What lens would be a best choice?

It's a tough question to answer as there is no best choice. Too many variables, what may be best for you wouldn't be for me.
Some people want one single lens to do everything, the so called Super Zooms. Sigma makes a 18-250 which would qualify. But the image quality and speed will never be that of more traditional ranged lenses. My personal recommendation to these people is, if you never plan on changing lenses then just get a point and shoot. The Canon SX50 fits this bill well. But if that's what you're looking for there's the sigma, or you can get the 18-200 from Canon.
As far as traditional ranged lenses, it depends on what you like to shoot. Some people love ultra wide angle for travel if they're look at old archetecture or panoramas. The Canon 10-22 is a great lens. A standard issue lens would be the 18-85 - decent quality, decent range. Others hold image quality and speed paramount and would use an L lens, like the 24-105L.

sales at AppStore are based upon 'users'= accounts; if the other Mac is running under your account, you can download and install a copy of iMovie 'for free' (the ToU of Appstore allow to install purchases on as many computers you own = running under your account)
If the other Mac is running under a different account, you have to log-in at AppStore under those account, and purchase it it.
Quiet simple ... and cheap. And convenient.-

Elements 7 cannot open Canon EOS 600D raw file

I try to open my Canon EOS 600D with Elements 7 and it displays a message "Cannot open [filename] because it is the wrong type of file". I understand my copy of Elements 7 doesn't has the latest of Camera Raw that supports EOS 600D. I found an update of Camera Raw 6.4.1 from Adobe that can support EOS 600D but it says it's only for Elements 9 or later.
Is there any way that I can open it in Elements 7?
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

You can use the 7.1 DNG Converter to convert your files to DNG copies which will then open in pse 7.

Is the Canon EOS 600D easy to use with FCE?

I am very new to DSLR video and am thinking about buying Canon's EOS 600D because the video seems so cinematic and the 60fps would be great for slow motion. I only have Final Cut Express and was wondering if FCE would accomodate this DSLR. I've began my research but the info is so scattered. I've read the ProRes format is the way to go. Is that in FCE? Would the 60fps be a problem in FCE?

FCE is not suitable for this camera. You need FCP and Cinema Tools. FCE does not support 59.94fps media. You can work around this if you have to using MPEG Streamclip to convert the media to 29.97. There are also free tools which will reconform your 59.94 media to 29.97 giving you slomo, but you would still need to convert the media. If you can wait till June when the whole game changes.

You mention that 'most' of your files are DNG. Try
running the effected files through Adobe DNG
converter again and then import your reprocessed
files to Aperture and see if the problem persists.
I had a problem with a batch of D2x files converted
to DNG which had been metadata tagged by

Are you getting any of the embedded XMP metadata
coming into Aperture during the import process?
Already tried that multiple times...no luck. I'm wondering though if it might be related to metadata as you suggest. I'm still trying different things to see what happens.
I was able to alleviate the problem on one set of images by painstakingly searching my external drive for the oldest backups I could find - CR2 files from before DNG conversion. I then ran those through DNG Converter and tried importing them again (this time, I embedded NO thumbnail, but I'm not sure if that made the difference - I think it was more likely a fluke in the original conversion that caused the problem). This time, it worked.
Now, the big problem is that I still have a couple hundred images for which I can't seem to locate the original CR2 files. I don't typically keep them after conversion, as I don't have the space for both.

I have a Canon EOS Rebel T3 1100D which will not turn on. Battery charger shows green light , but when installed camera will not turn on. Place battery back into charger and it shows yellow light and takes awhile to charge and show green light. I thought must need new battery but it does same thing. This camera has been trouble free from start, it is a few years old but didn't think i would have internal issuses already. Am i missing something? Printopia is another option but be aware that since these solutions effectively act as a print server and AirPrint receiver, they require a computer to be running on the same WiFi network.

Are you updating from the Editor, if not go to Expert Mode and click:
Help >> Updates
But check first under the Help menu that you are signed-in - your email address used for you Adobe ID should be visible. You should be able to update to v8.5

In researching the issue I read that to edit in raw you need a camera model requirement of at least 7.3 which only works with CS6.
That is correct. Your camera was first supported by Camera Raw 7.3. Camera Raw 7.3 will not work with CS5. You need CS6 or CC.
Being new to all this I see that my options are to upgrade to CS6 or convert by using DNG converter and paying a monthly fee. Two things I know nothing about and don't know which is would be more beneficial.
I'd appreciate any advise on which route to go and how upgrade and what it may cost.
It all depends on your preferred workflow and your budget.
Using the DNG converter is free. There is no monthly fee. You use the converter to convert all Raw files from the EOS 6D to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5. That's an extra step every time - every photo. Some people don't like the extra step. Others don't mind.

Version 9 should support the EOS 600D but you need to update your camera raw to 6.4.1 or 6.5.

You'll need to update to at least ACR 8.2 for the 70D to be recognized. The normal way to update PSE12 to the latest CR is to use Help / Updates in the Editor which should update to ACR 8.5.
According to Adobe's website PSE12 shipped with ACR 8.1 and you say it says yours is reported as ACR 8.0.
Are you using PSE 11 and not 12? PSE 11's maximum ACR version is 8.0.

If the form was created using LCD then it can only be edited there. This
application used to be bundled with Acrobat Pro, but that's no longer the
case. So if you want to edit this file then you need to purchase it, yes.

As a suggestion I'd put the Text_io segments into their own begin - exception - end sub-blocks within the main code. This way if Text_io does raise an exception you can catch it earlier as it may be able to recover - That is if it is a text_io exception.
Other than that you;ll have to step through in Debug.
