    Why didn't you just call the apple customer service. I would've done that the first day. Why do people insist on complaining about something they could easily fix with common sense and one phone call.
    Not to mention they are bond to be out of things like that since the demand for 15-17" Pro's are so much higher than that of the 13".

    I tried to find somewhere that services them but?  That's itunes for you, and the ipod, itself?   I would never recomend ipods for anyone, because there isn't any place for you to get them fixed, I guess that they are just throw away cameras in the same sence, if it doesn't sharge any more, throw it out I guerss?

    What does iTunes have to do with it? And where do you live? Do you have any shops that do repairs on small electronics and/or smartphones?

  • Why doesn't my IPad purchases no longer transfer to my IPhone 4S.  I am really getting very annoyed with Apple and their products.

    I have never had issues with purchases made on my IPad or IPhone transferring to the other device.  Today, I purchased a song from ITunes on my IPad and it didn't transfer/sync to my IPhone 4S.  I tried syncing my phone on for the song on my MacBook Pro, and I got this crazy (and annoying) message stating I can't transfer the song for NINETY DAYS!  What did Apple do to ITunes and why?  I am getting so frustrated with Apple that if this continues, I will never again purchase another Apple product.

    There should be no reason you can't sync your itunes library to your iphone...
    Plug your phone into itunes... click on the iphone that is in the corner.. .it usually says your name... such as Lisa's iphone or whatever... then you will see some tabs such as... summary, music, videos, photos... on each one of those you need to check what you want to sync to your iphone. Once you check those boxes then click apply then scroll down and sync... do that one each section -photos, music etc...
    Apple doesn't want you to buy things over... that's why when you buy something trough itunes you can download it as many times as you want for life!

  • Very disappointed with Apple....

    I purchased a 20" iMac upon release, had the mid plain replaced five months ago. A week ago the computer wouldn't turn on. No problem, they sent me a new power supply. After installing and turning the computer on, I was treated to a flashing question mark and folder. I attempted to use disk utility and disk warrior but they would not mount. I re installed the OS and noticed no option to archive and all the hard disk space was free. Sure enough, after install everything was gone. Hundreds of hours of work, pictures, music, documents, programs, all of it gone.
    I called Apple, talked to the tech person then talked to a product specialist and explained I was no longer comfortable using this computer after two repairs and now worse case scenario, a total wipe of everything, and would like a replacement computer. He said no, since it works fine now and it doesn't fall within the criteria for replacement. I attempted to offer paying money and share the cost of a new computer. I was told if I wanted another computer I's have to pay full price.
    This is my first experience with a Mac and I am a little more than disappointed. I just bought a OWC external hard drive and a copy of data rescue. 80% of everything is gone. I now know I should have had an external but never needed one in the 10 years of owning a PC and certainly didn't think of buying one for the Mac. Lesson learned.
    Do you think I am being unreasonable asking for a replacement? If not, should I call back and speak to someone else? Any other thoughts?

    It's a simple matter of seeing what their return/price matching policy is. Maybe they'll do something, or you may consider their restocking fee (if any) to be acceptable for the upgrade.
    I too purchased a new iMac (though I got a display model from a retailer at what then seemed like a good price. Because of the good deal, I pounced, because I had seen nothing on the Mac rumour sites that indicated a new iMac coming out.
    Sure enough, here it is. In my case, day 13 of the 15 day return policy (and 30 day price matching). I spoke to the retailer, fully prepared to return my iMac tomorrow for a full refund and buy a new one direct from Apple, but he gave a substantial reduction on the already reduced price.
    I'm quite happy. The new features would be nice, but I determined that for me, they're not quite necessary. The refund on my CC is nice enough, thank you.
    No computer retailer or electronics manufacturer announces updates like this, as it would completely halt purchases of the current line. It's SOP. However, I would doubt the Apple Store knew absolutely nothing about it, if it was a corporate APPLE store.
    Should you be upset? I don't think so. Frustrated, maybe, but it's much like choosing which line to pick at the supermarket checkout - the other one always moves faster.

  • Very disappointed with G5 and Final Cut Pro

    At work we bought a G5 last year for Final Cut Pro to edit plain DV video downloaded from a MiniDV camcorder via Firewire. The machine has 4gig memory, 6800 graphics, and is running FCP 5.0 with all of the Software Updates installed. The G5 is supposed to replace a much older PC that is running Adobe Premiere 2.0 on Windows XP. Even though the PC only has a single Pentium 4 CPU and older ATI X800 graphics, it does FAR more real-time effects than Final Cut Pro does on the G5. Why is this?? Almost everything I do, from titles to minor effects will appear instantly on Premiere Pro, real-time, no rendering needed. But almost everything I do on the G5 will show me a big red X until it has rendered. If I add a title, I still have to wait for it to render. If I add a light blur effect, I still have to wait for it to render. This is very annyoing and very depressing, we spent a lot of money on the G5. In reality, at least for us, it is slower than the older PC it is supposed to replace forcing us to spend a lot of time staring at those big red X'es while Final Cut Pro renders.
    Are we doing something wrong? Or is this the case with all dual processor G5s running Final Cut Pro 5.0?? Is there anything we can do to speed up rendering or enable actual real-time effects/titles?

