What is the error message that you get when you try to install the driver?
Have you downloaded the right driver for your graphic card? The right driver for your notebook is mentioned in the link below:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=da&cc=dk&dlc=da&sw_lang=&product=5353...
Please download this softpaq and try to install this. (In case you are unable to install this in regular mode, try to boot into Safe mode, (by pressing F10 during during boot process and select "safe mode") and then check if you can install the driver.
Also you can download and install the latest version of BIOS from the following link:
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=6886537&swItemId=ob_135192_1&swEnvOid=405...
This should help.
In case you still have any issues, please post your error message here.

    Hi,
No, you can't upgrade the graphics chip as it's a shared Intel graphics. You couldn't also upgrade a dedicated graphics like nVidia or ATI ones as it is soldered to the motherboard. The only way how to upgrade a graphics chip on a laptop like this is to replace the motherboard by a compatible one with a more powerful chip on it.

So can you please help me because i don`t know what do to..

    Hi
    I can not understand this.
The unit supports the Intel GL40 graphic chipset.
The Intel driver from the Toshiba page should be ok
In readme.txt file you can find exact the same info which has been posted by Paolo30.
    1. Click "Start" then right click on "Computer" button and then choose Manage.
    2. Permit the User Account Control to run by selecting the "continue" button. When the Computer Management window opens select the "device manager" icon. (NOTE: IF UPDATING DRIVER GO TO STEP 3B)
3a. Double click "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)". (Go To STEP 4)
3b. Select "Display adapters" then Double click on the graphics controller
    shown.
    4. Click on "driver" tab and select "Update Driver".
    5. Select the following option: "Browse my computer for driver software".
    6. Select the following option: "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".
    7. Click on the "Have Disk..." button and then the "Browse" button.
    8. Enter the directory where you unzipped the file you downloaded, and then enter the "Graphics" subdirectory. Locate and highlight the "igdlh.INF" (if 32-bit) or "igdlh64.INF" (if 64-bit). Click on the "Open" button.
    9. Click on the "OK" button. A window listing all of the available display types should open. Select the display adapter that your system contains and then click on the "Next" button.
    10. Click on the "Next" button. The operating system will install the driver. Click on the "Finish" button when done.
    11. Click on the "Close" button and then click on the "Yes" button to reboot. The driver should now be loaded.

  • It is possible to install a graphics card for the hp touchsmart iq504 series?

Hey folks I've had my pc for awhile now. According to the datasheet it saids that a graphics card can be upgraded but the power supply may need to also be upgraded check with the company of the graphics card. So i tried email hp but no answer on the question. Im thinking of trying to get either a ati radion 4270 512 mb card or nvida if its allowed. Mostly from online search through google many folks say its upgradeable but when gaming it acts more like a laptop their for performance is horrible. Is this true? I've tried to install games on my laptop that has a radion hd 4250 graphics card but gaming just doesnt add up the same as a desktop. So if anybody has some opinions or tips that could help me in area would gladly appreciate it.
    Thanks hp fan gmoney38

The graphics in the IQ5xx series can not be upgraded in the way you're thinking, the Touchsmart line does indeed resemble a laptop more than a desktop.
In general the opinion is that it is not worth persuing a graphics update for these products.

after a restart it works for a time, but always slow. I went to the Applestore this afternoon and the made a check and said it would be the logicboard and they would have to change it for CHF 600 and it would be ready in 10 - 15 days

  • Installed new graphic card (ASUS Geforce GTX 750ti. PC stuck at the blue welcome screen

    Hi,
I just bought the ASUS Geforce GTX 750ti STRIX OC Edition (without external power connector).
After I installed it, I wont get past the HP welcome screen. It gives one beep 3 times, and then 1 and 2 short before the screen turns black.
    My computer is:
    HP P7-1072sc
    (I have installed a 500w power supply.)
    Running on windows 7
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,
There is a BIOS update posted for you PC but I don't think that it will solve your problem.  You might want to install it and see if anything changes.
You may have to RMA the graphics card back to ASUS.  ASUS may be able to flash the BIOS on the card to make it work or replace it with a different graphics card that will work.
Many of the NVIDIA GTX 750 graphics cards are enabled for a full UEFI BIOS PC and your PC is not at that level.

  • Satellite L350-159 - Can I install a graphics card?

Hello everyone, I got a friend to check what graphics card I had the other day, as I play games and noticed that the graphics weren't fantastic. He checked it out and then told me I actually haven't got a proper graphics card!
I'd love to remedy this, but is there any way to get into the laptop to install a graphics card? and if so, what kind of graphics card would you recommend? some are rather big, and i'm not sure they could fit. I noticed some panels on the bottom of my laptop that can be screwed off - do one of those lead to a place to put a graphics card?
    Thank for the help,
    Michael

    Hello
The graphic card cant be exchanged because its soldered on the mainboard. So thats not possible to exchange it.
If you dont believe it, read this interesting Toshiba document:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm
As Akuma said the point is that the Satellite L series is not designed for gaming. I have a Satellite L300 and a Qosmio X300. The Satellite L is really great for my work, picture editing, E-Mails and office. The X300 is really perfect for games Its fast enough for all games I have.

