I had to reload iTunes on my computer.  It "deleted" my music on my iPod.  It shows used storage but not music. HELP!!!!!

I had to install iTunes on a new computer when my previous computer was lost.  I tried to load my library from my ipod and it had problems.  The recommendation was to find and fix errors which promptly deleted my music from my ipod.  It says no music but shows the used storage like the music is still there.  I've looked on my computer for previous libraries and temp files but am unable to recover my music.  HELP!!!!

Restore the entire iTunes folder from the backup of the computer.

Not sure what you did to "reload your library", but you should copy the entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one using one of the methods outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527.  If this is not possible, follow the steps in this article to minimize/prevent data loss: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.

  • Another iPod Mini showing in XP but not iTunes.

I think the subject pretty much says it all.
Up until this week, my Ipod was connecting into iTunes without problem, then all of a sudden it is being picked up by windows but iTunes doesn't see anything, nor does the auto updater. (At least I can keep it charged with the music I already have on it)
Have tried reinstalling itunes, resetting the ipod and upgrading to itunes v6, none of which have actually helped.
Have been going through the discussions since it happened trying to find a solution, and so far nothing, and more advice from the community or Apple itself would be greatly appreciated.

Stompie, you might want to consider reinstalling something called Apple Mobile Device Support, which is what allows the iPod touch and iPhone to communicate with the computer. Part of what makes the iPod touch be recognized as a camera only is a malfunctioning AMDS.
    Go to your Applications folder
    Drag iTunes.app to the Trash
    Navigate to: Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts/
    Drag AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg to the trash
    Navigate to: Macintosh HD/System/Library/Extensions/
    Drag AppleMobileDevice.kext to the trash
    Restart the Mac
    Empty the Trash
    Download & install from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
Reinstalling iTunes won't change any of your preferences or library media, so you don't have to worry about losing your music or any of its data, although a good backup is always a good idea.
    Hope this is helpful

  • Ipod Nano3g shows on desktop but not in itunes?

So ive tried the five r's excerpt for restore because it has to show in itunes to do so....ironic?
    So basically it plugs in and charges, but i cant add songs to do it or sync it to itunes;

Ummm, ok.... hmmmm, this is on your Mac Mini, right? Older G5 Mini or a newer Intel Mini?
    This article...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61937
    states...
Certain models of single processor Power Macintosh G5 computers may show iPod nano mounted in the Finder but not recognized in iTunes. If this happens to you, try restarting your computer and Setting Energy Saver to highest performance and turn off hard disk sleep. If you have an iPod nano, but don't have a G5, then follow the other steps below.
The other steps all seem to deal with earlier versions of OS X. You are using 10.5? (your system info changed from your first post to your last post, dropping the 10.5 info).

  • IPod Nano shows on desktop, but not in iTunes

I haven't used this iPod Nano with my G5 since it was new. Today I connected it, and it shows up on the desktop, but it doesn't appear in iTunes. I unmounted it and connected it again. each time I do that, it tells me it's detected a software update, but when I check, the dialog box tells me it's current.
    any help, please?

    Have you seen this?
iPod appears on the Mac OS X desktop but not in iTunes.

  • Why does iTunes send music via iCloud to my ipad and iPhone, but not music videos

When I get music via itunes, icloud pushes them to my ios devices, but music videos do not.

Were the music videos purchased with a different Apple ID than the one you are using for iTunes Match?  If so, I don't believe they are eligible (same is true if the music video was not purchased from the iTunes Store).

  • My computer crashed and I had to reload Itunes my music is gone is there anyway to get it back?

My computer crashed and I had to reload Itunes. I tried to transfer my music again and it wouldn't let me said it was syncned to another Itunes it erased all my music and I can't get it back.  Does anyone know any way that I could? Also won't let me add music from another app like it did before.

Your music will be where you put it.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.

have new computer, had to reload itunes, a bit different than in my old computer. lost songs. they are in my ipod. downloaded a cd and unable to sync it with
my ipod nano i believe 2nd generation. it shows my ipod but nowhere to  download to it.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases

Certainly you did not reinstall everything without making sure your backup copy was up to date.

Now I can only open and view PDF’s  and I cannot edit them as I could before such as using Tools>Comment&Markup or Tools>Advanced Editing>TouchUp Text Tool. All the functions are greyed out. Please advise.

What's your OS? Acrobat 8 is not compatible with any modern OS.

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone .  The exception is itunes purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases

iTunes thinks you have a new computer because you restored the OS. Open iTunes and authorize it to the same account you have on the iPhone. Did you restore your iTunes content from a backup after resetting your computer? Have you been syncing regularly with the computer, and does the iTunes library on the computer contain your apps, music and videos? If so just sync and your content will be removed then restored.
If you have not hopefully you have now learned something. You can recover apps and purchased songs by connecting the phone, without syncing, and choose "Transfer purchases..." from the File menu.

    Hello there, Bevo2274.
The following Knowledge Base Article has great pointers on how to get your purchased music back to your iOS device:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Specifically the section under "Apps, Books, Music, Movies, or TV shows on iOS":
