I have purchased apple tv and it wont accept my gmail ID, am I missing something?
I have tried several times to set up my apple tv, but I cant't get passed the Apple ID, maybe I'm using a wrong gmail address but thats my Apple ID, any help would be appreciated.
my AppleID is a Yahoo! email address and works fine... I'd log in and out of it on iTunes to make sure you are entering the right Apple ID...

Upgrade to Leopard. Better yet, Snow Leopard if your Mac is an Intel model (you don't say much about the computer which makes this hard to make suggestions).

Why can't there be application to access our own hard disc?I am trying to do this as well.
From all the forums and websites and blogs I've sifted through it seems it isn't possible at this stage.
A not so functional option is to access your media through the "SeagateMedia" app on iOS and then using airplay - switch the video/song/whatever over to Apple TV.
Problem is - it seems to only be able to play compatible file types ie won't play a ripped .AVI. So this method is flawed.
Keep us updated if you find anything out!

i just bought an apple tv and it wont stream music from my imac. when i click on the apple tv music icon it accesses the itunes store and brings up only that music i have purchased from apple instead of all the music i have stored in itunes on my imac.
The music icon will only access your purchased music. You need to go to the computer icon. It must be on and running iTunes, and home-sharing enabled in order for it to be accessible to Apple TV

I have just purchased Apple TV and an ipad, i have uploaded my itunes to icloud from my pc and activated sharing, i now have all my tunes on the ipad and pc and all have a little cloud with a red arrow next to them so all seems well, but when i go on Apple TV, and i'm all signed in and all boxes checked, i click on music, my music, and all files are empty, should i not see my itunes and be able to play them from my apple TV, or have i misunderstood what the cloud is for.?

You can't play music from the computer if there is none there. If you are using iTunes Match you should now be able to download and play all your music on the Apple TV from the music feature on the main page. -
I have two apple ID, and I can't switch between them, although I change to my old ID, and it remains in the new ID, and I can't update to old purchases I did with the old id.
I already did according to your suggestion (sign in and sign out) and the id remain on the new one.

We have just purchased Apple TV and can't connect to Home Sharing. We have wifi, the iPad is updated. I can't find the link on ITunes on the iPad that the tv is telling me to click. I've also tried turning it on via settings then music which seems to be connected. I can view YouTube clicks on the tv, but not an app so I can watch the footy. What am I doing wrong.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
ThanksMake sure your Apple TV is on the same network as your iPad. The SSID and password of router must be set in your Apple TV.

How can I watch a Disney movie from the Disney website I have purchased movie cd and I can go to the website on by gateway computer but can't get it to play on my iPad it wants me to download flash but apple doesn't support flash or I can down loadQuickTime but don't know how. Says to email website did that but takes me back to same place to email help
Contact iTunes Customer Support, but honestly, there are no returns for iTunes purchases.

I have purchased a song and my computer says it is unauthorized to play it. I give authorization and it says its already authorized. Then I try to play the song and it wont allow authorization.
Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.

I just purchased Apple TV AND AIRPORT EXPRESS. I am questioning if I need it when I already have a Netgear Powerline AV 200 Adapter Kit XAVB2001. Does the Airport Express do the same thing?

It sounds as if you purchased the app, but you also purchased some subscription within the app. You say "Apple is charging monthly", but it's probably the app writer that is charging you monthly for some subscription you purchased within the app. Contact the app vendor and tell them you want to stop the subscription.

You may wish to try the following:
Press and hold the menu and the up button simultaneously on the remote for six seconds, the Apple TV should then begin to cycle through the various resolutions available to it at 20 second intervals.. If you see a picture appear up on your screen, use the remote to scroll down to the OK option and select it.
