I cannot access my history
I can never access the history of any sites I have been to previously. When I open the window that is supposed to show me my history, it's blank. The 'most visited' tab is always empty. How do I solve this?
Check that you still keep history.
To see all the History and Cookie settings, select:
* Firefox (Tools) > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
This can also be caused by a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I downloaded the new 3.6.6 and now cannot access any history from beyond yesterday
I have a Windows 7 laptop, 64bit. I have always accessed all history of places I have been on the web. After downloading the latest upgrade from Firefox. 3.6.6., I now am unable to access my History for anything beyond Yesterday.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== upgraded to Firefox 3.6.6.This is normally caused by a firewall blocking the new version of Firefox. For details see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Cannot+connect+after+upgrading+Firefox

Cannot access purchase history from before 2011
I recently got a PS Vita and wanted to get some Playstation Classics on it that I purchased in 2009. I have the games on my PS3 and I can't find the games in my purchase history, nor can I actually find the games on the PSN store. What can I do to access those games?
I was having the exact same problem, so here is how I got back to my History. Bear with me it is a bunch of steps, but mainly working through the apple's "Help" section till it takes you directly to the history page ... So - follow this link: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ (or if you are worried about a virus, then go to Apple's site then click support then click itunes). In the drop down section under "Customer Service" click on the "Itunes store and Account Billing" tab and it will give you a list I clicked on "Billing Inquiries" and got some info off to the right on my screen. I then click the blue sentence that says, "Finding your iTunes Store purchase history ... " and a popup box appeared. In the middle of the popup box were the words, "Purchase History" in blue. When I clicked that I was taken to my purchase history in my itunes program (FYI - a box did pop up asking me to let Int Expl open my itunes). I hope that helps - it took a while for me to find it, but it makes Christmas all the better to have something to actually print out and give.
Merry Christmas

I cannot access the internet the screen is grey, I have tried by using the answer from someone but it does not work...I went to settings, tap safari, then clear the history, cookies, and cache, then turn off ipad. When I did that twice, it did not work. How long does it take for the clear history to work? I am a brand new
user of the ipad2 and I am disappointed that this is happening already.Have you been able to access the internet previously and now it's suddenly not working, or are you still trying to access the internet for the first time on your iPad? Are you at home trying to connect through your home router? If you are at home, did you put your home routers encryption code as your password? The encryption code is what your iPad is looking for and it is usually found on the router and is typically a 13 digit combination of letters and numbers. Let us know......

In FF4 I cannot find where to access the history. I go to the red drop down box in the top of the left hand corner and there is a link to a history drop down, but then there will be nothing displayed- not for the day, or the week, or---. Where has the access to this information been moved? I am using Windows 7 .
CTRL+H should give you your history unless you enabled "Clear Browsing History" in Options | Options | Privacy.
Have a look at this add-on too: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/undo-closed-tabs-button/ -
ASA 5505 Static hosts cannot access outside
I'm replacing an old PIX with a second hand ASA firewall.
I have configured the ASA in a very similar manner to how the PIX was set up but I'm having trouble with some hosts on the inside accessing the Internet. Any inside hosts which use DHCP work fine. Any inside hosts with a static IP (and configured on the ASA with a "static" rule) cannot access the Internet. For example, in the config below the server daviker-dialler cannot access the Internet.
I've spent a few days working on this now and have started from scratch several times but I'm not getting anywhere.
Apologies for all the X's everywhere, didn't like to post anything sensitive on the Internet. If I've obscured something pertinent let me know.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

: endHi Jouni,
Thanks for the info.
I didn't have icmp traffic allowed, so I knew ping wouldn't be working. I was testing using http.
I have enabled icmp and dhcp clients can ping outside. Static nat clients can't ping outside. Static clients also cannot use outbound http.
As suggested, I have run some packet traces.
From a static nat client on the ASA:

This looks fine to me, but as I say, an outbound tcp port 80 connection from the actual machine on 10.0.0.81 fails.

I can see the difference in the NAT translation section. A real outbound tcp port 80 connection from the actual machine on 10.0.0.20 works fine.
Finally, for the sake of comparison, I ran a similar packet trace using a static nat IP on the old PIX firewall:

Outbound traffic from static nat hosts on the old PIX firewall works fine. One glaring difference is that the PIX is inspecting http traffic, but surely this is a red herring. Another difference is that the old and new firewalls have different gateways / default routes & different outside IP addresses. As the new ASA firewall (and its dhcp hosts) can talk to the outside world quite happily I don't think this is relevant.
I wondered whether it might be down to the difference in the inside (255.255.255.0) and outside (255.255.255.192) subnets. The set up is the same on the PIX, but I wondered whether some other line of config might be required on the ASA to handle it. I adjusted the subnet of the inside interface on the ASA to match the outside one (both 255.255.255.192) but it didn't make any difference.
So I'm puzzled! -

Cannot access internal LAN after VPN connect
I know this is either an ACL or NAT issue that I cannot figure out. The nat-t config in defaulted in the IOS config for the ASA. I actually forgot the command to show the hidden default config lines. Either way, can someone take a look at my config, and let me know what I am doing wrong, again.
Thanks ahead of time.

I have been trying to get this to work within the last week but to no avail. I changed my config altogether and started from scratch. I have Split Tunnel working well, and I can access the VPN client from the internal LAN. But I still cannot access the internal LAN from the VPN client host. Can anyone take a look at my config and tell me what ACL\Access Group I am missing. I know I am close but I cannot get over the hump.
Thanks!

