I have the iPhone 4S and my daughter has the iPad 2.  We share my Apple ID.  Is there any way to stop her text messages from appearing on my phone, and vice versa?  She doesn't need to be reading my texts!

no, there currently is no way of doing this. You can only create a second Apple ID.

  • How do I stop my text messages from appearing on my sons iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4 and my so has an iPhone 5. My other son has an iPod touch. Text messages are showing up on our devices when we weren't texting each other. I don't want to see my sons messages and vice versa. I turned off the cloud and it doesn't help.

I would guess you are probably sharing an apple ID account with your sons and it is using the imessage feature to send to all devices using that account. This article explains it, but you can shut it off from settings > messages.

  • Is there any way to print text messages from an iPhone 3gs?

Is there any way to print text messages from an iPhone 3GS?

The only ways to print any text messages from any of the iOS devices is to either do a print screen and then print those photos, or you could look for a program called TouchCopy that will allow you to download the SMS to the computer and you can handle them from there.

  • HT204053 My wife and I have an iphone each using one apple id. How do we stop items being deleted from one phone and then find it has been deleted from the other?

My wife and I have an iphone each using one apple id. How do we stop phone contacts being deleted from one phone and then find it has been deleted from the other?
Also this works when one of us downloads an app it appears on the other iphone

You need to use separate iCloud accounts. This will mean that you can both have your own separate contracts and calendars and put an end to them being deleted by each other.
Whether or not you have a separate iTunes account, is up to you. If you have a separate iTunes accounts you will not be able to access the music, books, apps that have been purchased by the other. This may be exactly what you want, but it also means that you both may end up purchasing the same item.

  • HT3529 My wife and I both have an iphone.   We initially created it under her apple id.   We will receive each others text messages from certain people not all.   Any ideas why and what we can do to stop it

My wife and I both have an iphone.  We initially set them up under one apple id account.  When we text sometimes we will receive each others text messages from others.   Example I will text a friend...she will not see my text but the reply comes to both of us.  It seems to be random which ones.  Any ideas how to correct this

    Yup, get your own AppleID.
The messages that are being sent to both phones are technically not text, they are Apple's iMessage. They use the data part, not the texting part. So if you have an iPad or a Mac computer, you can send/receive the iMessages there too.

  • Is there any way to delete text messages from the external screen of an LG EnV3?

The internal screen of my phone doesn't work, so I've been texting from the external key pad. But my inbox has gotten full and I can't receive texts anymore. Is there any way to delete texts using only the external screen of the EnV3?

It was awhile ago and I'm not totally sure, but I think this was discussed and the conclusion was that you can't delete texts using the external screen of the Env3. **Edit  (Found one thread: http://community.vzw.com/t5/Messaging-Text-Picture-IM-etc/No-option-to-delete-text-messages-from-front-of-LG-enV3/m-p/43042#M1684 )  It came up in one other thread that I could find and the solution was to use the internal, and similar steps were given - the only difference was using the OK for Menu and #2 for Messages, rather than the left soft key for Messages.  vWhatever works...
What you CAN do, is open the flip, left soft key (which is the Messages menu), and there are several options - these are the text messaging ones -
    1. New Message
    2. Inbox (#)
    3. Sent (#)
    4 Drafts (#)
Press the right soft key (options) and your choices are:
    1.Erase Inbox
    2.Erase Sent
    3.Erase Drafts
    4.Erase All
If you choose Erase All, then OK - it will erase all except unread messages, and locked messages. If you choose any of the numbers, then hit OK, it will erase ALL in that category, read or not, so I would choose Option 4 to erase all but the unread.
HTH, and post back if you have further questions...

  • Is there a way to read text messages from the past in a thread that has been ongoing for months?

Is there a way to view/recover messages from months ago in a thread that has been ongoing? The messages are not deleted. If i just keep "loading new messages" a) it will take all day, I've tried, and b) it freezes on me.

Try the computer apps PhoneView (Mac) or TouchCopy (Mac & PC):
    http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
    http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php
Both will allow you to archive your text messages to your computer and read them easily.