  • My HPE h9-1215t Phoenix is missing the Graphics Card Retaining Bracket.

Hello all. I recently purchased a Windows 7 model HPE h9-1215t Phoenix desktop from the HP store. The day before I placed the order, the computer was available with the Nvidia GTX 680 as an option, but that was removed the day I purchased the computer, so I ordered the computer, and purchased an EVGA GTX 680 instead (yeah, cost me about $300+ extra too). Well, today, a week or so after receiving the computer, I got a chance to open it up and take a look at the specs on the side of the PSU to be sure that I am able to run a GTX 680 in there as it requires at least a 550w PSu with at least 38A to the 12v rails. I knew I was good on the 550W as it comes with a 600w PSU, but I wanted to check the rail amperage. So I open up the side case cover, and take a look at the PSU, and I see that I should be able to run the graphics card just fine, and a call to EVAG tech support explaining what I had available confirmed it. But then I noticed something off acout the computer. I noticed it looked different than what I've seen in the manual, on the HP support site, and on tear down/install videos. Then I realized, IT'S MISSING THE GRAPHICS CARD RETAINING BRACKET. This bracket is basically a bracket that performs a couple functions, first off, it supports the graphics cards that are installed in these computers as they can be big, and the smaller/weaker h9 frame need a little support. Also, it supports and adds rigidity to the entire frame/body itself. Well, I looked on the case cover, and sure enough there's a diagram showing the missing piece, and how you have to remove it to work on the computer. I was on the phone HP ALL NIGHT, get fired back and forth from tech support, and to sales, and to tech, and to sales, and so on and so on. Sales support was alright and they seemed like they genuinely wanted to help but couldn't, tech support seemed like they didn't give two ****s, that is if you could even understand them well enough to pick up on their demeanor. After reciting my S/N, and model number, name and address and million times I gave up. Supervisors wouldn't even help. Sales gave me an option stating that they would send me out a new one, but, that I had to pay for the new one and have the charge held on my card until they either received the new one once I removed the bracket and put it on mine, or just sent back my old one. This was not an option as I don't have an extra $1000 on my credit line, and also, considering the fact that I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO IT. It's HP's big time f*** up, now why in the heck do I have to buy another computer so they will fix the issue?
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03028387
The bracket is shown in that tutorial from HP above, it's shown in "Step 2" and "Step 3" of the tutorial.
Now my question is, one, has anyone ever has this issue before? Because it really seems to be as if the person building this CTO computer forgot to reinstall the bracket when he'she finished up the job and bundled it up. Also, my other question is, WHO in the heck do I talk to about getting this replacement piece. Because obviously standard HP support is eithe runable, or completely not willing to help me with the issue. Can anything short of returning this computer and/or getting a replacement be done? Which isn't an option as I use this computer for work, and I absolutely can no be without it for longer than 1-day, and I absolutely refuse to purchase, or even let them put a charge/hold on my card for the additional amount for a new computer, as it's not my mistake, and I shouldn't have to fix the issue. HP should fix it. I don't understand why someone can't just get an h9 model, pop the ****er open, and put the dang part in the mail. When did things get so complicated and such to where people cant complete such a simple action? Can anyone, anyone at all help me? Anyone from HP? I would really like to hear your take on this, and your explanation as to why your emplyees completely refuse to help me. Seems to me as if HP now has my money, therefor they do not give 2 stinky ones.

It looks like the only graphics card option for this model is the GeForce GT 630 (2 GB). The GT 630 is not a large powerful card, so it is conceivable that the bracket isn't installed with integrated graphics or a low-end graphics card that doesn't require it. The "graphics card bracket" would mosr likely be installed with larger more powerful cards like the GeForce GTX680, Radeon HD7770, etc. Typically, the videos on HPs website are used for hundreds of different models and may show optional items not installed on a particular computer or may not show items that are installed. Just because a part is or isn't shown in the video, doesn't mean your specific computer is going to be the same.

  • 3 displays from a G5 (is installing 2 graphics cards an option?)

    Hi there,
I'm trying to set up 3 displays from my G5 with an ATI Radeon 9600 XT. Ideally two are to be mirrored and one independant. I have two 23" Cinema Displays and a cheap Philips 190CW on which I'm trying to mirror one of the Apples. I bought a 1 x 4 DVI splitter (on ebay from Taiwan) which doesn't seem to work.
My regular 2 monitor set-up which has worked perfectly is to run one Cinema Display from the ADC output on the graphics card via an ADC to DVI converter and the other from the DVI on the card. So I thought I could simply run the DVI output into this splitter and run the extra monitor from one of the outs as well as the second Cinema Display giving me the mirroring on two. But all I get is the ADC connected Cinema Display and one or the other of the DVI connected monitors - not a split.
The splitter is supposed to support 4 monitors at 1920 x 1200 but when I connect all three to the splitter it only gives me one!
    I have three questions:
    1) Is it just a a dodgy Splitter?
    2) If so can anyone recomend one that will work or a way to do what I want?
    3) Is it possible to install a second graphics card such as another ATI Radeon 9600 XT and run 3 displays from them?
I'd very much appreciate any suggestions.
    Cheers GR
    G5 2.5 Duel   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   G4 17" Powerbook 167

    Thanks very much.
That does answer my question but doesn't solve my problem...
It seems to be working on all three monitors in that configuration but it doesn't really do what I need in terms of the physical placement of the Apple Displays - I need them to stay together unmirrored and the Philips monitor a few metres away mirroring one of the Apples. (I'd love to get another 23" Apple but it's 5 x the $$$). How slow in everyday terms would it be with an extra graphics card? I'm doing this for a music recording set-up.
    Thanks again for your help.
    Cheers GR

  • Equium A100-027: Is it possible to upgrade the graphic card?

