I have a macbook pro retina and just bought a macbook air. I want to share all my music between the two, both that which was purchased from iTunes and copied from my cd's.
I have a macbook pro retina and a macbook air which I just purchased, I want to share all of the music on the retina with the air.
The simplest way is to use an external USB drive. Copy the iTunes folder to the drive while it's connected to your MBP. When done eject the drive. Connect the drive to the MBA. Navigate in the Finder to the /Home/Music/ folder on the MBA. Copy the iTunes folder from the external drive into the /Home/Music/ folder.
OS X Mountain Lion- Drag and drop.
If you have a backup of your MBP, then you can use it to restore the /Home/Music/iTunes/ folder to the MBA.

Bruce you can do a lot but you need to be specific. Your question is so general it's impossible to get an idea what you have interest in doing. However the first place I'd start is looking into sharing on your System Preferences and before you start punching in preferences get yourself a book at a bookstore about OS X and study a little on sharing and OS X in general. Apple usually doesn’t sell RAM for older Macs. You’re probably better off buying it from a source such as OWC or Crucial and installing it yourself.

I have an iPhone5, 16 gb and a 120 gb iPod. All my songs won't fit on the iPhone of course. How can I just get some of them on the iPhone? I want to keep all my music on the iPod, but just want SOME of my music on the iphone. I am VERY new to all this so be gentle and thanks.
You Sync the Music you want on the Phone via iTunes on your computer.

I cant use my iphone because I'm getting the error message that I must connect to Itunes and when I do it says the only option I have is to restore my phone.
Try using RecBoot or TinyUmbrella to kick it out of Recovery mode.

When I plug in iPhone (5.1.1) to computer, playlists show up on the iPhone (when plugged in), that do not appear when it is not plugged in. And I can't erase them. What is your iPod firmware number as shown in the iTunes summary page?
Is there any error message when you try to sync the vidoes?

iCloud + Restoring my ipod question.
I just restored my ipod touch for the first time because it was unreadable in itunes, and I had manually backed up my ipod to iCloud prior.
The ipod is restored, but cloud not downloading any of my messages and pictures, and the other files that iCloud claims to back up?
How do I put these on my restored itouch?

I bought an unlocked Iphone 3GS, I needed to update Ios5 and restored the settings for that which was not authorised for unlocke, but after that iphone is not getting activate and no sim card insatlled error is there. i m using local sim card in Pakistan
You didn't buy an 'unlocked' iPhone 3GS - you bought a 'hacked' one.
Updating to iOS 5 removed the hack and the unofficial unlock.
All you can do is try to find out which network the phone is locked to and ask them if they can unlock it properly.
Otherwise, sell it or throw it away and buy an officially unlocked phone from an official source. -

I bought macbook pro retina 15 inch 2 weeks ago and it came with installed mavericks of course but ı want to create a recovery disk and to do that ı need to download mavericks installer from app store but when i click to download mavericks from appstore purchased part ı get a message says " Your purchasing process couldnt complete. OS X Mavericks cant be installed to this computer." How can ı solve this problem!??
One way around tis is to borrow a Mac that can run Mavericks and then the download will work. You can use these instructions:

I'd like to watch movies and TV shows, downloaded from iTunes or Amazon, on my MacBook Pro Retina, but they all look like they were filmed with an old sock over the lens. Daytime sequences look muddy, and night time sequences are incomprehensible with anything but the brightest objects rendered as black. I can watch the same files on my old MacBook Air and everything looks right, but no manner of tweaking seems to let me watch movies on my new machine.
I've tried adjusting the gamma. It's a bit better when gammas is set to 1.0, but I can't seem to set a gamma less than one. I tried using the Accessibility Contrast control, but it just lowers the contrast, swallowing my desktop into the dark abyss. I tried Applecare, but they don't have a clue. I tried the Apple Store. The "genius" confirmed that it is indeed impossible to watch movies shot anywhere but in the brightest sunlight on a MacBook Pro Retina, and it isn't just my machine, but every similar model in the store. He arranged for someone who really understands color profiles to give me a call, but Apple seems to have dropped the ball on this.
Is there some tool for stretching out the darker grays in Apple video? I don't want calibration. My impression is that my display, like the dozens I checked at the Apple Store are calibrated to make all dimmer grays appear completely black. I want uncalibration so I can actually see what is going on in the movies even if something is in a light shadow or shot at night. Hollywood has lots of trained technicians who can light and shoot night scenes that are quite comprehensible. I've watched a number of such scenes on my old MacBook Air. Now, I'd like to enjoy their artistry on my MacBook Pro Retina.http://www.ifixit.com/ has directions for do it yourself. Also look at PRAM battery instructions, as sometimes this can fix optical drive issues.

(AIRDROP) Macbook Pro Retina Display Can't see Macbook Pro mid 2012

I was trying to send and receive files from my macbook pro 13' mid 2012 (MBP) to and from macbook pro retina display 13' (MBPR) using airdrop.
both on Yosemite.
The problem is, I can't see my MBP from MBPR in airdrop. But the other way around works fine, I can see and send files from MBP to MBPR.
I've changed the 'allow me to be discovered by : Everyone' on both mac. Bluetooth and wifi are on. I even tried to search onlder mac from MBPR but no result.
Does anyone have the same problem? Is there any solution for this?I am aware there are symbols. My technical issue is the MagSafe2 adapter. What people typically do is connect their laptops to the wall when they're battery dies off. No biggie. I can attach it to the outlet. Well, when I connect the adapter to the outlet, nothing happens. Nothing happens at home, at Starbucks, at McDonalds, at other people's home.
When I brought this up with technical support in August when I bought it, technical support person said I might have issues with my electrical wiring at home. I've never had issues with electrical wiring at home because my other Apple products work fine when connected to the outlet. My July 2011 MacBook Pro charged without a hitch.
And I was able to charge my Retina MBP only at night or very early in the morning.
But this weekend, I couldn't charge it at all. I'm starting to think it might be the MagSafe2 adapter problem.
I feel rather ridiculous buying the highest-end of the 15 inch Retina MBP. It cost me over $3000. Right now I'm working with my 5 year old Hewlett Packard laptop. At least my HP works, which can't be said about this top-of-the line Apple product.
Probably explains why Apple stocks are falling. At $3000 I shouldn't be having these type of problems.
