I'm not clear on exactly what it is you're asking, but if you're referring to changing opacity, you can change the opacity setting for the States of a menu item via the States panel and Control Strip.

Bridge will do the job. View > Sort > ByType. Then you can choose a group of one type and put the files in a separate folder.

the title is self-explanatory. i'm VERY new to flash so i don't understand a lot of the lingo. can anyone give me a simple answer or, better yet, fix the code for me? i'm reading that it usually comes up when there's a child error but i'm not sure how to fix it.

thanks in advance!I'm trying to get my head around this, but here's my shot at it... you have an event listener assigned to navBAR_mc for a mouse over. When the mouseover occurs, you have the following line:
navBAR_mc.setChildIndex(event.target as MovieClip, 1);
Since navBAR_mc is the event.target, it cannot be a child of itself, but I think that's what that line is trying (and failing) to process.
So can you describe what you are trying to do. I would expect that navBAR_mc holds buttons, but based on what I see, it is the button. -
Is there a way to get Outlook to sync to the calendar and then to my phone (iphone4)?
I also need the contact list to sync to the computer, but not ot my phone.

With the newer Mac's, you cannot sync your iphone with Outlook. There use to be a way of doing this, but if you are running Yosemite, you cannot, so in
order to have the calendar information on your iphone and Outlook, you have to enter the information into both Outlook AND ical. -
Says i'm trying to import "PAL to NTSC" but I'm not
I used Compressor to create my .m2v file, as always (DVD, Best Quality, 90 minutes).
When I try to import that compressed file into DVD Studio Pro, I get this error message: "PAL assets cannot be imported into NTSC projects."
I didn't knowingly create a PAL file in Compressor. So what's going on? Please help.Seen this happen a couple of times.
You may have actualy created a PAL file. Check and recheck.
Quit and restart DVDSP.
You may need to throw away the DVDSP prefs but I dont' think so.
Try restarting the Mac, too.
DVDSP parses the first bit of the media file as you import it. Something is fooling DVDSP into thinking it's PAL. Could be frame size, frame rate, color space, or field orientation.

Why won't cells autopopulate when using numbers on the ipad as they will in excel? Anyone have a fix? I have also created a dropdown menu in excel, but that does not translate from excel to numbers either.

Paldeng, thanks for the suggestion. I've done all that. I can connect to the server, but apparently they are not recognizing my ID and password. I can use the server program if I don't go through Mail (using the same ID and password). My mother in another state with another provider has had the same email issue, as also my husband on his laptop who uses the same internet connection I do. His worked fine until we had it repaired at the Apple store and all the original programs reloaded (with the required updates, I assume). We can receive email in Mail, we just cannot send.
I contacted my service provider, and we went over my connections. They said it was not their problem and connected me with Apple, resulting in a charge to me because my warranty is long expired. Apple swears it is not their problem, it is the provider, so here I sit. My son was able to fix my Mom's Mail (she's 97) and got my husband's working also, until mine went out, by tweaking connection descriptions and ports remotely. The thing is, we had not messed with any of those settings, so what changed? I just did not want to bother my son again, as he has many other demands on his time.
Since this fiasco with the Mail v4.6 update, I'm wondering if something else was updated that works well with Lion and Mountain Lion, but does not work well with Snow Leopard and Leopard. I think the problem I had with the Mail update was that my Mail program had been renamed to Mail (original), and therefore was not being recognized by the update. Perhaps they had another tweak in there somewhere that is affecting outgoing mail connections? -
Ipad displays “ipad is disabled connect to itunes”, I have tried putting the ipad into recovery mode and then restoring but that does not work. I have also tried doing a hard reset of the ipad and that does not work either. Any ideas?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I do not know wat "reeked to reset" means.
Try the following:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Power off and then on your router.
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

I created a Pages document inserting 2 columns using 1) Inspector 2) Layout 3) columns. How do I decrease the height of the column. Have tried to use the cursor and drag down the top border, but that does not reset/decrease the top border.
Set your columns back to one for the moment. In layout mode, insert a Text box. Place it in the upper left corner of your document, and drag down and right to the size of the container for your two columns. Click inside the Text Box, and now bump up your columns to 2. Your two columns are now contained in this resizable Text Box.

I have iphoto 6 and my pictures are no longer showing. I have tried importing them but it just give me an error msg. (file format not recognized) I have tried rebuilding the iphoto library but that doesn't work either. Any suggestions?
How did you rebuild?
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption. -

Welcome to the Apple community.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals. -
I uninstalled Beta 4 and re-installed 3.6.13 now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing, I have been using Firefox for a long time but cannot resolve this problem can anyone help and give me a solution please. As I use Firefox as my web browser it is very frustrating.
The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Your Apple TV and iOS device (iPad) need to be on the same network subnet. If they are you can verify when playing that the ATV is set as the output device by clicking the icon to the the right of the fast-forwrd button. Or you can double-click the home button and swipe left twice to see this.
