I can't save previous word files I have into iWork's, I have dropped the file into pages, but it says it can't convert text, even though I have changed a selective fond from pages! Help!
Take us through this in more detail.
What is the Word file? From a PC?
What version of Word and what is the file extension?
What is it about the text that is different?
When you say fond do you mean font/typeface? If so what font, and is it on your Mac? Is there something special/different about this font?

I am going to Chile and want to charge my iPad while I am there. I bought a dual wattage converter (changes 220V to 110V), but it says to not use with computers. Would this include my iPad?
Somewhat much later query but I do have a related one. I've purchased my iPad 2 in India in October past. Using an adaptor for Canada I seem to have no problems charging it. Now I'm travelling to Chile and I see there is a 'similarity' in the two prongs on the electrical cord which came with the iPad (India) AND a similar pair of dual prongs used in Chile. I note Chile also uses a 3 - prong (horizontal) outlet. Query - Should I have any concern re the different currents used ; Canada 120V - 60 Hz versus Chile 220 - 50 Hz, or as noted earlier the iPad takes care of that with its built in converter. Did you check to see if your credit card has expired or has been frozen? My dad bought some hardware from Canada and it froze his card because it was an out of the country purchase. He called the bank and they turned it back on.

I have just set up itunes match on my new imac. It is saying I can access all my 9000 songs but only the playlist tab is live - I can't access albums or songs. Am I missing something?

I do not understand your problem. iTunes Match does not change the way iTunes looks. When match process is complete, the match screen tells you how much music you have in the cloud.
Across the top of screen you have options to select songs, albums, artist, composers etc.
Suggest that from main menu, select view>show sidebar.

I have logged in to my itunes account on a different computer and none of my purchased music is showing up. I also have plugged my iphone in to get updates but it says I will lose all media and apps if I don't update on the computer where I sync everything. I have authorized this new computer so I don't know what the problem is. I can't get on my old computer with my itunes account because the computer is broken. Not sure what to do

Correct. it does not magially appear in other places. It will only be where you put it.

Correct as well. Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one. -
How can i get a pdf from my iPhone to my new macbook? I keep trying to sync but it says it will delete all the books/pdfs on my phone. I don't have this pdf on my computer and don't want to lose it. I am using the same iTunes account. Any suggestions?

Based on your post it sounds like you would like to sync your iBooks content with your computer. I have located an article that may help you in this situation. While you can sync this data with your computer you can also use the sharing button to send PDFs using various sources:

If it's really a couple dozen pictures, I would expect it should be under 100 MB.
You can try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the used space is still so high. -

Hi maggieanntb, your sister's Apple ID came up because an app(s) was downloaded using her account. To prevent that from happening, you would have to delete the app(s) that were downloaded on her's, and re-download them using your own Apple ID.

Most all of my 1700 songs have been duplicated in iTunes. I have downloaded the instructions how to delete the duplicates but it says "sort by the date you added" and i have no column that says that. I am running windows xp.
Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed)

When Safari opens all of my favourites come up as open tabs. I have tried changing settings and deleting and reopening! I removed all favourites but still all open up at start? I have set a homepage and that doesn't come up upon starting safari either?

Have you tried to reset it? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds and see if you can get it to reboot.
