I can't turn my ipod off

I do the reset combo a million times, and it goes blank, with the light apple in the background, then it brightens back up and turns back on. How do I get it to turn off??
5th generation, with video Windows XP

My pod wouldn't turn off either. I thought it was the battery at first, because after charging, and thinking I had switched it off, I left it over night and the battery was flat in the morning. Looking at it closely, I noticed the screen was on, very dark, but definitely on. No matter what I did it would not go off, I ended up doing a 'restore' and all seems back to normal now.

Can't turn my iPod OFF!

For the last week or so my iPod won't turn off, which is a bit of a twist on the regular "I can't turn my iPod on" posts.
Until now it would turn itself off after about five minutes unused, or I could turn it off by holding down play/pause, but now it just stays on 24/7 whether it's playing or not.
This is a bit of a pain as I need to make sure it's plugged in overnight or the battery gets run down.
Any ideas?
Oh, and yes I have checked the "hold" switch isn't on.

I just tried the enter button and play button together - that turned it off, but as soon as I let go of the buttons it comes back on again!!
On the third or fourth attempt it turned off and stayed off so maybe I'll just have to think of it as an extra game - test your skill, can you turn the iPod off in less than three goes!

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

Videos freeze up, i cant turn my ipod off

i have a few movies on my ipod, real ones that are like 2 hours long. some times they play just fine but other times the freeze about every 30 seconds for about 2 seconds and when i starts playing again there is no sound. i found that if i rewind the movie back to a place where it was before it froze then it will work again but 30 seconds later it will freeze. does any one else have this problem? its very annyoing and i would love a solution.
i have a second problem. when i stop a movie and i want to turn my ipod off for a little i am not ably to turn it off. i tryed pressing and holding the play button and also clicking alot on the sleep button on the main menu but it just wont respond. i can do other things, just not turn it off. i can finaly turn it off after about 5 minutes of trying. i noticed that there is a hummung noise when i put the ipod to my ear during the time i cant turn it off, and when the noise stops i can.

have you updated with ipod updater 3-23-06?
I've heard that the problem where video play stops and then audio quits was resolved at least for some people with this update.
when the ipod makes independent noise that is usually the harddrive working. sometimes after a while of video playback the ipod gets warm and it won't respond to sleep commands until it cools off and the harddrive stops running. then you can turn it off.
when that happens have you tried resetting? (holding down menu and select buttons until apple screen comes on). I think that might help it respond faster.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Im not sure how to go about this and if this is something created through Acrobat or through InDesign. I didnt see anything in ID when converting to a PDF that would save layers in that way so I assume its done in Acrobat Pro? Just need and idea of where to start

Check your cable whether it is good. If it is use the wall plug to charge at least half an hour. See how it goes.

Try resetting it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then releasing. You won't lose any data by doing this.