I recently received an Equium A100-027 for my birthday. Overall I'm extremely pleased with it, however the only problem I have is with the graphics card. I am a gamer, and the graphics card just can't handle most modern games.
I am looking into how to upgrade it, how much it will cost etc. However I don't wanna buy a graphics card just to realise that the inside is locked down. Since it's only a week old I also don't want to take a hammer to it just yet ;-)
Can anyone tell me how hard it is to upgrade the graphics card? Is it locked down, or easily accessible?

    Hi Emonn
Unfortunately, the graphic card upgrade is not possible. I dont know if you are familiar with the notebook technology but you should know that the graphic cards installed on the notebook motherboards are not same like the GPUs for desktop PCs.
The card a fixed and there is no way for an upgrade!!!
You can upgrade the memory modules or the HDD on the notebooks but not the graphic card!!!
Im also an gamer and Im a notebook owner but I dont use this unit for gaming but for usual usage like internet, programming, mps, etc
I have a second gaming machine and its a desktop PC. Its support a water cooling module and a really great graphic card but I will change it to the newest one NVIDIA which supports the directX10.
This is a future and all newest games will need this DrectX10!!!

  • Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card with my HP Envy DV7 - 7332EA

    Hi all,
I was hoping someone on here may be able to answer my question. I recently purchased a refurbished laptop from certain computer retailer, an HP Envy DV7-7332ea, it is an Intel i7, 16GB RAM and was supposed to come with a 2GB Nvidia GT635M. Long story short, said pc retailer did not tell me that the fault/refurbishment was with the graphics card and despite advertising it as being installed with the GT635M, it in fact had a shared Intel graphics card installed. Long story short after some truly horrific customer service - talking to my bedroom wall would have yielded the same level of responses - they have told me that the will not be fitting the correct graphics card - when pressed for an explanation or reason for this they have been unable to give me a technical explanation.
So, I'm assuming possibly the motherboard has been replaced as well which is preventing the graphics card from being upgraded. Now I realise that there could be numerous reasons this has happened, but I was hoping someone could answer me this.
Would the artchitecture of my laptop allow for a graphics card upgrade? If the motherboard has problems and these were resolved are the Envy range generally able to be upgraded?
    Thanks guys,

    Hi:
Unfortunately, the only way to upgrade the graphics adapter is to replace the motherboard with one that has the better nVidia GPU.
Doing that would cost about as much as buying a new notebook with the graphics solution you wanted in the first place.

  • Qosmio X305 will only boot in safe mode or when the graphics card disabled

    Hi All
I am having a very concerning issue with my laptop (Toshiba Qosmio X305). It will only boot in safe mode or if I disable the graphics card.
Awhile back I upgraded the drivers for the nVidia 9800M GTX from the nVidia website, it worked fine for awhile, but then it started crashing randomly by giving me a full screen of random color then switching off. I fixed this by rolling back to the previous version of the drivers (the drivers that came with the laptop software).
After that it working perfectly for months but yesterday my machine started crashing and I could not get it to boot correctly.
I have completely deleted (not just a quick format) both the hard drives that came internally in the laptop and I have installed a clean version (the out of the box option) of the x64 Vista that came with the laptop from the recovery disks I created. After I did the install, it boots fine as only the standard VGA device is used, as soon as I installed the driver off the drivers and applications disk it would not boot correctly:
Just after the status bar comes up and it is about to show the windows logo, just before login, I get a black screen. I can hear that it is booting fine and I can even log in to windows and by memory make things run, but I can't see anything. I then got the latest drivers, again from the nVidia website and they are not helping at all.
My system is as follows (nothing has been added, its is just how I got it):
    Vista Ultimate x64
    4.00 GB RAM
    Intel Core 2 Quad
Like I said previously it is a clean install of the operating system, I have not added any programs, except for installing and then updating the display drivers.
Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hi buddy,
It seems that this is a typical example, that only pretested display drivers from Toshiba should be used. Why?
The nVidia drivers are not pretested and they dont have an overheat protection. So for me it sounds like that the nVidia driver has destroyed your graphic card. That means no driver will help you and reinstallation of the whole system too.
I think the only option is replacing the graphic card. Therefore you should contact an authorized service provider in your country. Here you can search:
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com
Explain the whole story and then you will see, what the technicians say. If your notebook is under warranty, hopefully this will be covered too. Normally other display drivers you have to install on your own risk
    Good luck! :)
