I have a Mac osx 10.5.8 I HAD a Firefox browser but got sucked in by an update offer and now I have no Firefox browser and cannot get it back. Please advise.

I have a mac powerbook G4 OSX 10.5.8 I USED to have a Firefox browser, but I got sucked in by an invitation to update, didn't realize that the circle with a line through it meant, "don't try to put this in your computer" but it must mean something like that because even tho I later tried to load a different update for a Firefox browser that said for mac osx10.5 or later, and that came up with a circle with a line through it too. How do I find the Firefox version that is compatible with my laptop? The old one was working just fine until I tried the update!!! Please advise.

Did this back along to mine. Plug it into itunes on your pc (or Mac) and click on the ipod icon on the left hand side. When the device options come up on the main screen, click on restore. Follow the steps and it should restore to factory settings. If you had icloud activated on the ipod all previous purchases should be in the cloud and ready to download onto the ipod afte rit has been restored to factory settings, otherwise you'll have to download them all again. Hope it helped.

Where have you looked for iPhoto? Is it gone from your Dock or the applications folder?
Have you searched with Spotlight? Enter iPhoto into the searchfield in the upper right corner of your screen and then look, if it will be listed in the "Applications" section of the list.
What happenend, before iPhoto vanished? Did you upgrade any software?

What were you running before you updated? 10.10.2, or an earlier version of OS X (10.9 or earlier)?
If 10.10.2, then iPhoto should still be on your machine. If not, then go to the App Store, purchased tab, and look for iPhoto, and download it (you'll need iPhoto 9.6.1 to run on Yosemite).
If you never installed iPhoto from the Mac App Store, then you should contact AppleCare, who can probably help you out. That's the only option in this case; upgrading from 10.9 or earlier straight to 10.10.3 is a bad incidence of timing.

This is what it says under "iTunes will back up the following information":
Contacts* and Contact Favorites (regularly sync contacts to a computer or cloud service such as iCloud to back them up).
* Your contacts are part of the backup to preserve recent calls and favorites lists. Back up your contacts to a supported personal information manager (PIM), iCloud, or another cloud-based service to avoid any potential contact data loss.
Sounds like you may have experienced some of the "contact data loss". I suggest using iCloud in the future.

I set Firefox as default browser, and now IE is gone. How do I get it back?

I downloaded the current version of Foxfire and set it as my default browser. I need to apply for work and many companies only support IE. I clicked on IE and only Foxfire opens on that icon. After a lot of messing around with settings, and different windows, I found that it's only the desktop icons that are defaulting to open the Firefox browser. If you go to your program list, and open IE there, it works and all the bookmark info is still there.

Did you do a back up first? If so you should be able to sync to itunes again and have everything back.
