I have downloaded books in ibooks but for some reason when i go in there it says downloaded but i can no longer open the book on my 5C why is that?

I have downloaded books in ibooks but for some reason it says downloaded i cannot see the book anymore...??? How did that happen? The only thing i did do was download a free cook book that shows as a pdf....

My first thoughts are
• iMovie ill behaving - Trash the iMovie pref file - use to set things right
• in reg. to Photos - Did You change iPhoto Photo Library - Then iMovie get's lost as it peeks into iPhoto on start up to see where photos are stored. Set iPhoto back to first Photo Library (when iMovie is not running) then start iMovie.

First I'd recommend following the instructions in this Update Process link. Next download (or redownload if you have already) the 10.6.8 Combo Update. You can find it at:

Confirm the following before trying to sync the ringtone to your phone:
That it is really a ringtone: right-click on the file in iTunes, select Get Info, on the Summary tab it must say Kind: Ringtone
That the ringtone is 40 seconds or less in length
That you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos" on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings
That you have a checked the box next each of the ringtones you want to sync to your phone
That you checked "Sync Tones" on the Tones tab of your iTunes sync settings

You are getting the 3194 error because you cannot update to 6.1.2, since it is no longer current.
The fact that you downloaded the 6.1.2 file does not matter. If you upgrade, you must upgrade to the latest version.
I cannot imagine why you would not want to update to the current 6.1.3 version instead of 6.1.2.

HT4059 I have internet, and it works for everything, but for some reason my ibooks isn't loading my searches.

I am trying to buy some books on my Ibooks, but For some reason it won't work! It will say it's loading my search, and never give me results. It will, however, load if i press the "buy" on a sample i previously downloaded. Why is this, and how can i fix my search bar? i've tried to power off then power on again, and nothing is working.

This is the error message I get saying the internet is not on, but clearly as I can send this message it has to be:
To open “Java Preferences,” you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet.
I am connected through Wi-fi if that makes a difference.

Make sure your Mac qualifies to run Mountain Lion > Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.
Try disabling anti virus software and turn off the Firewall in System Preferencs > Security & Privacy
Apps such as Little Snitch and Net Nanny can prevent apps from downloading from the App store including Mountain Lion.
Third party download managers are not compatible with the App Store.
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

I would say to start by looking on their web site... unfortunately, that appears to be dead.
Based on the horrible ratings on the App Store (1 star for the current version), I'm not surprised it doesn't work well.
