I created a PDF from a work document. It uploaded successfully. Now I cant get it to down load to my personal computer files.

How to I get a PDF document to down load to my local computer?
It is a document I created on adobe online from a word document.@

Open the url for it in your browser.  If you have Reader installled it should open in the browser and you should be able to save it thru there.
If you have further questions about using Reader you should post them in the Reader forum.

  • Adobe crashes to desktop when I try to create a PDF from a Word document.

The PDF does end up getting created, but not before crashing my Adobe to my desktop, or even crashing it to the background so I have to kill Adobe in the task manager in order to get it to start again.  The progress bar used to fill up faster when it was working correctly, but now, the progress bar just slowly fills up under "Reading PDF Document" and then freezes.
    I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 on a Thinkpad T620.
    Please help!

    It's 9.4.
We are having multiple issues crop up on this system.  Its MS Office and antivirus are both unstable, and a SQL server update has failed, so I am beginning to suspect that this issue may be a symptom of a bigger problem.

  • Not Creating a PDF from a Word Document

Cambria is good looking font. There would other fonts too ...

    Actually, there are two messages.
First, it doesn't find Cambria. As it says, it will substitute Courier. This may not be what is wanted, but it isn't an error.
Then, there is an invalidfont error. This could be unconnected, but most likely it means it cannot find Courier either and has to give up.
    Usual causes:
    1. messing with the Distiller font locations
    2. messing with fonts
    3. installing a font manager which messes with fonts.
Font managers need careful setup to stop them touching required fonts.

  • Create PDF from a Word document within Acrobat

    Hi!
I am having trouble to create a PDF from a Word document within Acrobat itself, and not by using PDF Maker in Word. When I try to create a PDF using Acrobat, it gives me the choice to choose any Office format file, but Word format doesn't appear. I can convert from an Excel document or a PowerPoint document, but not from a Word document, even if Word 2010 is installed and works perferctly. Why?
I know I can make a PDF in Word itself by printing to the Adobe PDF printer or by using PDF Maker, but I want to resolve the issue in Acrobat that prevents me to select a Word document in the Create PDF dialog window. You can see the dialog box in the screenshot attached.
    Any help would be appreciated.
I am using Acrobat X version 10.1.8 on Windows 7 Home Premium and I have Office 2010 installed (with Word 2010).

Thanks for your reply. PDF Maker works in all of my Office applications. However, in Acrobat, the file formats available for me to create PDF from figure all the Office file formats except the one for Word. This is not normal. At my school, Acrobat X and Office 2007 are installed, and I can use there both PDF Maker in Word and creating PDF from Word document within Acrobat.
So I think maybe there's a key in my Windows registry that is not set correctly? or something like that. I repaired the installation of Office 2010, and I did so for Acrobat X too, but it doesn't help. Any idea of how I can resolve that?

  • How to keep high res when I create a pdf from Publisher doc

I created a pdf from a Publisher document, and the resolution is less than 300 dpi (about 500KB). The 1/2 page document is over 4MG as a Publisher document, so why did I lose resolution & what can I do to keep the resolution above 300?
I tried 3 different ways, "print," "press" and "print PowerPoint." Is it simply the fact I'm using the online trial?

    >Well, Aandi, I create the original images in Harvard Graphics and then print the HG file to a pdf using the Acrobat Distiller. The onscreen and printed graphic images in the pdf look pixelated along the edges--i.e., not as sharp as in the original.
Ok. Are these transparent graphics i.e. with ragged edges, or just
    rectangular graphics?
    >
    >When I called Customer Service/Sales to ask about v.9 allowing for higher res screen/print images, he checked with somebody and told me that the highest res. is 600 dpi.
I don't know why they said that. It's nonsense. Acrobat can store
images at very high resolution, though 600 dpi is considered an
enormous resolution, far higher than is needed for almost all
practical purposes. Do not confuse printer resolution with image
resolution: you don't try to match them together.
For example, a coffee table book with high quality pictures was
probably typeset on a 4000 dpi imagesetter, and the photos are
    probably around 300 dpi.
    >
    >I'm using v.5. I'm willing to upgrade if there is a reason to do so.
There are many possible reasons but higher resolutions isn't one of
them. What Distiller settings are you using for compression?

  • It used to be that when I created a pdf from a word or publisher document, hyperlinks worked fine. Now I cannot get them to work unless the text displayed for the link is the complete address and it all appears on one line. Why?

it used to be that when I created a pdf from a word or publisher document, hyperlinks worked fine. Now I cannot get them to work unless the text displayed for the link is the complete address and it all appears on one line. Why?

You can print to the Adobe PDF printer, but that only creates links that Acrobat or Reader recognize as such. That is the reason for needing the entire URL on one line. It is not actually an embedded link, but one created by Acrobat on the fly. With OFFICE 2013 you have two choices: 1. create the PDF with the print to Adobe PDF and then add the links in Acrobat so that they are complete or 2. I think the WORD save as PDF or XPS will create the PDF with links, but not sure. If so, that would be the quickest solution for you, but be aware of potential problems with the MS plugin.
Of course, the third option is to upgrade to XI which can be done with AA 9. You will probably not be eligible for a for an upgrade to whatever the next version will be.

