I downloaded the iOS 8 update for my 4s and my phone has slowed to a point where it is too frustrating to use. I am in the market for a new phone and was considering upgrading to the iPhone 6 because I have really enjoyed my 4s over the years. Between the facebook updates (slowed the app to an unusable state), iOS 8 (made my phone even slower and killed the battery), and what apple did with the new U2 album I have decided to go with an Android phone.

I have upgrade ios 6 to ios7 on my iphone 5. I do NOT like it at all. I want to come back to the previous version. why is it so complicated? Why can I not find the instruction strait from apple? This is the worst possible upgrade ever. It make me think of when ericsson got sold to Sony....drastic PC change.

Unless as part of a backup, or stored somewhere else, they are gone.
Your son needs his own Apple ID for iCloud, FaceTime & iMessage. He can continue to use yours for iTunes content, but for everything else, he needs his own.
When you did what you did, as far as iCloud knows, this is the same person with multiple devices, and that's they way things are supposed to work: keep everything in sync. -
i was on windows 7 and i had to format my computer i put windows vista on and when i downloaded itunes and sync my iphone i lost all my photos music and apps that was on my phone,my itunes account says i have got to accounts on two computers?? is there anyway i can get anything back? please help me. i have tried restore to back up but it is the same????
If they really meant that much to you, they would have been copied off to a computer at the earliest possible opportunity.
I personally find it amazing that people get so upset when pictures "accidentally" get deleted and then scream about how important they are. You wouldn't leave important paper work lying around to be lost/damaged/stolen, so why take a chance with important pictures on a device that can so easily be lost/damaged/stolen, or deleted by a child. -
I pre-orderd the an album last week, and downloaded it when it became available on Monday morning.
However now itunes keeps trying to download the album again which is slowing my phone down and using too much 3G.
Can anyone help?It may be an authentication error.

I need to reinstall CS5 Design Standard on a new computer. I have uninstalled it on old computer, but now realize I am missing a disk. I have tried multiple avenues to track down the link for reinstalling this software, but have had no luck. Please provide a link where I can download software that I have already purchased on a disc. I have all of my serial numbers, and I can see the purchases in my account. But I can't find the download link. the one I was provided was not correct. Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately Apple products are very product specific. Ever notice how you can't exchange music via cable on a friends iPhone? It's the same blocking system that is used to block transferring data between two iPhones on a single computer. So, unfortunately you won't be able to retrieve the SMS messages you've lost. Sorry

For me, the big leap from iPhone 4 to 5 was about getting Siri, the bigger screen, more dataspace as I only had a 16 GB iPhone 4.
Some people have had bad experiences with wifi and battery so keep that in mind though Apple is replacing handsets that for whatever reason are having those issues.
iPhone 5 also has a better repairability rating.
If you are asking how to migrate your data to your iPhone 5, then there are several ways. First, back up your data to iCloud and to iTunes version 10.7. Make certain any photographs or voice recordings are saved on your computer as some people have lost photos and voice memos by syncing data.
When you connect to iTunes, you should be given an option to restore from backup and then you can try restoring your apps and data from iTunes by selecting your most recent backup file. This is the easiest way but sometimes results in some issues with the phone.
If that happens do a clean restore and don't use the backup file but re-sync everything manually. As I said previously, make certain your important information such as photos, contactsm voice memos, etc are stored on your computer so that you can get these back on your device.

Ok so I updated to iOS 7 on my iPod (5th) it let me update my apps but I cannot download new apps thanks to the terms and conditions. Also my iTunes won't start it just blank, I tried everything I need help
Did you download the new iTunes update that was also released this afternoon? That might be the problem. The new iTunes update came out today as well as the new iOS 7 update and if you haven't downloaded the new iTunes update it may be a compatibility problem so if you didn't, first update to the new iTunes and try again.

Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists. -

Thank you.My iPhone 5 wouldn't start after I turned it off a few minutes after writing this. It went into recovery mode and I had no choice but to connect to iTunes on PC and restore.
I restored to factory setting first, just to validate my phone was okay. For a second consecutive iOS update, the iPhone 5 did not update smoothly while connected to PC and iTunes - I had to retry two times before the progress bar for the update showed. (The exact same problem with the restart occured when I updated to 7.0.4.)
The good news is that I was ultimately able to restore the iPhone 5 to factory settings while running iOS 7.0.6. I did have a backup from about a month ago lying around and was able to successfully restore with that as well, so the damage done is almost negligible since I had my contacts, notes, mail, etc. backed up to iCloud.
Once I completed both restores, the sync with iTunes worked fine. -

Someone else may have a workaround, but, as far as I know, if you cannot interact with the screen on the iPhone, there is no way to unlock it so you can get to your contacts.
Were you saving them to iCloud by chance? If so, you can restore them to your new phone.
