I have a Imac and I have 8.1 iphoto and it will not open my library it started after i tried to close all the windows with no luck and had to force the system down by turning it off. everythig else came back up olay except Iphoto
My iphto will not open after I had to shut down my imac due to it not being able to close iphoto . It just says opeartion not able to open.
Try at the very least to update your iPhoto version to 8.1.2.

You need to keep the keys pressed for several seconds. Close down Elements. Hold down the CtrlShiftAlt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Programs folder. Keep holding down all three keys until you get the settings option. You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?Click on YesThen wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences. The mail app on my Mac laptop will not open. This began happening after an upgrade during which "Security UPdate 2012-004" was installed. My mail app has a new icon, and I think i trashed the old program (trying to follow directions). Suggest a fix?

The new version of iBooks will not open on my iPad(3gen) after it was installed. Reinstalling makes no difference. It opens then closes right away. Any fix??
Anybody else have this problem?Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

I need to create a second back-up of iPhoto from Time Machine to a separate external drive. The old iPhoto in TM will not open. Please help! And thank you!
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store -

Version of Reader? File type? Downloaded and saved to your desktop or are you clicking a link?
Opening in browser or using File>Open in Reader?

(This applies to Win7 or Vista)
From the Start menu, click Computer.
In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
Click the View tab.
In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
Click OK.
Navigate to the following location by either typing it into the address bar, copying and pasting it into the address bar, or clicking through the folder hierarchy listed: C:\Program Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info
Right-click the SC Info.sidb file shown and on the shortcut menu, click Delete.
Right-click the SC Info.sidd file shown and on the shortcut menu, click Delete.
Restart the computer and open iTunes. -
I updated Pages two months ago to the latest version. BUT, my MAIL program will not allow me to send documents I attach that are genereated witht eh update Pages. And, when I save a doc to desktop generated in Pages, it will not opena, a box pops up and tells me the it wil not open until I have upgraded to the new PAges, WHICH I HAVE ALREADY DONE!!! What is UP with this, can anyone please help me? Would GREATLY appreciate it.
SAPages 5 is in a new format that is not compatible with GMail, Google, Amazon, DropBox and other 3rd party servers.

I have been using firefox for over a year with no problems. All of a sudden it has quit opening. I thought it might be something in my computer so I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it from your web site. It still will not open. What do I do now???????
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

My iPhone 4 will not open my purchased apps, anyone know what is going on? I just recently bought a new laptop and downloaded iTunes onto and synced my phone. I was also talking on my phone and it died, then I charged it and that is when the apps would no longer open. My mail, and iPod and safari work just not the purchased apps, if anyone know please write back!:)

After a hard-drive crash, Pages application was brought over from the old hard drive, and upgraded to snow leopard. However, Pages would not launch. I do not have the disks and the computer was given to me by my son with iWork 08 installed, so I do not have the ability to re-install using Purchases. I re-installed the update 3.0.3, which I already had, but thought it worth a try. That enabled Pages to launch, but it will not open a new or old document. I can see in preview the document, but it will not open. Any suggestions besides repurchasing Pages. I've just put out a lot of money for a new hard drive and retrieval of apps and docs from the old hard drive and would like not to have to put more money in it.
Thanks for any suggestions.You can not simply drag over Pages, particularly if it was perhaps damaged in a crash.
As it was only Pages '08 it may be time to upgrade to Pages '09 from the App Store. It is not that expensive and will allow you to install it on any Mac sharing the same Apple I.D. and protect you from a repeat of this problem.
There are free alternatives to Pages if you are hard strapped, it depends on what you are using Pages for, it is not the only option by far.