  • Create a PDF from webpage using entire site option doesn't works

OK, guys, this is the problem...
After YEARS of testing from Acrpbat 4 thru 9 on Create a PDF from webpage using entire site option... it doesn't works properly and doesn't got the entire site. ALWAYS get an error of memory or any other error but FINALLY you NEVER got the entire site. I'm talking for a big website... not like amazon.com, but a big one.
I make a walkarround to try to capture the website in parts but Acrobat is not "intelligent" to make a resume capture of the site, because ALWAYS start from the begining instead from the resume position of the site...
My question is, HOW can get the ENTIRE SITE in a PDF document... without getting errors or stopping the capture process...
Don't have problem of low RAM memory because I'm in a MONSTER MACINTOSH.... 3.2 GHZ with 8 Core and 32 GB of RAM under Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.6 in Acrobat 9 Pro.
If I'm not wrong, the GET ENTIRE SITE option in Web Capture (Create a PDF from webpage using entire site option) doesn't works from Acrobat 4 thru 9 in Pro version... tested, you'll never got the entire site... I'm talking in capture a huge entire site and not a little one...
    Can someone help me?
    Thanks.

Ok so I go to a web page and select something to print. Once I've clicked print I switch over from printer/micosoft xps docu writer/fax and select Adobe PDF. All goes through with a 'Create Adobe PDF' coming up progressing through to eventually save and store. Once I open the file it end up as the picture above. I have the same version on another computer and that works fine but this particular Sony laptop it doesn't seem to work properly.

Can't create new pdfs from powerpoint; either form within Adobe or within powerpoint.  I could do this yesterday and today it won't work for some reason.  The error says "an unexpected error occurred.  PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF.  How do I fix this?

Is there a log file in the document folder indicating what the problem was. There are a number of reasons that PDF creation may fail. You can try to print to the Adobe PDF printer to see if there is any indication in that process. The processing is different, but the same problems may show up with both processes.

Why can I not create a PDF from a web page on my Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro on my new Windows 8 computer? It worked fine on my windows XP system?

Acrobat 8 is not compatible with Windows 8,  for the simple reason it was
created much before it and Adobe could not participate the changes to the
OS that Microsoft implemented many years later on. You need to buy the
    current version for compatibility.

Agreed. Adobe makes no claims that their Reader will work properly with forms made from third party software.

  • With the upgrade to Acrobat Pro 9.4.6 I can no longer create a pdf from a document.

I am using Window XP, Office 2007 Professional.  When the upgrade occurred, I lost the functionallity of creating a pdf from Publisher.  I go through the print, select Adobe PDF and then print.  Sometimes it looks like it is creating a pdf and then on results.  Othertimes it just blinks and returns to Publisher.  Adobe wil not let me un-install the last update.  Any suggestions?

  • Hyperlinks not converting when creating a pdf from Word 2010 to Adobe Acrobat 11.0.6

First off, let me say that these are not table of contents hyperlinks.  I have created a document in Word 2010 (not a MAC) with hyperlinks to files residing on our company's intranet.  In Word the hyperlinks work great but when I create the pdf, the links do not work.  I have converted using both PDFMaker from Word and Create a pdf from within Acrobat.  Yes, I have all the boxes checked regarding saving links.  The links appear to work partially.  Meaning that when I hover the cursor over the link, the pointy finger appears but when I click I get a pop-up message telling me the file could not be opened.  Also, when I hover over the hyperlink, the address appears.  So, I think it knows there's a link and it tries to open but can't.  When I create the file within Adobe the link works - once.  When I click on the link I get a pop-up window asking me if I want to save my file before closing.  After my response the file closes and the linked file opens.  However, when I go back into the file and try the hyperlink again, I get the pop-up telling me the file cannot be opened.  HELP!  I am at my wits end.  After spending hours yesterday trying to research (I think I read every thread related to hyperlinks but I am not using a Mac, table of contents or Adobe 7 around which it seems all the prior questions revolve) and futily creating and recreating the pdf (as if doing the same thing repeatedly would somehow magically work) I am about to give up.  This is a document that will be published to our intranet for use by employees which cross-references other documents to which they can refer for additional information.  I would prefer to publish a pdf and not a Word document.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for your input Bill. I've checked the preferences and "view large images" is turned on. It's not all of the images which are missing, only certain ones do not transfer over to PDF.

  • Acrobat crashes when creating a PDF from a web page

Whenever I ask Acrobat to create a PDF from a web page, it crashes halfway through the process.  Here is an example from the BBC:-
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-19585341
Printing to PDF from the browser does not produce an accurate document.  The font is too big, and most of the pictures do not appear.
    I use Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.4.
This is a PC problem.  On the Mac it works.

The problem I mentioned is peculiar to Acrobat 10 and also to my PC.  On a Mac I can create PDF's from webpages normally.
I also notice that when printing to PDF from Opera only the first page comes out.  (Using Firefox all pages are printed to PDF.)
