraded firefox

I see you are using a PPC Mac with OSX 10.5.8.
Either you can use the last release from Mozilla worked on PPC which is 3.6.*.
The current 3.6.22 is at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    Or use a third-party build from http://tenfourfox.blogspot.com/2011/08/601-now-available.html
As of Firefox 4.0 and newer a '''Intel''' Mac and OSX 10.5+ is required.