    Simple failure to understand your new tools. Open the manual, run the tutorials. Study carefully the sections on how to set up all of your preferences for DV. It's easy and when you're done you're going to feel really silly.
    If your company intends to make money with FCP you must invest time to understand what you bought since you bought it without bothering to test drive FCP on a G5. If you liked Premiere on Windows, you may never enjoy using FCP on Macintosh. The switch can be devastating. You could be one of those poor souls who just doesn't get it. Turn your system over to a more open minded person on your staff.

    I have applied to an official Apple service on 4th of December with this problem with nvidia-8600 chip that was confirmed by the official Aplpe service.
    I have a document that confirms the purchase date.
    It was sent to Apple by the official service and they refused.

    The chat intro says they will be with me in about 2 minutes, well I've waited over 22 minutes, with now response!!!!!
    Anyway;   I can't receive my e-mail on my iPhone.   I CAN  send e-mail but cannot receive/pick up 
    I had e-mail issues with my pc and after the TWC chat fixed that , then my iphone would not pick up my mail.   They gave me settings and said I should have iphone help me configure those settings for success

    That's an estimate, not a guarantee.
    You can always get support via email or by phone.  Try one of those.
    For your mail issue, try delting the account and readding it.
    If your email provider gave you the settings, they should also have told you where to input them.

    I cannot get my apple tv to respond to commands. I've turned it off repeatedly and thought maybe it was my harmony remote that controls all of my devices but I tried the apple tv remote and it doesn't respond to that either.  Anybody else having trouble with this?

    Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

So, when thepeople who worked in Apple asked me if I wanted to purchase a printer in promotion with my iBookG4, which was free after I mail my rebate, I purchased it as they told.
    However, the problem came! I've waited for my rebate for half year, which was supposed to be three months. Therefore, I called apple for the promotion inquiry, they told me to mail my information again, and so I did. And I waited for another three months, they told me they mailed it to me already, but I never received it. Therefore, I do as they told- wait for another month and they'll mail my rebate to me again. Then, another month came, but I did not received my rebate! And during this two years, I kept calling for my rebate, and they said they will mail it to me, but I never ever received it! I felt like I got deceived! And last time I called, they told me the promotion is closed, but they'll still mail it to me. But again! they didn't! I tried to find anyone who can help me, I went to the retail store, I mail to a costomer service line, but they never ever helped me! My rebate was just a $100 dollar, but seems like Apple is not responsible and do not care about their customers, therefore, I told this to all my friends, and recommend them not to buy Apple.

    My friend told me that Apple is not being responsible, they are lying to me that they mailed my rebate to me. It is because they should first file a lost track on the check that should be mail to me, and then mail my rebate back to me after they file it!

    This is, of course, the wrong place for your gripe. There is nothing we can do about it. There is a legal presumption that a letter mailed is received, but it is rebuttable. Letters can get lost or extremely delayed, I had a postcard take six months from Denver to New York City. Go to Apple and insist that that you never got your check. What really counts is was it cashed. Insist that they check that.

    You are correct, Blue tooth low engergy, BTLE.(only) devices are not backward compatible with Classic bluetooth and cannot connect.
    However the Apple 4S and above have Bluetooth 4.0 support.. Hardware wise it has bothClassic Bluetooth, like the 3GS, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy.  There is no good reason why your 4s cannot communicate to your Sony in-dash player using the Classic bluetooth that resides in the 4S.
    I know that this does not answer the why it does not work, but it should work. Do you have to somehow re-pair the new phone up to the player?  Not  knowing the model of the Sony it is hard to investigate.
    And I hate to ask but are you sure that the Bluetooth radio is on in the phone?

    If you mean that WiFi performance is poor when you connect to other WiFi access points, post details and someone may be able to offer suggestions to improve performance. If you mean that you wish to have connectivity when a WiFi access point is not available, then your options are:
    - Tether the iPad through a cellphone that offers Personal Hotspot capability;
    - buy a MiFi device, available through many carriers, and sign up for a data plan;
    - return or sell your WiFI-only iPad and buy a WiFi+Cellular model.
