I have a mid 2010 mac book pro.  Can I take advantage of the new Mavericks Apple TV feature and use my TV as a 2nd monitor?

After updating the software on Macbook and AppleTV I do not have an airplay icon on the menu bar.  All products are on the same network.

The 2009's didn't support sound on HDMI. That came in 2010. Are you sure it ever worked?

i have a mid 2007 mac book pro and i cant get mac osx mountain lion
please get back to me and it says on the apple website i would be able to get it

I would make sure it's deffinetely a mid 2007, and that's not just when you purchased it. Also you need at least 2GB of RAM and an intel core 2 duo processor with 8GB of HD space.

Yes. You need 2011 or later in order to mirror as it requires the newer processor. The alternative is airparrot, which does it via software.

I have a 15 inch mac book pro running osx 10.5.8. I recently moved to Florida and switched to Comcast (the only option). Now when I access my bank website, I can get past the login to my account page but the data is permanently unavailable. The bank says no one else has this problem. Everything is up to date as far as software is concerned. . .I just update anything that comes up. I have not had this problem with this computer anywhere else and I am not having a problem with any other website. I have the problem with both Safari and Google Chrome.

  • Mid 2010 mac book pro crashing too many times!!!

HELP! I'm basically fed up with my mac book pro crashing so many times in a day. I'm not doing anything tedious, just basic web surfing and music and some microsoft word/excel. I've read that someone recommended to run EtreCheck and paste the result here so anyone that knows how to read them can help me figure out what's happening!
    Problem description:
My Mac book pro have been crashing lately. I’ve max out my RAM to 8gb. And the frequency seems to increased to few times in a day. I’ve uninstalled a software that I suspect to be causing the problem but it didn’t help.

  • What are all the things needed (including perfect hard drive) to upgrade my Mid 2010 Mac Book Pro from Amazon?

    Hello,
I have a Mac Book Pro, Mid 2010, and I would like to upgrade my internal hard drive. Is there all the things I need to proform this operation from just using materials bought from Amazon. Can anyone provide me a list of tools and hard drives (500GB or more, internal, dont care if it is SSD or HD) I needed to proform this operation from just buying the things from Amazon (that uses amazon prime, for shipping)?
Also, can the Genius Bar at apple store proform this operation? Is it free? Do they provide the tools and I bring in the hard drive? And, can they sell the hard drives and use their own tools so I can just walk in the store and let them proform the upgrade (i doubt that option is free)? Thanks!

You have the Mid 2010 15-inch MacBook Pro and the GPU is damaged. If you have a look at the log, you will see "GPU Panic", which indicates a GPU problem, and all graphic extensions under "Kernel Extensions in Backtrace", the ones that crashed.
Mid 2010 15-inch MacBooks Pro have got a defective NVIDIA GPU which may cause unexpected restarts, black screens, kernel panics... See > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088
Apple is repairing all these MacBooks Pro for free if they were purchased less than 3 years ago, so make a backup of your files with Time Machine, and take it to an Apple Store or reseller. Print your log and show it to them if they refuse to repair the MacBook

  • Why am I having major graphical glitches when running windows 7 on my mid 2010 mac book pro

I installed windows 7 on my mid 2010 macbook pro 13". It does not seem like I can tie it to any specific update or driver update. Has any one else noticed this. I found switching to the basic theme has stop the start menu and bottom task bar from glitching out but I can't view anyhing on the web in either windows explorer or firefox. The funny thing is I can log in and play Eve Online with out any issues. It seems to only affect the window pains themselves and anything i try to view on the web.

Yes i did install it when i finished the windows installation. I am thinking something happened during a windows update

  • How can I get my 2010 mac book pro to send signal out through the mini display port?                      end signal out through the end video signal out through the

How can I get my 2010 macbook pro to send signal out through the mini display port?

First, what you said is contradictory. You say "can't get a video signal", then say"the Mac wallpaper is broadcast, the mouse pointer is visible". "No video signal" means an absolutely black, blank screen. It sounds like you have plenty of signal.
I am supposing what you are seeing is actually a blank desktop, which is to be expected if your settings are such that you are extending the desktop, instead of mirroring it.
Within the preference panes is a setting that allows you to change this. Open System Preferences, click Displays, and then click Arrangement. You will see that you are extending the desktop. Change that setting.

  • How do I connect my 2010 Mac Book Pro to two HDMI Monitors?

    Hi All,
I currently have a 2010 Mac Book Pro (Non Retina) which has only one MiniDisplay Port. I am trying to connect it to two HDMI Monitors. How do I do this? I originally was going to buy a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI Adapter and a HDMI Splitter, but won't that show the exact same thing on both displays? Thanks.

If you can connect each computer to the Internet at the same time without swapping cables, you have all the infrastructure in place for File Sharing.
    On your Mac,
System Preferences > Sharing > File Sharing can be used to "Share" [read: "make available to others"]
OS X Mountain Lion: Set up a Windows computer to share files with Mac users
If you decide to connect an external Hard drive:
The PC does not believe there are any other Operating Systems, so it cannot read Mac OS X files.
The Mac can read and write FAT and exFat, and can Read but not write NTFS.

  • I have a 2010 mac book pro and track pad is not working well, is there a problem with that year?

I have a 2010 mac book pro and track pad is not working well, is there a problem with that year. I heard that the 2011's had track pad trouble.

All recent versions of Mac OS X use bash, so avoiding Mavericks won't help you with that problem (which isn't a problem for most users).
iWeb is another matter. My advise: migrate your website to Wordpress first and start thinking about upgrades later.
