I have both an ipod touch and an ipad, what are some cool feauture/apps that I should use? Can I use my ipod touch to control my ipad playing itunes?

I just got the new ipod touch and I have an iPad 2, I am just look for some opinions and recommendations as to what apps, or cool features I can use between the two. Thanks.

Your problem is that everyone seems to be using the same iTunes store account (ID). That's fine when a family wants to share purchased items, but that's the rub - everyone is tapping into the same account, so they can download whatever is available.
As for icloud accounts, icloud is designed for single user use. If multiple users share the same icloud account then all their devices will be synced together - same emails, same contacts and calendars, same notes, etc. There is no privacy or division of data in this scenario. The usual advice is for everyone to have their own ID for icloud, and share the family ID for iTunes store.

I even tried some hints posted for ios6 (turn off Ipad, holding home button and plugging in power cord at the same time and then releasing the home button)
I did manage to get a different screen that shows the itunes icon and a power cord, but nothing happens.

You were on the right track. You got the connect to iTunes screen and you ended to use iTujes to restore your iPad. Try recovery mode again.
Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore iPad.

You can use Bonjour to setup a file-exchange network easily and efficiently.
You can use iChat to create a video conference on your home network.
If you are into power processing, I personally have set up a miniature render farm with 3 machines all processing 3d scenes to make my own 3d movies and special effects.
You can share music through iTunes music sharing, and listen to each others music, video, and whatever-else libraries.
And thats all I can think of as of now. Hope that helps!

Create a NEW account/ID using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Why are some of my apps that are supposed to come already installed on my Mac (like IMessage and IBooks) missing?

I have a new Mac. I've had it for about 3 or 4 weeks but when I got it, some of the firmware (apps that come already installed) are missing. Some of these include: IMessage, IBooks, Keynote, Numbers, Pages, IMovie, IPhoto and Quicktime. They are all missing. My Mom recently got the same Mac as me (same year, model etc) and she has all of these apps on her Mac. But I don't... HELP ME ?! I really miss IMessage especially.

Did you try to deselect all apps, sync to remove them all.
If you where able to remove all of them, sync them back.
Resetting the sync history in iSync may also be helpful.

On your mac/Win PC can you log into the iTunes Store with your Apple ID and password??
Can you download one of the free songs/books/ videos (look under Free on iTunes)?

I thought I had a problem with my Ipad in which I didnt, so I backed up my Ipad and restored it, but now Some of my apps that I have purchased are not available only the free version, not the purchased version. I would have to purchase again and it is not backed up into my Icloud either ?

I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.

I have the same issue witha slight variation. The app icons that are grayed out and cannot be deleted are DUPLICATES of other apps that I already have. For instance I now have 2 Redbox apps - one works normally, the other cannot be opened or deleted.