I upgraded to iOS x mavericks on my iMac now i cannot access my iPhoto i get this messageThis update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. I have not changed anything thankyou for any info.
Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.
Step 1
A purchased app can only be updated by signing in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to buy it. There's no way around that limitation, which also applies to free apps. If you can't sign in with the buyer's ID, delete the app and reinstall it. You'll have to pay for it again, if applicable.
Step 2
If you get the alert when trying to update a bundled iLife app, elect the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app in your purchase history. If there's a button marked ACCEPT on the right, click it.
If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
Step 3
If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
Step 4
From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ View My Account
Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.

Cannot access help file from iPhoto
IPhotos cannot access iPhoto's tutorial from the apps help window. Apple diagnostics indicates my network is functional and passes diagnostics. iPhoto cannot access my wifi network. The message also says to check back later.
HowieThere are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have. -
[resolved] Cannot access particular site
I cannot access http://www.philosophypages.com. I tested using the "is it down or is it me?" site and apparently, it is "just me". I can ping the site fine. But if I try to view the page in firefox, it hangs forever. I don't see any complaints in the error/warning/info console, though. If I try to access it with lynx, eventually it just times out and says it could not make the connection.
I've accessed the same site just fine before. I can access other sites just fine now.
Can anybody suggest ways to track the issue down?

Since I disabled features in the people widget, I cannot access gmail
I was so annoyed at the people widget covering up my emails that I disabled all the features IN it instead of the whole widget (which I have since learned how to do) and now I cannot access gmail with firefox. I can with internet explorer though, but prefer to use firefox.
-> Tap '''ALT''' key or press '''F10''' to show the Menu Bar
-> go to Help Menu -> select '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled'''
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
-> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted/Incompatible Toolbars
-> go to Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''Time range to clear: select "EVERYTHING"''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on '''Cookies, Cache''' -> click '''Clear Now'''
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> in '''Startup''' section click '''Reset to Default''' button
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Offline Storage (Cache): click '''Clear Now''' button
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon on SearchBar -> click '''Manage Search Engines''' -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click '''Remove''' -> click OK
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious/Incompatible Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Appearance section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious/Incompatible Themes (Persona) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons and Themes later. Check and tell if its working. -

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
Cheers, Tom
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar and delete your email account.
Then tap Settings > Safari > and Tap Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
Now tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar and re-enter your email account credentials.

Cannot access a work IP address
I am working from a MacBook Pro. I work from home. I cannot access two work websites. I also cannot access my work e-mail. My two work websites have the same IP address. I had AT&T come out after extensive time on the phone with their 2nd tier tech group help me. They eventually replaced my modem. Once the modem was replaced it worked flawlessly until the next day when I tried to access the two websites and also e-mail. I thought it was an AT&T issue so I switched over to Time Warner. Once again with the new modem it worked flawlessly. Next day fail. I cannot ping the IP address and I have also have cleared the Cache, cookies, and history. I am running an OS X Maverick. If I turn on my hotspot on my phone I am able to access the websites and my work e-mail but that would end up being so costly to run this data 8 hours a day on my phone.
When I am working I sit on these 2 websites for 5 to 6 hours a day because I need to access information.Hi.
It is true.
A reason is the SSO cookies mechanism, and it cannot work without a hostname.

So here's the problem from start to finish:
A while back I was experiencing some trouble with my Time Machine backups - they just kept failing. So I turned off time machine on my machine, de-selected the Time Capsule as my backup point, and rebooted the time capsule. Popped on time machine again, reselected "data" and then away we went with the backup. I was a bit concerned by the fact that it said "oldest backup: none" but then discovered that when it started backing up it wasn't doing my whole hard drive just a block of close to 50 gigs or so -- seemed within reason.
Today I went to try and grab a file from a few months back only to discover I could only go back as far as Feb 8th (around the time when I re-setup time machine). There were entries dating back almost a year, which I expected but all of the items were "faded". They had dates - I could jump to March 17th for example, but when I got there I was greeted by a black box and no ability to pull anything down from time machine.
I thought maybe it was this folder - but nope, tried a couple others and they were all the same.
I only have one sparse bundle for this computer on the time capsule "data" drive, and it's ~1.5 TB in size. When I open up the sparse bundle and look there are lots and lots of folders (granted if I try to open any finder just shows the pinwheel in the lower right corner and does nothing) so I'm guessing that things are still there... but for some reason I cannot access them.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Are my files still there? Is my sparse bundle corrupt? Is it because this is all over the network? Is there a way to copy the contents of the time capsule over to another harddrive which I can then use in it's place?
This is for my "old" computer, that has recently been replaced. My new computer is currently not being backed up at all because there's no room left on the time capsule because of the giant backup for my old computer, a backup I'm now not even sure really exists. If that's the case I'll just re-format the harddrive and away we go.
Any insight that could be offered would be greatly appreciated. Are you on Mavericks now??
Did the problem start when you upgraded to Mavericks?? If so you are one amongst many.
Mavericks does something terrible to the old backups. If you can get access to them is unknown.
Firstly mount the sparsebundle and do a verify via disk utility.
See A5 here. http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
Try some of the solutions in the E section.. eg E2-E4
I hope you do realise if you deleted the file from the computer.. then TM will delete it from the backup.. not immediately but eventually it will. TM is not a good way to keep history of backups.. It is a current snapshot.
It sounds like you have tried correctly to open the sparsebundle in finder and locate the file.. This is worth while continuing but you just have to persevere .. open many dates around when you know the file was there. If it is gone.. well sorry it is gone.
TM is not particularly reliable now since Mavericks. you haven't told me you are on Mavericks but the issues smell like that.
