To view it in an acceptable format, yes. You can try using an opensource program such as OpenOffice or LibreOffice and see if it yields better results. However, I'm sure if it would be compatible with a document made with word processing software from 9 years ago, but I would certainly give it a try.

I have recently transferred data from my old Mac to my new one. The result was good, but I have 2 users now, whose data I want to merge into 1 single user, so to avoid having to switch from one user to the other to view and use certain files. How to do it?
Here's an easy way:
Pick the user that you want to eliminate (making sure that the remaining user has administrator privileges) and move all of the data that you want to keep into the Shared folder. Reboot or log out and login to the user you want to keep. Copy all the data from the Shared folder into your account - placing it neatly in folders (Documents, Music, Movies, etc.).
Once the data is moved, log into the account you want to delete just once more to make certain that you've grabbed all the data you want to keep. Log out and log back into your admin account and go to System Preferences>Users & Groups and delete the 'old' user.
That should do it.

i have got an 4s phone and want to import my notes from my old 3G phone; does anybody has an idea how this can be done?
If you have a Mac, I know you can sync your notes with the Mail application using iTunes by going to the Info tab when you clikc on your iPhone under Devices. Other than that, you may just need to email the notes to yourself since the 3G cannot use iCloud to transfer them.

Adobe programs don't do well with migration. You should uninstall them, run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3), and reinstall from the original installers, but you also need to be aware that many older programs are not supported on newer versions of OSX so this may not go smoothly.

I have recently transferred data from my old PC to my new Mac Book Pro (Mavericks OS). Each transfer creates a new User account (titled 'Owner', 'Owner 1', etc). I want to merge / consolidate the files from these newly created User accounts into my main user account. Is there a tutorial for this process, or any tips? Anyone?
Four transfers. After the initial attempt with Migration Assistant failed (after hours and hours of wifi transfer) I did "mini-transfers" of more manageable, smaller bits of files -- my music in one, photos in another, etc. Since posting my question in this forum, i contacted Apple support, chatted with Angela, and she suggested getting an ethernet-USB adapter for my mac, connecting my external drive with ethernet and transferring files manually -- that is, NOT using the Migration Assistant at all. Hi All, I have new iphone 4s and want to import my contacts from my old Orange SIM (the contacts have all been copied to SIM). I enter the SIM and select "Import from SIM" in the settings --> Calendar, Contacts etc it looks like Ok but nothing copied,I tried hundreds of time and waited 2 day but still nothing and I again made sure that I do have the Contacts in the Microsim and it is there but cant import? dunno why???

I installed Word for Mac previously. I can not figure out how to download the content of the flash drive into the Mac. Probably very simple but obviously I am a new user. Any suggestions?

Hi, ok so at my old job i got given a laptop and i synced my iPhone to that laptop using iCloud, now i have left that job and i have bought my own macbook. HELP!!If they are photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll, then delete them from photo stream. That will delete them from photo stream in iCloud and on any other devices/computers. Of couse it won't delete them if they have already been moved out of the photo stream album download folder on the work computer.

Place the drive in an external enclosure.

My boyfriend and I both have the iPhone 4. We rely on FaceTime to video chat with each other as he lives in another city from myself and our daughter. We used FaceTime almost on a daily basis over WiFi prior to updating to iOS 6. Since updating to iO
