I have brought an Apple iphone 4 from Apple store Arndale house for use any network, but this phone is locked with vodafone. Please suggest, how to unlock this phone to use all other network in other country?

i had brought a APPLE IPHONE4 from APPLE STORE, MANCHESTER ARNDALE. new cannon street mall.
when i was visiting for purchasing this device the sales team told me that the phone is unlocked and can use all around the world with any other network when i'm trying to use it other network it showed that NO SERVICE(at network issue) and then i made a call 2 apple customer support so the executive told me that this device has been locked with VODAFONE UK network. this was the FAKE commitment of sales team also its a CHEATING i must say that.
i'm very much disapointed and dissatiesfied with the APPLE STORE sales team...

I had read that thanks but many happy owners of locked iPhones
claim to have bought from an Apple store they do not actually mean
Apple Retail
Arndale Centre is one of the largest Malls in Europe and every vendor of iPhones is there
Apple retail in UK ONLY sell unlocked iPhones unless you opt for a contract at a reduced price
not something you can do accidently as in sim free in US

How do you update it? You say you went to Apple and they opened the phone and re-seated the connectors? That sounds unusual, because if there was a hardware issue,they would replace the hardware. You say you cannot get a replacement, is that because you are out of warranty? An out of warranty replacement is only $199 plus tax. It seems to me since you mention the fact you need to press hard to get the screen to react there is something going on with the hardware. If this problem has been going on for over a year, have you been reporting this to Apple. You say you cannot get a replacement and you are on the second phone, I wonder why they are denying you a replacement. Is there something you are not telling us??

Thanks for your prompt response, however I have first seen it now. I have placed an active SIM card in the iPhone turned it off and on. It now says SIM locked, please write access code. The problem is I don't remember the password. When I connect it to iTunes it tell me that I have to write the password before it can be used with iTunes...... Do you have any good ideas? My Ipad 2 no longer displays anything.It may come on for a few seconds,but then half of the screen goes completely black, and the system becomes non responsive to all bottons. At other times all four sides of the display becomes black, about 1/4 inch.

Can anyone help me on this one? I got my IPAD 2 in June 2011. It never gave problems until a few days ago. It began to "hang", becoming non-responsive to all buttons. Then just yesterday morning, it went totally black. The display no longer displays. The Battery was charged 96%. I tried the power adapter, but had the same result. I tried the resetting, holding the two buttons for 10 seconds or more but no result. I have already restored it to the factory setting,(via my PC) and put back my apps etc. But after all this I still cannot see anything on the screen.
I know it is still working, because from time to timer I hear the message alerts, and other sounds.
Waht is the likely solution?

Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

We have 3 iPads 3 iPhones 3 Apple id's. We want to use 1 calendar we can all access on each device and have each device update or sync and we all receive notifications from the one calendar. We do not want to share photos contacts, ect. Please help

If I understand correctly you want all 6 devices to have access to a single calendar that each device gets notifications for and can edit. You can do that with an private iCloud shared calendar. First sign into www.icloud.com and use these steps from the following article to share a calendar:
iCloud: Share a calendar with others
Share a calendar privately
Click the Share button to the right of the calendar name in the sidebar, then select Private Calendar.
Note: You can also share the same calendar publicly. For instructions, see the next task, “Share a calendar publicly.”
Type the invitee’s email address in the Add Person field and press Return.
Click the pop-up menu with the invitee’s name and choose access privileges (View & Edit or View Only).
For each person you want to share the calendar with, repeat steps 2 and 3.
When you’ve invited everyone and set their privileges, click OK.
Invitation emails are sent from your iCloud email address to the participants you specified.

Like ckuan said, Apple does not unlock iPhone; your carrier does, provided that the carrier offers this service.
Unfortunately, SoftBank does not offer authorized unlocking of iPhone.
Your best option is to sell this phone and buy another iPhone from the carrier of your choice or better buy a factory unlocked iPhone so you would be able to use it with any compatible GSM carrier around the world.

Of course it changed. A phone's IMEI number is unique to each phone. The IMEI number for a phone does not transfer to another phone.
Since your iPhone was exchanged under warranty without having the box and bill for the original purchase, you don't need it now either. The exchange under warranty remains under the warranty for the original purchase.

Welcome to the Support Communities!
I would suggest you transfer your iTunes purchases from the iPhone to the computer first.
Then in your iTunes library on the computer, find and remove the duplicates.
Then resync to your Nike.

If you do not have a US billing and shipping address, you can NOT purchase an iPhone from the US Apple web site, if that's what you're asking.
If you are physically in the US, you need to know that #1. Unlocked iPhone 4S will not be available for purchase until some time in November. #2. The warranty is NOT international. If it breaks, you will not be able to get it serviced anywhere but in the US.
As for taxes, you will have to pay sales tax in the US. As far as any duties on the phone are concerned when you take it home, you'll have to inquire of your government for the answer to that.
