You did import these important photos over to an alternative storage medium, just like you would with any digital camera, right?

  • How long does it take for the IOS 7.1 to finish updating? My phone has been plugged in to my computer for more than one hour and the status bar only shows about less than 1/4 completed. I have an iphone 5s btw.

Depends on how strong your wifi connection is.
you can try a reset hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.

I am having this problem.  At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2.  I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps.  I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them.  The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage.  It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup.  With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up.  The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete.  This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems.

Generally when you get the resource in use error logging out or rebooting will take care of it. When a file just absolutely refuses to delete try restarting in Safe Mode (hold the left shift key after the computer restarts) and then empty the trash.

How do you delete old music that it don't want anymore for the iOS 7 update. It gave me all the music I deleted in the past. I tried going to settings and turning off music from the past and it got rid of my music I recently purchased.

    Hello there, Syd_ma22.
The answer to how to delete a song on your phone in iOS7 is found on page 62 of the iPhone User's Manual:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
    Specifically:
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • Ive been backing up my iPhone for a year and the backup is gone!

    Hi
For the last year I've been backing up my iPhone 4G on a monthly basis either connected by the cable or wifi. It always said backup complete so I never thought to worry.
However, I recently broke my iPhone and I now have a new one. I'm trying to restore from last back up but the dates of the last back up's are all from Aug 2011!
I've looked throughout my computer HD for hidden folders but I cant seem to find where the last years backups have been saving.
I always keep my iPhone and MacBook up to date with software etc so I cant understand how this has happened.
Please someone help! I've got a whole years work and client contacts in there. It just seems so bizzare! HELP!

It backs up whenever you plug it in/sync it.
Note that there is only one backup unless you Restore from backup. Then it will create a new backup.
What backups do you see in iTunes prefs > Devices?

I have been using find my iPhone on my iPhone 4s for the past year.  I will look at it occasionally to keep track of my 12 year old.  All of a sudden I have to log in every time I click on the app.  I have always remained logged in in the past.. I upgraded to IOS 8 today thinking that might fix it.  It has not.

And maybe you don't talk to too many people but I've been on many forums on different websites where people have had similar problems and a lot of people in the store were having battery problems where they were draining too fast. What I learned is that all the people who did not download the updates are good. There phone is working the same. The people who have, they're having battery problems
I have downloaded every update and my battery life is better than any previous iPhone I have ever owned. I see posts from hundreds of people every day, and this is not a commonly reported problem. While there are a few random reports of battery problems, it is no more than I have seen for any other model or any other version of iOS in almost 8 years. Usually problems of rapid battery drain can be traced to bad apps (FaceBook is the worst offender) or corrupt data being synced from iCloud or other sources (gmail, Windows Live, Yahoo, etc).
The simple test is to restore the phone as New. Do not create any email accounts. Do not install any apps. Do not enable FaceTime or iMessage. Do not enable Twitter or any other social networking app. Use it for a day and check the battery usage. You will find that it is working well.
And also see this: http://www.overthought.org/blog/2014/the-ultimate-guide-to-solving-ios-battery-d rain. It is the best treatise I have seen on the subject of battery usage.

  • HT4528 I have no battery life in my iphone 5 since the iOS 7 upgrade.  I have completed all suggestions to help increase the battery power and now I can't use my phone more than 4 hours without the battery dying. What is the solution?

I have no batter in my iphone 5 since upgrading to ios7.  I have talked with verizon techinical support and completed all suggestions to maintain the battery. And by the way, these suggestions are annoying and limit phone use as well as require you to close out each application after use, also turning off wi-fi and blue tooth. I don't need this phone if I can't use the features for which it was purchased! Any ideas?  Is there a fix coming soon for the battery? Can I return my iphone for my old droid?
    Help!

Hi! I don't what's happened for your phone but, you can have more battery life with turning of Wifi, decries brightness, turn off location service and etc. also you shold use less Free+Much Ads apps becuase they use more battery than paid apps normaly.
for more informations about battery normal life see here.
I guess it's not a normal issue. so connect to Apple Care or wait for a better answer...

  • I have been having 2 MAJOR issues for the last few months:

I have been having MAJOR issues for the last few months:
1.) My iTunes keeps shutting down on me, after 5-10 minutes of being opened and starting updates, or if I play music. I restart iTunes and it just does it over and over again.
2.) I have homesahring ON on both my desktop PC and my AppleTV 2nd gen, but my AppleTV cannot access the computer. I have restarted and reset both PC and AppleTV over and over, but still no luck.
    Any suggestions?

Only that you may wish to resolve issue 1 before looking at #2. The best forum for that would be the iTunes for windows community.

  • I just got this damaged ipod and have been trying to install it for the last 4 hrs! the person i got it from made no mention of a code and i can't install it to get in it! getting crabby!  :(

i downloaded itunes, tried resetting it but that's not workin for me either! please help if you can!  gettin' crabbier by the minute!
my computer claims that it cannot install the device(doesn't recognize it). please help!

Are yo getting any error message?
Without knowing that all I can suggest is:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
