Welcome to Apple Support Communities
They are probably dead pixels or a signal of damaged GPU. If you can, connect an external display and see if the issue appears here.
In both cases, I suggest you to take it to an Apple Store or reseller. It doesn't look as a software issue, and your display or GPU have to be replaced

No idea, take it back to the store, preferably with a camera shot or a command shift 3 screenshot
    Good Luck.

I have a small icon at the top right of my iphone 4G right to the left of the battery percent. What is this and how do I get rid of it? It looks like a lock with a circle 3/4 of the way around it

That icon indicates your iPhone is rotation locked.
To remove it, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open Control Center.  Tap the similar looking icon there to turn it off.

A misleading and malicious popup. Launch Safari with the Shift key held down; if that doesn't work, temporarily disconnect the computer from the Internet.

Google changed their menu bar. Firefox hasn't used Google for the default homepage since the Firefox 3.6 versions. Firefox 4+ versions use '''about:home'''.<br />

  • I have 3.5 gigs of "other" what is it and how do i get rid of it?

On my itunes when my iphone is pluged in it says that i have now 3.9 gigs of "other" what is it and how do i get rid of it?

Other is data that does not fit into the rest of the catergories listed on the summary tab.  This includes user data and app settings/data.
3.5 GB is a lot... and typically indicates corruption.
You can try a reset of the device and re-syncing, sometime this will clear it up... but typically the resolution is to restore the device from backup first.  If that doesn't resolve a restore as new will.
Other should be in the range of 300-800mb.

  • Have 18g of other on 3gs after ios5 update. what is this and how do you get rid of it?

have 18g of other on 3gs after ios5 update. what is this and how do you get rid of it?

\Based on other forum users' posts, it seems like all you need to do is Restore the phone from your latest backup, and that should "refresh" your phone's appraisal of its data storage.

  • Why do I have a thin blue line running down the screen?

There is a thin blue line running vertically down my imac screen a little to the right of the centre. It disappeared for a while - i think after I tapped a certain key - but then re-appeared and will not go away. What is it? How do I get rid of it? Mark

Sounds like a problem with the display. Contact your local Apple Store or AASP and make an appointment to have the display looked at. > Apple - Support - iMac - Service FAQ

  • I suddenly have a large Sun shaped logo appeared on my screen. What is it, and how can I get rid of it please?

I suddenly have a large Sun shaped logo appeared on my screen.
Can anyone please tell me what this is, and how I get rid of it?
    Many thanks

    HI there
Thank you for trying to help me. You're going to think I'm really thick, but I can't seem to do a screen shot.
I pressed the command and the 3 button, plus what I believe is the shift key, Hat is the one on the left hand side, with an arrow on it, which you use for a capital letter yeah?
    But nothing happens.
Also I can't see what you are reffering to when you say click onto the camera icon? I can't see any such icon.
    Sorry to be so useless.
I have just noticed that it is obviously connected with the sound. It has a row of boxes undeneath the logo, and as you increase the volume, the boxes fill up from left to right, and the logo flutters at the same time.
have alogitec amplifier and speaker system connected to it, and have just noticed that the sun logo looks very similar to the Logitec symble/Logo.
Is that of any help please?

  • I have 5.43gb of storage on my iphone taken up by other, what is this and how can i get rid of it?

My iPhone is 16gb and i have no music, 500ish photos, and about 10 apps I had to delete everything off it because i couldn't take any photos because i had no space! How do i get rid of the storage other is taking up?

I would probably suggest backing up them photos to your computer and then performing a restore on the phone which will wipe everything off and start again.
Instructions for restore can be found here:

  • I have an unknown shared server in Finder. What is it and how can I get rid of it?

    Hi,
I just noticed there is a shared server/ network listed in Finder, but I do not recognise it and cannot connect to it.
Could anybody tell me what it is and how I can remove it?
    Thanks!
This is what it looks like:

If you have a networked printer, they sometimes have SD Card slots, USB thumbdrive slots, etc... and the printer offers to be a file server to share the contents of those removable camera storage devices.
It is possible your home WiFi router can also act as a printer server, or with a USB disk (or thumb drive) attached, a file server.
You could use a utility such as Bonjour Browser which will give you more information about the devices it sees on your home network

  • I have 30 gb of audio 14 gb video and 33gb of other what is other and how do i get rid if it.

i have 30GB of audio 14GB video and 33GB of other.... how do i get rid of the other?

The Other category of your iPod consists of such things as album artwork, the iPod's software, games, files you are storing external on the device, etc.  However, it's size you usually only a small fraction compared to the rest of your iPod's storage allocation (unless you are storing up large chunks of data on the iPod externally).
A large amount of other is usually a good indication of corrupt files on your iPod leftover from sailed sync operations with iTunes.  The only way to reduce it to a smaller number and address this issue, is to restore the iPod to factory settings in iTunes.

  • I have about 30GB of 'Other' data on my Hard Drive. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

Hi. My old MacAir seems to have about 30GB of data described as 'Other' in the About This Mac thing. Colored yellow. I've stripped out my iTunes library and most of my iPhoto library to make space as machine was getting full. By checking the size of the User files and the Apps file there shoule be a good 50GB free space. But tbere isn't. THere is this 'Other' stuff. Any clues what it is and where it is hiding? Thanlks, Peter

Thanks baltwo & Csound1. Your help is much appreciated.
Pondolini's 'The Storage Display' was a good lead.
For those who have similar troubles, purchasing the WhatSize application (US$13.00) was the best bit of advice I found. Pondolini again.
Turns out that the 30GB of 'Other' was primarily made up of files needed for applications and the System. So the big lump of free space I thought I had didn't exist.
Kind of frustrating that the Storage Display that comes up in System Information is not more articulate. It would be better to show that these 'Other' files are in fact essential parts of the Apllications and Systems.
    Thanks again. Peter
