How can I get the iPhone icon to show on the iTunes screen. I want to check some music for loading into the phone, can't locate the phone icon.

I always have trouble moving music from my MacPro to my phone. The phone icon doesn't show on the iTunes screen where it's supposed to. I may be missing some setup step that makes the phone show there. Any clues?

Plug the cable into the iPhone and into a USB port directly on your computer, not a USB hub. Also make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.

The information and buttons are blank in iTunes??? I can sync all photos and music and all that but when I try and look at the iphone info and settings it is all blank and the buttons are blank too. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I've gone through the steps in the Express Lane and nothing has worked.
My freakin' phone support thing expired after 90 days (like always) so now the only way to talk to a support person is if I pay $29
I swear I remember it being so much easier to speak to the support team before now!
Does anybody have any suggestions for how to troubleshoot this further?

You will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to your computer (that will copy PDFs and epubs that are in the iBooks app, not just actual ibooks), and you can then sync them to your iPhone. Or you might be able to open each PDF in iBooks on your iPad and use the share icon to email them to yourself and then use 'open in' in the Mail app on your iPhone to copy them to its iBooks app (if the PDF is protected then you may not get the email option via the share icon).
The Settings > iBooks > Sync Collections setting doesn't copy items between devices, it just means that it a bookor PDF is on both devices and you move it into a collection on one device then it will be moved into the same collection on the other device

iPhone 4S and Windows XP the first thing that jumps to mind is that the iPhone 4S needs a USB 2.0 connection to sync with iTunes. Check your computers user guide to see if the PC has a compatable USB 2.0 input.

Keep in mind that with the iPhone, you can sync all iTunes content with only one computer. Trying to sync iTunes content with a second computer will result in iTunes erasing the content from the first computer. However, non-itunes content such as contacts, calendars, mail settings, notes, etc. (anything in the Info pane) can be synced from another computer.
