I can't open the "phone" icon on my 3GS.

I can't open the "phone" icon on my 3GS. I starts to open when I press it but then i goes back to the home screen. I can receive calls but now as a result I can't make calls. I've done a restore on the phone and still no luck. Help!

Since upgrading to 7.1 on my iphone 5C I try to open the phone icon to make a phone call and it tries to open then returns to the home screen. I also cannot get anything else to open. It will randomly reboot or just freeze.

I just got my iphone 5C on Wednesday, I was slow to move my apps over because well I loved my iphone3. Never had any problems!
I finally moved my apps over last night and was prompted to upgrade to 7.1. I upgraded, then received a voicemail, listened to part of the voicemail (the phone dropped the call) and went back to the main screen.
Then nothing worked. I try to open the phone icon and it tried to open but it returned to the main screen. I tried opening anything else and nothing will work. Not even the phone icon. It also would not shut down.
I let it sit for twenty minutes and tried to turn it off. Then ten minutes later it just rebooted itself. Waited until it came back up and tried to open settings, photo, camera, phone nothing will open.
I know the touch is still working because it is locked and it will allow me to unlock it every time. So I guess something is working.
Any suggestions?

Finally got my phone to power off. I was able to reset the phone and everything is now working. I guess I just needed patience!

Hold both power on and home button together and ignore the red slider until you see the apple logo. Then let go of both buttons and wait for the phone to reset itself.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

How can I get the iPhone icon to show on the iTunes screen. I want to check some music for loading into the phone, can't locate the phone icon.

I always have trouble moving music from my MacPro to my phone. The phone icon doesn't show on the iTunes screen where it's supposed to. I may be missing some setup step that makes the phone show there. Any clues?

Plug the cable into the iPhone and into a USB port directly on your computer, not a USB hub. Also make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.

Try a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

Variation on a theme, roybens: The only place the folder named Desktop 'is', is in your very own Home folder, which bears your shortname and is found under Users. If there's a folder called simply "Desktop" (spelling counts) in that place, AND if it contains each and every one of the items that are littered about your screen, then that IS your Desktop folder—it's just got a wee icon malfunction. Typical of Finder, not to worry.
Finder cannot work w/o a Desktop for every user, and creates a new folder when you trash the old. Sometimes, OK often, Finder's gets outta sync a bit, and it takes the new folder awhile to show up, or you may try to make one. Finder then adds numbers if it finds there's already an item named Desktop there.
More critically, what's still in that Desktop in the trash that you still want? Whatever it is get it out and into a safe place. Likewise, make sure using Get Info… that the items you see on the desktop are in Users/roybens/Desktop and not in Users/roybens/Trash/Desktop. Move'em or copy them.
Perhaps you found no Desktop in your home folder? Then make one and call that the safe place. Or maybe you found a folder called "Desktop 21-34-76" or the like; strip off the numbers and do as above. You may have to open and close the Home window a coupla times to nudge Finder along. As long as you have the stuff, it's up to you whether you put everything back into the folder called Desktop now or later. While you're tidying,you can poof the Sidebar and Dock DTs if you hav'em.
Once you're confident that nothing's missing. Log out and back in or Restart, and do your maintenance. What you should see is that the new Desktop has been blessed w/ the Desktop icon, while the one in the Trash is generic. Create a couple of new empty folders called Desktop and chuck 'em in to the trash to see the numbering thing, if you're feeling giddy. Or just reset your Sidebar and Dock and get back to business.

I am trying to individually delete cookies, When I go to "tools" then "options" the window will open and I click on the "privacy" icon, the program will highlight the "privacy" icon, but the options for privacy will not appear. Hi, after updated my firefox, i can't open the download icon

Today firefox automatically updated the browser. Then i'm downloading something after done the download icon color should change to blue, but it's not. Still grey.
As i try to click it, it won't open the download menu.
Now i have to manually open my download folder, instead of opening at browser which is not efficient.

Okay, it solved after i closed and open the firefox.

I can't open the settings icon in order to dump cookies.

I click on it and double click on it but it doesn't open up. However I can shut the computer totally down and I can open settings one time but the next time I have shut the computer down again.

You obviously moved it to another screen. It is a native iOS icon and cannot be deleted. Check the other screens you have, as well as folders. You can also do a search and find it as well. If it is a folder, it will show up like the red circled one on this graphic.
If you cannot locate it, then go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset Home Screen Layout and that will bring it back.