  • How do I stop my text messages from my iPhone from going to my iPad. I am being charged twice from my phone company?

My iPhone receives text messages and they go to my iPad and since I pay for each text message. I want to be able to stop this from happening,  how do I do this?????

If you are sending iMessages (blue bubbles in the Messages App), and use the same Apple ID on both the iPhone and the iPad messages will get sent to both devices. Its an iMessage feature to sync messages across devices.
iMessages are not SMS, and as such do not use your text messaging allowance.
    https://www.apple.com/ios/messages/
Whether you use a phone number or an email if you are registered with iMessage and the person you are messaging is also, your messages will get sent through iMessage rather than SMS. Your iPad is able to receive iMessages, and you'll have the conversation on both devices.  This is a good feature to have if you start the conversation on your Phone but later decide its easier to do it on your iPad or Mac.
iMessages only work between Apple devices.

  • Is there anyway to forward a phone message from an iPhone?

Is there any way to forward a message on my iPhone to another iPhone?

In your subject you say "phone message", do you mean a voice mail message?  If that is the case, there is no way to do it from within the iPhone.  There is third party software out there you can download and "extract" voicemail messages, and then forward them.  Try searching the forums for "extract voicemail".

  • After installing ios 6 to my iphone4 and my daughters iphone4s we now get each others text messages. How can we disconnect from each other so that I don't receive the text messages from her and her friends and she does not receive mine?

After installing IOS6 on my iphone 4 and my daughters iphone 4s we have this wonderful connection that we would like to break.  We are now seeing/receiving each others text messages.  I love my daughter but I don't really want to get all of her text messages from her friends and I don't really want to read every response she sends.  Additionally, she can also see my text messages and there are times I really don't need for her to know everything that I am doing.
So It is time to cut the cord we need our own seperate texting.  I am not sure what we did to have this happen but how do we undo it?

Get your Apple ID sort out.
Only use the same Apple ID in Settings > iTunes & App Stores to share purchases, no where else.

  • I got text messages from iCloudreport regarding my lost iphone , are they scams?

I lost my iphone two month ago and I got a lot of emails from "Find my iphone" saying that my phone has been found in at least three other different countries. Today I received a text message from a unknown phone number saying that: "Find my iphone service: your iphone 6 64Gb Gray lost/stolen has been found. You can reclaim it now at: https://icloudreport.com/?imk=3544070.....(8 more numbers)...., Apple Inc. " I clicked the link, it led me to this address"http://icloudreport.com" it looks the same as icloud home page. I feel this is suspicious because I really did not put any hope on my lost iphone been found. Is this a scam?
I then rechecked the emails that I received in the past and I found that some early emails I received are from "[email protected]". The link in this email direct me to "losticloud.com"  while the most recent emails are from "[email protected]" and the link in this email direct me to "icloudreport.com" (which is the same as that in the text message). Is any of the email I got is scam? I remembered I did login through the emails so I'm a little worried.

It's all fake. If you had set up 'Find My iPhone' you could find the phone yourself, provided it's on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network. If you didn't set it up you can't locate the phone and neither can anyone else. The emails are phishing, trying to con you into giving away your login.

  • One contact (so far) cannot send or receive text messages from my iPhone. Can someone help?

How can I fix the problem that one contact -- so far -- cannot send me or receive text messages from me on my iphone 4s (ios 6.1.3)?

Thank you ChrisJ4203. I checked to be sure SMS was turned on.  I found advice to restart phone and to delete history.  I restarted the phone and deleted all previous messages from that contact. He then received my last three messages, I got his reply, and we seem up and running. Thanks again for your suggestions.

  • Extract text messages from my Iphone 5

Is there a way to extract text messages from my Iphone 5 so I can save them and print them if necessary?

You can capture a screen shot of the text message on your iPhone.  Simply view it, and briefly hold the on/off and home buttons together until you hear a shutter clicking sound.
The photo will appear in Camera Roll, and you can then save it as you would a photo.
