You could contact Apple Support and see if they have the original discs for that machine but it would be 10.4.11 and there's no reason not to go to at least Snow Leopard, especially since the 10.6 discs would probably cost the same as a replacement set of 10.4.11

I backed up my itunes folder to an external drive, then deleted it from the hard drive, then restored to the hard drive, but now can't see the files, playlists
Was the entire folder copied including the iTunesLibrary.itl file?

An MBA is a portable while an iMac is a desktop and is not portable. You could install Windows on either provided each had sufficient memory installed and a large enough hard drive. The iMac is better equipped for this from the outset, but the MBA can be adequately configured if you are willing to spend the money to do so.

No Japanese carrier provides unlocking services. Therefore, your phone must have been hacked to unlock it. That hack was removed when you updated the software. You need to be a legitimately unlocked phone.

i have an ipod touch. previously when i did not update it it used to download skype and kik messenger but now when i have updated it it wont download any od them. i have 4.2.1 software at the moment. im really confused, what might be the problem here?
Many developers when they updated their apps fro the newer iOSs dropped support for the older iOSs. That included Skype and other developers. Unless you have a copy of the apps version that was compatible with your iPod/iOS you are out of luck. Do you cave such a copy in a computer file backup??

I have a HP Laserjet P2055dn booklet printing is not working anymore. Windows 7 64 bit
I used to do booklet printing on my HP P2055dn; a feature that I loved! Suddently thisfeature stopped and therefore I updated the driver but now it is gone for good.
Under printer properties I used to have "General Printing", "dublex", "Envelops", " Booklet" and "Defaults".but now there is only "General" and "Duplex" the rest is gone.!!!!!.
I am using Windows 7, 64 bit, Word 2010. Neither printer driver P2055dnUPS PC6 nor HP univerals PCL 6 works.
Please note that I still have all the printer properties (above) on my laptop, Win7, 64 bit Word 2007 (old printer driver).
I assume this has something to do with the compatability of Office 2010 AND the Printer driver. I could easily test this by updating the printer driver on my laptop but I am afraid to lose this feature there too. Any useful advice!!!!
Update: I installed the old printer driver and have all printer properties!! There is a problem with HP updated relased in July 2011 !!
Update: although the software shows the booklet prining and envelop option. Booklet prining is not working. So my quess is that the HP frimware update screwed everything up!!! So what do do now?Hi,
Please update the printer driver with correct version and compatible with Windows version.
Then Open "Devices and Printers" and right click on "Printing Prefences"
Create new Printing Shotcuts as below.
Then go to the other tab Finishing and do exactly like the image.
Apply and Save.
Your Booklet printing and shotcuts is ready. now you can print.

The problem is I can only update the software on one of the three iPhones – the primary phone I used to setup the iTunes acct. What is the best solution to manage these devices for software updates, apps? This is probably a common problem with families wanting to share apps and music without realizing the issues created by this approach. As it stands today... the first (primary) iPhone associated with the iTune acct has been updated with the latest software version 5.1.1 and sync'd up with all the apps, music, etc from the one iTune acct, while the other two iPhones are still running on the original software version 4.0.2 and are experiencing problems now. I was advised by AT&T back in January that it would be necessary to setup separate iTunes accts for the second and third iPhones in order to receive system updates. The problem would be how to keep all the apps, etc from being deleted off the second and third phones that were originally loaded from the one iTunes acct. Since this AT&T advice was prior to iCloud coming out, would iCloud be a better solution or at least part of the solution? I really don't yet understand how iCloud works. I do have wifi connection but no internet, how is this possible? I logged in to the internet at my friends place and when I got home my own internet was not working anymore
This is possible to be connected to WiFi but not internet.
You connect to your modem/router via WiFi and whether it is connected to the internet or configured properly to route the internet to WiFi devices is a different story.
Now if you've already reset your WiFi (try disabling and enabling) and perhaps even restarting your MBP
Then make sure that your modem/router is connected to the internet.
You can try any other device, lights on the modem/router or use Eth cable to test.
Report back your findings. -

Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Macbook versus ipad? which one should i buy?
A few days before the ipad announcement I was just about to pull the trigger to buy a macbook. This was so I wouldn't be in my home office for hours after work but could be with the family on the couch catching on web-sites. My wife has her macbook and is in our den with the kids after normal work hours. Aside from my ipod touch, I have no way to check the news/sites I like except in the home office.
I was just about to purchase the macbook but I'm wondering if the ipad is a suitable alternative? I'm a gadget junkie but I don't really want to buy both. But I wonder if that ipad would really be good for say reading the wall street journal, shopping on amazon, etc. I know it's not out yet but I thought maybe someone has seen the samples or has thoughts about similar devices.
Also, will it work off my home wi-fi network or is signing up for ATT optional?

I think the iPad is a stunning device, but it's not the equivalent of a MacBook, and both have their own strengths. I think you'll find the iPad to be essentially a large iTouch, which in my thinking doesn't really extend your capabilities, except for the screen size. You need to think carefully about what your real uses might be (and how difficult it will be to get the iPad away from your wife and kids ).
Have you considered an MacBook Air? - much closer to the iPad size and weight with full laptop functionality.
