I have an iPod 4 that had 8GB. Can I go to my closet apple store to upgrade it to more GB?

I would like to upgrade my Ipod 4th gen with 8GB to an Ipod 4th or 5th gen 16GB.
can I upgrade it or do I have to buy a brand new Ipod?

You cannot upgrade the storage space in an iDevice. You will have to buy a new model and sell yours.
