I changed my Apple ID password, and now my iCloud won't let me sign in on my Mac. How do I fix this?

I changed my password for my Apple ID yesterday for security reasons (I change all my passwords every 2 months). I can log into iCloud on the internet to check my mail and my calendar plus I was able to change my password on my iPhone so it can still sync. However, my mac keeps rejecting my new password and won't connect. So I deleted the account off my Mac, and now when I'm trying to re-add it it keeps saying "You can't sign in at this time". Is there a glitch in the system? Is anyone else having the same problem?

I have been having the exact same issue for the last 2 months. has anyone got a fix for this? i also found that my App store will not connect???
this is sooo frustrating!!! APPLE products are not supposed to  be like this! why does'nt Apple FIX IT!!

    Please help.  I changed my apple id password and now cannot use facetime and my icloud continues to prompt me for my password and I continue to give it but, I repeatedly am prompted for the password unless I cancel the icloud.  I have tried changing my password back to the password I had before and this did not work.  I have tried to use another e-mail address for facetime and had verified that e-mail address and this did not work.  I do not know how to fix this problem.  I have thought about changing my apple id but am not sure how I would be able to carry over the same credit card number to the new apple ID.  I loved my Mac book Pro because I could facetime my boyfriend while I am working away and now I cannot.  I am starting to hate Mac.

    The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

    If the Preference Pane hangs, hit comand-option-escape and force quit System Preferences to avoid having to reboot.
    In order to sign out you need the original password if you have set up 'Find My ....'. However you can't now change the password back to the original one (as you are not allowed to re-use a password).In this situation only Support can help you.
    To contact  iCloud Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

    You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
    If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.

    It sounds like you are not able to log into FaceTime after changing your Apple ID password. I would use these troubleshooting steps from the following article to help you troubleshoot the issue:

    Use your Apple ID to register and use FaceTime. FaceTime registration validates your Apple ID and email address for use with FaceTime.

    Check that your email address is verified in FaceTime > Preferences.If FaceTime > Preferences shows your email status as "verifying," follow the instructions in the verification email that was sent to complete the process.

    We all need access to our email and we're happy to help make sure you are able to use your email account. Are you receiving a specific error message when attempting to send emails? Have you attempted to remove the AOL account entirely and the re-adding it? How did you attempt to reset the password?     If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
    The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
    The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
    Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
    Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
    Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

    seems like your phone isn't activated properly. try doing a hard reset (hold power+home until phone restarts).
    if you have a CDMA carrier, this might not fix it for you. call the carrier and ask them to reset the activation.

    Go to Settings > Store, touch your Apple ID, log out, then back in with the updated information.  Then go to Settings > iCLoud and verify the correct address.  Then do the same in Settings > Messages.......Once all all correct, you should be good to go......

    I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
    Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entries, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
    (Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

    It helps if you fill in the profile information so that we know what model Mac and version of OS X it is running.

    Did you ever accept these iLife apps into your Mac App Store account associated with this Apple ID when the Mac was new?
