Office 2004 Applications Won't Work in Lion
You must have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite and will not work in Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.

HT5642 Upgraded this morning. All worked fine for about 30min then "no service". Still the same problem and a reset of the device only fixes the problem for 15min. then we are back to no service?? When will apple fix this???

Tried to reset network settings ...only fixes it for 15min. Did a firmware restore and a clean new phone setup. no settings restore. still have network service after around 60min. still running 6.1. i do get a prompt that i have to update settings to LTE. Have not excepted the settings as yet. Cellular data is still set to 3G....

In mountain lion, my avchd folders are QuickTime files. Why and when will Apple fix this?

I recently noticed that in mountain lion, when I insert the such card from my camera, the avchd folders that used to exist in previous operating systems are now QuickTime files. If I wish to see what I could see in previous operating systems by simply selecting the folder, I now have to bring up the context menu and choose to show package contents. This should not be this way and it really gets old fast when you need to go down several levels.
Is Apple aware of this? Did Apple do this ridiculous thing on purpose? Will Apple fix this?

You still haven't provided any useful information, the machine has a 1 year warranty and if it's less than 1 year old you can still buy AppleCare. If it is over 1 year old then you have missed your opportunity and will have to pay for any repairs. Known issues may only be known to you and a few others, it may not be wide spread at all. When posting you have to be very specific, we have no idea what you are thinking and cannot see or touch your machine so you have to be much more descriptive.

So my lock/power/sleep button has decided to break. I cannot get it to work no matter how hard I press on the button.
It has NOT been dropped, exposed to water or humdity of any kind.
My question is, will Apple fix this for me or replace my iPhone 4? I have scheduled an appointment at the closest store for Monday as it was the earliest I could be seen and I am still under warranty.

My ipod touch just slid off the sofa (less than two feet) and fell on its face. The screen is now cracked but the ipod is still functional. Will Apple repair the screen and if so how much would it cost? I think I was told in store that I could get 10% off a new one, but does this include the new 5g model?

It seems to me that from reading all the discussions and posts of different people who have the phone already, the main and consistent problem the the ios4 is the reception due to the antenna and design of the phone. There are other problems people are having with the phone, however, not everybody is having those problems. Some people aren't having problems at all, with the exception of signal reception.
My question is what would apple do to fix this? Besides purchasing a bumper, is there any other solution, besides move a little this way or that to improve signal and keep ya hand off certain places on the phone? Or will Apple just let it ride because they know people will still continue to buy it? Thoughts??

And THIS is exactly why Steve can get away with such an outrageous statement. What other manufacturer would have the big brass ones to even HINT that a phone that drops calls when handled is somehow the fault of the consumer? And yet this company will continue to bask in the glow of this phone that “changes everything, again”. Who would have thought we would be going beyond the days of the hand-held cell phone? Perhaps this is similar to how we’re moving beyond the days of the pc (daily pc worldwide sales and current 20% growth figures notwithstanding)….
The bottom line is shame on us as early adopters. Any of us with experience owning Apple portable devices have no grounds for complaint- this isn’t the first time we’ve been given such a lesson in paternalism by the lord of form-over-function (nothing new, btw, see Apple III). As long as we continue to drink the kool-aid why expect anything to change?

When will Apple Fix this 3.1 problem???

I've got all the same issues with the 3.1 as most do, "failed" calls, battery life, etc. Phone was just fine before 3.1 update... This is just terrible, as I make a living with the phone...I've called apple and went through all the fixes that didn't work... What now?

While talking on the phone, the conversation dies for a period of a couple seconds every 45 seconds or so despite having full bars... The frequency of that type of blackout increases until finally the call "fails" after about 15 minutes. After the first fail, it will fail more frequently following that until I restart the phone... Always with full bars and in areas I've never had that happen. Happens on 8 of 10 phone calls or so. Prior to 3.1 update, I believe I've only had 1 failed call since feb 09 when I got the phone... may be two... I've had dozens and dozens since update last thursday.
Battery life must be 50% of what it used to be a week ago. Talk time in particular has gone down the drain:(
Voicemail box no longer works right. I delete on the iphone, but it won't delete in the "real" mail box, so my mail box is filling up despite visual VM being empty.

I called apple twice. Per apple recommendation, I did a "restore" function on the phone through itunes (from an Imac). Have also synced several times since. Problems not resolved. Reboot phone multiple times. Another "restore" through itunes per apple tech. Call ATT, they had me reset network settings and changed a couple things. They looked for a tethering patch under profile that they said caused a lot of problems with 3.1. I didn't have that patch so there was nothing to remove... After ATT changes, problems still present...
I'm open to ideas and I'm certainly no pro with the iphone... Wish I could get 3.0 back that's for sure...

You'd have to pay even if you had AppleCare, as such damage is not covered by warranty or AppleCare.

UPDATE to iTunes fail - Should I just get rid of my ipod or will apple fix this?

Can someone tell me why iTunes will not display all of the audiobooks that are in my library?
The files are in the library, but I could not access them.
I found a temporary fix, BUT that fix does not give me confidence that iTunes has not killed some of my files so that I have to re-download or re-purchase them.
I reload my entire library after this update so that I could see the files I wanted to use.
The result of the reload is that I now have THREE libraries where I had ONE before.
Now I have to go back manually and check to make sure that ALL of my files are accessible though iTunes and remember which library has what artists or books.
So, short of manually listing my files and checking them one by one in iTunes, I can't add a library that is located in one folder without having THREE libraries show up on iTunes.
I thought that the point of iTunes was to keep your files in one easily accessible place.

I'd suggest you keep some sort of wired usb keyboard handy -- other than your Apple Alu model. The _startup modifier_ keys on the Apple Aluminum keyboard are widely reported not to work with the Mini, but just about any other usb keyboard will work.
Apple has had plenty of time to issue a fix (if this were possible) -- and since they haven't come up with a fix, it seems likely that there is no fix possible.

Highly unlikely unless the machine is under an exchange/repair program for the issue or your machine is under a year old. Though sometimes Genius bars have been lenient. Before pursuing that course, what is your Machine ID (i.e. MacBook 4,1) as it appears in your System Profiler in Apple menu -> About this Mac -> More info. This might tell us if you simply have gotten the wrong cable or TV to get the resolutions you desire.
